Thank you NetGalley and Brilliance Publishing for the ARC of this audiobook for my honest review

I think this book taught me a lot, and such interesting information. I went around telling people all the new facts I learnt. I just thought it might have some more stuff on keeping our memory good. Like I want to know if the fact I learnt idk where is true where if you think you have a bad memory you will have one. The stuff I did learn I’m happy with. Sometimes it was a bit much at once but most of the stuff I understood and enjoyed.

NRN at 25%

I started this audiobook and immediately loved it. It's short but very detailed. So while I did NRN it (Not Right Now) it is definitely something I plan to come back to. The writing itself is heavy in description and it sticks with a predominantly scientific narrative, so if that sort of dense and detailed non-fiction isn't for you, perhaps give this a skip. I do urge you to try to listen if you find the premise interesting. There is no doubt that I, with my shortage of brain cells, would have to read this a few times to truly understand everything behind the science of memories and our brain function.
It’s something I’m looking forward to coming back to, so thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to try this out.

[Please note: I don't review with star ratings so I give each author and book 5 stars for the creativity, effort and energy alone, that goes into writing and publishing each book. Stars are a commendation of art]

Interesting quick read with well explained concepts for people like me that know very little one the topic.

The book felt a little incomplete and there were areas I would have wanted to know more about.

A great read / audio for anyone looking to get easy-to-grasp information on how the human brain works.

Perfect for neuroscience beginners and fans of the subject.

Thanks to NetGalley and Brilliance Audio for the Audio ARC!

There is some amazing stuff in this book. The author has obviously done some ground breaking research that brings to light some very wild stuff about our brains and how they store concepts and experiences into memory. Honestly, the main thing that intrigued me about this book was the term 'Jennifer Aniston Neurons', and I was not disappointed. The specificity of individual neurons reacting to one specific concept is crazy. I'll be interested to see where the author's research takes him next!

A very quick primer on memory. Those in the know won't find much new here. But this is a great text for the average person. We think we remember things; we think we remember things well. We might notice when we don't or when others "misremember," or at least when their memories don't seem to match our own. Quiroga explains why in simple terms with clear examples. The audiobook went quickly. Those who found the text version dry may do better with this version.
