I really enjoyed this book. It was unique and well written. The character of Cali was very relatable and had so much growth by the end of the book. I thought it was very well laid out and a pretty quick read. I highly recommend this one. I can't wait for more from the author.

This book certainly explores the underbelly of politics and how certain politicians take advantage of those who work for them with promises of greatness of which more often than not, are never fulfilled. Cali.worked tirelessly for Ralph and was his neck and call every moment of the day. He made her feel useless and played upon her emotions to the point of tears. She was merely a pawn in his effort to win. He stated that she couldn't trust anyone but him but in all honesty, she could trust her colleagues far more as to emotional support. She lost time with family and friends as she was a shell of herself and unfortunately was perceived as selfish such as with Jack and Jo as she continued to make excuses as to she couldn't participate in life. She was working herself to exhaustion. I was glad she finally came to that realization and stood up for herself. Her sacrifices were simply not worth it.

This book was awhile experience and a lot of emotions.
I didn’t expect a book like this to have such impact on me.
