Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. The opinions written are completely honest and my own.

A fascinating collection of stories told of Iraqi refuge's and poems

Although there is no way I can relate to any of these poems or stories, I can relate to their dreams. I find this collection unifying and eye opening

This is a book you'll want to own a hard copy of so you can revisit or write.notes in it

I ended up DNFing this book. I did not connect with the author's voice or style. However, I believe the stories shared and messages are important and needed, so I have skipped a Goodreads review.

While it took me a second to get into, once I did, I actually enjoyed the liminal style and how it flowed. It was unique, for sure, and I don't mean that in a bad way. I think it's well worth experiencing.

Beautiful, heart wrenching, completely compelling, and full of grief and resilience. This should be required reading

This hits hard, right in the stomach. It's masterful and I have found myself a new author to follow. Nice work! Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the free eARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

A quick read of poetry and beautiful writing on living in a war zone and the impacts that it makes on lives of those it touches. Was definitely a little heavy and hard to read at some points definitely would give a warning to those that might be triggered. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
