I’m…..going to have to take a break on this. Not that Kent finish it but wow. So long and very repetitive. I absolutely love these characters but it’s been a bit hard to get through this. So it take me a bit but I’ll definitely come back to the book!
Thank you NetGalley and Cara Maxwell Romance for this eCopy to review
Queen of Blood and Vengeance is the thrilling conclusion to the Secrets of the Faerie Crown series, a dark fantasy romance that twists the Arthurian legend into a high-stakes, steamy adventure. The story follows Veyka Pendragon, a fierce and determined queen, and Arran Earthborn, her loyal and passionate companion, as they navigate a world filled with magic, betrayal, and heart-pounding action.
Veyka Pendragon's destiny is anything but ordinary. As the rightful queen, she has faced enemies both human and faerie, all while grappling with her own inner demons. Alongside Arran Earthborn, her steadfast ally and love, Veyka must confront the darkness that threatens to consume their world. Betrayals and secrets test their bond, but their determination remains unbroken. As they prepare for the final battle, they reflect on the sacrifices made and the blood that has been spilled. Their journey is perilous, but together, they aim to reclaim Veyka's throne and bring peace to their land—or die trying.
In this final instalment, everything culminates in a breath taking showdown. Veyka's journey is one of blood, vengeance, and the quest for survival. The character growth is phenomenal, and the romance is both intense and emotionally devastating. Emberly Ash does not hold back, delivering a finale that is both satisfying and heart-wrenching.
The world-building is rich and immersive, with dark elements that keep readers on the edge of their seats. The plot twists and turns, keeping the tension high until the very last page. The series sets the bar for dark fantasy, blending mythology with a modern twist that is both unique and captivating.
Overall, Queen of Blood and Vengeance is a powerful and gripping conclusion to a series that will leave fans of dark fantasy and romance thoroughly satisfied. It's a must-read for those who enjoy epic tales of magic, revenge, and love.
Firstly thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC.
I’m so sad to be at the end of this series because of how much I loved the world and its characters.
If you want a dark and spicy twist on a King Arthur retelling this is absolutely it. The characters have so much depth and uniqueness, the world building and magic system is well thought out, and the romance/spice between the two MCs is *chefs kiss*.
Without giving any spoilers for this book specifically- boy did this one have me on the edge of my seat almost the entire time. We know Veyka is going to have to make the ultimate sacrifice (don’t worry there’s a HEA) and the build up and tension leading up to it is so good.
I can confidently say that I was never bored because of how often shit is hitting the fan for every character.
I also really loved the side plot romances for other characters. I do wish this was explored more towards the end though.
Overall this is such a solid series that deserves so much more hype than it gets!
What an epic way to end such an epic series!
I am so glad I had the pleasure of following Veyka and Arran on their journey these last four books. I laughed with Lyrena, I cried with Cyara, and I longed with our two beautiful mains. I loved seeing so many different POVs in this one. It really gave this book the global feeling that I think Ash was trying to relay. Like, this is it, it's all coming to a head now.
I don't know much else to say that I haven't already said about the rest of the series. The battle scenes are always A+, but the final battle truly was epic. The ending was more than earned. And these characters will live in my heart forever.
You know how you get so engrossed in a book that you literally turn off the world around you? This was one of those books for me! I’m so glad to that I got to read the final installment of a series that has hooked me since book one. Although I am sad to see the characters’ story come to and end I feel very satisfied with how it all worked out!
Oh my I know it had to end somehow but boy did this destroy me at times ! Veyka has had such a hard life and even now with her Mate and friends by her side she’s the one who has to give up something so precious that no one should ever be in that position .
The author has truly pulled it out of the bag in this final instalment with love and pain in equal measures .This fantastical take on Arthurian legend has been impossible to put down but I think it’s the surrounding characters who truly helped to make this feel vital and real . Of course I enjoy romance but for this reader the joy here is that I found myself truly sinking into this world and leaving reality behind bravo !
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fa
The prophecy is falling into place and none of our beloved characters are safe! This is a wonderfully thrilling conclusion to the series and I'm slightly sad at leaving Veyka, Arran and Co. behind.
The multiple POV's let you crawl inside the minds of our characters and the action scenes are explosive. The spicy scenes are mwaaaah!
Vekya just keeps rallying, when she thinks she's faced everything the universe can throw at her, it raises the bar and she gives the new disaster her all. Arran knows Veyka is his everything but that doesn't stop him putting his foot in it. Together they will lose friends, family, find allies and seek justice from themselves and Annwyn.
Veyka could be an all-powerful, vengeful queen but she has learned restraint and that there is a time and a place to lose herself in anger. She is the epitome of vengeance not revenge and where many would kill everyone who had ever harmed her, cutting a swath through the population, she strikes surgically and strategically.
I have never swore so much or cried in joy and sadness so much with a book in ages. All hail the High Queen and King!
Will the void prophecy be fulfilled? It is a race against the clock to find the grail. Will they find it in time to save their realm?
This is the final installment in this series and it didn’t disappoint. This book was action packed! The POV changes between many characters to allow us to piece together the story.
Thank you to Emberly Ash, Cara Maxwell Romance, and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
4.5 rounding up to 5 stars!
This was a great conclusion to the end of Vekyas story. I can’t give away spoilers but I love the closure we get on certain characters IYKYK 👀 and there is still an amazing twist I did not see coming!
I loved the multiple POV in this story and watching them all weave together.
While I am sad to say goodbye to Vekya and Arran I cannot wait to see what Emberly has in store for her next book.
Thank you Emberly for letting me be part of your street team and for providing NetGalley with ARCs.
She never misses, another great book in the series that I absolutely devoured in a day.
I can't say enough good things about it
I generally prefer to read about the build up to war and the aftermath of war than the war itself but Queen of Blood and Vengeance a solid end to a great series. I liked seeing Veyka and Arran's continued growth and development but because the book focused on the war, I felt it had less emotional heft. I also felt that the introduction of a new POV also diluted the emotional impact and although I appreciated that it was necessary to move the plot forward, I didn't particularly care about it. Overall, I enjoyed the novel and it was a worthy conclusion to the series. I will definitely be picking up Emberly Ash's new series when it's released next year.
An epic end to this King Arthur inspired series. The tension and action were great but the multiple POVs got to be a little much. I lost track of who was who.

Thanks to the author and Netgalley for an ARC of the fourth book in the Secrets of the Fairie Crown series. This completes the journey of our heroes, Veyka and Arran, to rid the world of the succubus. Veyka is truly the star of the show her courage, persistence, and love for others proven over and over again, while Arran is steadfast support, loving her no matter what. And we know that it is Veyka’s love for her people and Arran's love for her that will save the world in the end.
It's an action-packed story that barely gives you the time to catch your breath. Yet, at the same time, sometimes I felt like I wasn't making any progress and the book would last forever. What I'm saying is, it felt long. Although there is a wide cast of characters, we've met most of them before so it wasn't difficult to keep track. New ones are equally memorable and unique.
I may have overlooked this in the first three installments of this series, but I found that the story was a bit more sexually graphic than I prefer with descriptions that sometimes made me cringe. I know it's all a matter of personal preference, but I personally find that there are certain words that just give me the ick factor, and there were several of them in this story.
I also found some of the descriptions a bit confusing and complicated, particularly when it came to describing battle scenes. And I never quite wrapped my head around the various realms and how they connected to one another, but that's probably on me. Because so much of the story veered toward violence, there was little room for the poetic touches that I most enjoy in storytelling. This was not the place for that. However, I enjoyed the phrasing of this statement: “...now screams competed with a clash of metal. The latter was losing.”
And I loved this explanation for the failures of humanity. Much as I wish it weren't true, it's accurate. “There were no kingdoms or unity in the human realm. Only scattered villages too caught up in their own self-preservation to realize they hobbled themselves with their idiotic refusal to develop any sort of inter-dependence.”
There’s an abundance of strong female characters in this story, so it shouldn't have come as any surprise when I read things like this, regarding the succubus: “They come to the most vulnerable minds, the males, when they are at their weakest, while sleeping…” And then there was this as a follow-up: "A wakeful female mind is infinitely stronger than a sleeping male one.” It made me giggle.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and I’m glad I read it because I really wanted to learn the conclusion of the series. I was invested in these characters and their fate and I was happy with the ending. But there's a niggling part of my brain saying I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the first three books. It's still an outstanding book. Maybe I was in a different head space this time. I can't imagine that there's anything different about the writing.
Do I recommend it? Absolutely. It's required reading, after you've read books one through three. It's an epic journey with the requisite challenges to help characters grow into their best selves. They're forced to face their inner demons and come out stronger in the end. Love conquers all, and all that. It's memorable and told very well. It's a tale that will linger in my mind for a long time.
Queen of Blood and Vengeance is the final book in the series, and I have been beyond excited to find out how the story ends for the characters I fell in love with. This series has been one of great characters that have shown character growths by facing hardships, heartbreaks, doubts, failures, loss, danger, wars, success, romance, love, completeness and deserving HEA's. This book did not disappoint me at all when it came to this story and although this is not a short story, I devoured it and still couldn't get enough of these characters. I absolutely loved Vekya and Arran, but their friends and family that journey and fought with them along the way also held a special place in my heart too. It's a series that, I'm glad I decided to give a chance to because it left me satisfied. This fast-paced, action-packed, dark romance paranormal story delivered and exciting and unforgettable reading experience that left me excited to read more books from this author and this series is one I will be recommending.
This final book in the series, really, the whole series is phenomenal ! If you like a dark romantasy with an Arthurian legend twist, high action, fated mates, fierce and stabby FMC, found family, shifter MMC, magic, and more, then you need to read this series! This final book was both emotional and beautiful in its ending. I am already missing these characters.
An absolutely fabulous series wrap up. Loved every one of these books. The characters, magic, and world are phenomenal 10/10 definitely recommend
Veyka is an amazing fmc throughout the entire series. I loved her character growth and the twists and turns that the plot puts her through.
Arran is everything. Morally grey is my favorite color and with Arran trying to burn the world down for Veyka, that's exactly what he is.
With a smiling and a crying eye, I finished Queen of Blood and Vengeance. This final chapter in Veyka’s journey is an epic conclusion that fans of fantasy won’t want to miss. The story weaves a rich tapestry of magic, power, and emotion, all centered around Veyka, a heroine who captivated me from the very beginning.
The author does a phenomenal job of bringing the fantastical world to life, filled with vibrant descriptions, fierce battles, and political intrigue. Veyka’s growth is truly the heart of the story—her evolution from a determined woman into a powerful queen and passionate lover is a compelling arc that held me captive. She faces impossible choices, betrayal, and loss, and through it all, she becomes stronger and wiser, carrying the weight of her crown with grace.
The relationships in the book are another highlight, from Veyka’s tender romance to the complex dynamics with her allies and enemies. The fantasy setting serves as a perfect backdrop, enhancing the stakes and making every decision feel monumental. Magic pulses through the pages, from spells and mystical creatures to the power struggles that shape the realm.
Finishing Queen of Blood and Vengeance was a bittersweet moment—I'm grateful to have been part of Veyka's journey, but I also didn't want it to end. This story is a masterclass in blending fantasy with raw human emotion, and it will stay with me long after the final page. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a well-crafted fantasy with a strong, evolving heroine and a world brimming with wonder and danger.
“She was asking me to love her, no matter what was left.”
“Queen of Blood and Vengeance,” by Emberly Ash
I loved this book so much. There isn’t much to say about it, if you read and loved the first 3 books of the Secrets of Faerie Crown series then you will love it too. It was absolutely spot on and perfect as the rest of the series has been. I love love love the characters and the romance. The story plot is always so dense and full of action, growth, and complications. I wouldn’t change a single thing. 5 out of 5 stars.
