This was a very interesting book. The story is very relevant, even today. I also love the fact that it is a gay guy running and owning a strip club. There were times I was laughing out loud. There were also times when I wondered what could happen next. Having a background in criminal justice, this book is very true to fact.

What a wild crazy story which somehow I had never before heard! What an insane change of circumstances to go from lawyer to mob informant. This book takes you on the wild ride in between. I was vaguely aware of Scores from living in NY but didn't know much other than it was a certain type of club where a lot of the local pro athletes and other celebrities went. This was a crazy behind the scenes scoop about which I had no idea.

Thank you to the publisher and net galley for the advance audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Like most people who know of Scores, my knowledge comes form Howard Stern. When this audiobook became available, I thought, why not give it a shot? Wow, was I in for a surprise? I had no idea of the origin story of Scores or the the people behind it. After listening to Micheal Blutrich's book Scores, I am blown away. The mafia, the girls, celebrities, drugs, and closeted homosexuality are just the surface. Blutrich became an FBI informant on the mafia. This put his life at risk, to say the least. While not done for altruistic reasons, the extreme lengths to which he went to solidify the case against the mafia is either masochistic or heroic - truly a little of both,
This is a jaw-dropping story of how a man goes from being a lawyer with a Cuomo in his firm to being the most impactful informant against the mafia ever; how did I not know any of this? Scores are an addictive listen.

Thanks to NetGalley and Brilliance Audio for the Audio ARC!

If you look at this book's subtitle (How I Opened the Hottest Strip Club in New York City, Was Extorted out of Millions by the Gambino Family, and Became One of the Most Successful Mafia Informants in FBI History), you get the general tone of the whole book. Big, boisterous, funny, and unapologetic are all words that apply. The author does an excellent job of narrating this wild true story.

An interesting true life account from one of the owners of the infamous NY Club Scores. An openly gay man in a world that never seemed to phase him.
The Mob infiltrated club faltered then took off. Money wowed followed before success was achieved. This book is full of juicy details, celebrity sprinkles and a whole lot of legal troubles.
I wasn’t sure he was going to make it out alive. Read by the author so you knew he survived to tell the story.
Intriguing, juicy and full of adventure this book “Scores” 5 stars.

What a crazy story! I’ve heard about Scores being mentioned in movies and tv shows but was too young when it was at its peak. I loved the writer and his narration. This book really has it all - dirt on big name celebrities, murder, mafia ties, undercover operations, etc. I was captivated by this story!

Fascinating and often funny this was a real incite into the experience of an informant of the FBI on the Mob.
We are taken through the 'founding' of Scores and how Michael got himself into a position of being an informant.
Sometimes the antidotes are a little long winded or self indulgent but we soon get into the second half of the book where we get into the details of how the process worked and what he found out.
There was a long dream sequence that I did not enjoy but all in all really interesting and a worth while read.
I listened to the audiobook of this so having Michael narrate his story really added to the experience.

What an outstanding book! This is the firsthand recounting of one of the most famous mob takedown in US history. Told first person by Michael Blutrich, an attorney and entrepreneur. Sometimes funny, often terrifying, Blutrich weaves an amazing story. Some of the things he endured to get evidence for the FBI is crazy. This reads like a fiction story. How he was treated by the authorities sounds typical, empty promises.
