This was cute. The length was great for kids and the illustrations were fun. I do think that there were a lot of illustrations on one page and made it a little overwhelming. The story started a little abruptly too but overall I enjoyed it.
This one was super fun! With rhyming and absurd situations throughout - the story is entertaining and creative to spark imagination and silly play. I could also see it being interactive with having kids interject in some parts or follow along with the exclamations. The premise of the story is really cute and the illustrations are great - they support the story and add an additional element of discovery and humor for kids to interact with outside of what you would expect from a story about goats.
Overall fast paced and fun - definitely a good one for toddlers/young kids. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC!

The rhyming text, narrative structure, and onomatopoeia make this book a great addition to literacy lessons. Activities could include identifying rhyming words, sequencing events, or discussing favorite parts.
The "problem-solving" theme is perfect for discussing how to address challenges, whether big or small, in a classroom context.
I found Goats Afloat thoroughly enjoyable and can confidently say that my students would love it. It’s a versatile book that can be used across multiple teaching contexts, and of course just for fun! This book is bound to be a hit in the classroom and amongst kids everywhere!
This is a must-have for educators and parents looking for a fun picture book.
What could be more fun than a boat full of goats? My children were captivated from the very first page of this fun, rhyming story. We were all (happily) surprised by the ending and then had several re-reads to explore all the details in the illustrations and the fun (and puns) of the rhyming words. Such a fun story of friendship, teamwork, and going with the flow!

This is a cute picture book and I loved the story! How adorable! I would pick up this book if I hadn’t already read it!
This is a funny story of goat siblings avoiding a troll to take their grandmother a cake. They float along the river and stumble upon many obstacles.
This was so fun! I plan to buy this one for my kids and will keep in mind to gift to friends and family. The story is delightful, the illustrations are engaging and the rhyming keeps a nice rhythm (that can be hard to do! I never found myself stumbling to make sense of the meter).
I was laughing out loud multiple times reading it by myself and then again as my 4-year-old and I read it.
There is a sweet message at the end of the book, too. Very cute!
What a wonderful story! My kids loved the goats journey, full of adventure and obstacles along the way. Rhymes always delight them and the illustrations are beautiful.
What a cute storyline! I love the lesson the book shares as well as the illustrations and rhyme. I would highly recommend this book for public schools and libraries.
What a fantastic adventure!
I think this was such a fun book! Great illustrations and the chaos of it all was wonderfully engaging for the little ones brain!
This would be a great one if you have kids in multiple age groups, its fun and easy to follow along for all ages!
Silly rhyming book sure to make children giggle.
The illustrations were great. The story was silly. I though it would be a spin on Billy Goats Gruff, but it was far from that (other than there are goats and a troll). This adventure book is a good addition to any children's collection. A teacher or school librarian could use it for some phrase repetition too.
Age: pre-k-1
Audience: classroom, school library

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC! The pictures in this book were not ideal for a child. The storyline was going nowhere fast
First of all, the goats are so adorable and goofy looking, love the art style. My nephew absolutely loved the rhythming that was going on and the funny signs that were on the pages was a nice add-on. Just wished the text was a bit bigger in size because there was so plenty of blank space for it, just so the words are more visible for the kids.
Five little goats want to bring their granny flowers and a cake for her birthday, but when they see a troll blocking the bridge, they decide to go by canoe. The goats prepare, making their cake, “They grated and stirred, and it never occureed, that a trip doen the river was highly absurd.” The five goats teavel the river halfhazardly past a beaver’s dam and through rapids. When the cake topples over, the goats have to think quickly and decide what they should do next. The digital art is rendered in a painterly look, with deep, rich colors adding depth to each page. The art adds to the humorous tone of the book with fun drawings and silly signs seen in the journey. The words are occasionally arranged in different ways to add to the illustrations and story, guiding readers’ eyes in specific directions. As the goats make it to granny’s, they learn what she wanted most for her birthday — and that it isn’t the best idea to judge a troll based on appearances.
We loved this one! The rhymes were so cute and clever and the illustrations were great. We loved the message that sometimes plans change and remaining calm and patient is a good thing! Also what a cute little twist at the end with the troll. We would absolutely have this book on our shelves at home and gift to other parents as well!
This book was so cute! I really enjoyed the art style and the lyrical flow of the writing. The story was well thought out and even had a fun twist at the end. I would definitely recommend to and buy this for someone else.
my 4 y/o and 2 y/o loved this book so much it made them laugh hard.
as a mom i find the story really good because it's a toddler retelling of the billy goat’s gruff tale! it was so much fun but the illustration for me was kind of off-putting but would i buy it for my toddler? definitely!
3.5/5
Cute spin on the classic Billy Goat’s Gruff tale. The illustrations are a bit messy for my taste, but the story is cute
This is a very fun and engaging read. It's very exciting with the rhyming language and the art is cute
Goats Agloat was adorable! My 5 year old enjoyed it and it reminded us of his favorite series Bunnies on a Boat. He liked that the goats ended up being grandma’s gift at the end. He liked the pictures and thought it was really funny. We both loved the rhyming pattern. It was bouncy and upbeat.
