The author is in a very privileged position to be able to leave everything behind and head off into the wilderness alone to make a new life, and as much as many of us would often like to do this it's just not possible. However., I did find this book extremely thought provoking and made me consider a lot of questions relating to solitude and aloneness. It also pointed me in the direction of other useful books on this topic, which I have since picked up and read. Sata Maitland is a great author and I would highly recommend her 'Gossip From the Forest'.
