~Sometimes car crashes lead to good things.~

Thank You net galley for the arc copy!
It was a quick and fast paced read considering i finished it in a day. The concept of the flowers was amazing and intriguing at the same time. I love the whole idea behind the “Falling in love is easy, It’s the staying part that’s hard.” and MMC perceptive about commitment issues. I needed pointers.
Tho I would have loved it more if it wasn’t tilted more into insta love considering their enemies dynamics and a bit more detailed relationship development would have worked better, things got rushed a few times.

Tropes:
☞Workplace Romance
☞Fake Dating
☞One Bed
☞He’s a Billionaire

A very good start to this new series by an author I didn’t know before! I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers, fake dating story with added opposites attract, grumpy-sunshine, close proximity and one bed tropes. The plot is very engaging and well written, full of emotion, romance, humor, lots of banter and bickering, conflict, ups and downs, sizzling chemistry and steamy love scenes. The characters are also endearing and I particularly liked Vincent's character development over the course of the story. At the beginning of the story he is unsympathetic, but over time you get to know his background and insecurities. Piper is an admirable, warm and intelligent woman and the perfect match for Vincent. She supports, but also challenges him. I really enjoyed Vincent’s proof of love, the ending and also the unexpected happy ending of another couple.

Piper Doyle and Vincent Forde meet when they crash their cars and it's hate at first sight between the feisty photographer and the arrogant billionaire. When they meet shortly afterwards at the engagement party of Piper's stepbrother, who also happens to be one of Vincent's best friends, they end up at the same table and by chance Vincent learns that another couple at their table has a flower field of heliotropes in Hawaii, which he desperately needs for the creation of his new perfume. But unlike Piper, Vincent has made himself unpopular with them with his rude, withdrawn manner, so he hires Piper to help him procure them. Vincent persuades Piper to fake a relationship with him in order to satisfy his father, keep his ex at arm's length and convince the romantic couple from the engagement party to make a deal with him. Piper agrees because Vincent wants to use his connections to help her with her start-up. They work well together and their relationship soon intensifies. But Vincent will always put his company first, because he doesn't believe in love...

All in all, a very entertaining read that will keep you hooked until the end! I look forward to the next installment.

I received a free ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and left voluntarily.

Fun romance with rich-boss trope. I liked Piper when I was in her head, but when the chapters switched to Vincent's head she suddenly became more ditzy and breathless and annoying.

Usually when it comes to a Leslie North book, this author factory pretty much knows how to follow a formula. I'm a sucker for a rich boss concept, this ticked the usual trope boxes, was a good enough escape from real life and the other book I have on my e-reader keep my attention.

I recently completed the other Bossy & Bosshole Billionaire series from this author and decided to dive into the start of this new collection. It was short enough and nice enough to keep me entertained.

First of all, this was my very first ARC! Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. I feel honored!

This was a quick and easy read—I finished it in just two days. I'm a sucker for the enemies-to-lovers trope, and combined with fake dating? Fabulous! I especially loved the dynamic of The Lost Boys, Nana Dee, and the found family aspect of the story. That part was well done, particularly considering Vincent's perspective on love and relationships, as well as his internal struggle with his feelings stemming from his parents' divorce.

However, I did have some issues with the pacing. The story picked up very quickly, and the transition from the characters hating each other to falling in love felt rushed. Things escalated too fast for me, especially when they got engaged and Piper ended up pregnant by the end of the book. It wasn’t even an epilogue, so I’m guessing everything happened in just a couple of months, which felt a bit unrealistic. I found myself skimming over some sections that I didn’t think were necessary, but at the same time, I occasionally felt like I had missed a chapter and had to go back to check if I’d overlooked something important. There was some confusion in the flow, and the miscommunication trope didn’t really work for me (though I know some readers enjoy it, so that might not be an issue for everyone).

One funny moment for me personally was when Vincent mentions, “She was probably talking golf with the Sullivans or charming some princess from Austria.” As someone who lives in Austria, I couldn’t help but chuckle—we don’t have princesses here!

Despite those issues, I did enjoy the book overall. I’m definitely interested in reading the following books in the series, especially to learn more about the side characters!

Who knew a simple fender bender would lead to this hilarious adventure? Piper and Vincent started with a bang, ran into each other *again* and, apparently, that is the perfect lead up to a fake to real relationship and I loved every minute of it! Mr. Grump and Ms. Sunshine started heating up from the first run in, and boy o boy did that fire keep building until it was clear that inferno was going to take over. Piper, a freelance photographer looking to turn business owner, and Vincent, a billionaire perfume industry egomaniac, are a hit in this enemies to lovers rom com. They show us just how important communication really is to a couple, and the loved ones supporting them.

Perfect (mis)Match is the first book in a new series, Manhattan Bossholes, and I really hope that the future Bossholes are the friends from Vincents friend group. I have a weak spot for a good found family and how they find their forever's alongside each other. Luckily for Vincent, his found family group of Lost Boys were able to help this egomaniac, workaholic, angsty fool and teach him that love IS real and can be a wonderful thing. Or, luckily for Piper. In the end, it was nice to see the couples growth and passion for each other as it leaped right off the page.

I undeniably enjoyed this read from this new, to me, author and I will be back for more of this series. It had heart, business know how, heat and humor, making it an easy read that I devoured in a couple of evenings. I really look forward to checking out the authors backlist!

Thanks to NetGalley for the eARC. The above is my honest review.

This is definitely a new scenario for a romantic almost comedy book. With the creativity of it and the descriptions, it's almost as if the author is writing from personal experience! A great weekend read for anyone who wants to sit and enjoy a quick book.

Star Rating: 5/5
Spicy Level: 4/5

This is my first book by Leslie North and I have to say, I LOVED THIS BOOK. It had me smiling too myself and waking up at 3am to binge read. I loved the instant connection and then slow burn relationship between Vincent and Piper. I loved how strong the women were in their convictions and also showing love and support. This was a homerun!

I loved this book. Piper is my hero, she takes no nonsense from Vincent and never fails to tell him like it is. As their relationship progresses from antagonistic too reluctant co workers to a more romantic nature she always tells him like it is.
And when he makes the grand gesture that is so familiar in these stories, she tells him no, I deserve real feelings not gestures.
It was perfect, more please.

this book was so cute!! i hardly read romance so going into it i assumed i wasn't going to like it but i was wrong.

on a spice level it's like a 2/5, there's some scenes but they aren't too intense.

i really liked piper, she has a lot of love to give & just needed the right person to bring it out of her.

vincent's character was hard to like in the beginning and he made a lot of mistakes throughout the book but in the end he figured out what's important to him. business is important but prioritizing your person is just as important!

overall 4/5! i would recommend this book to romance lovers. i would said it's a enemies to lovers romance.
THANK YOU to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book for FREE. i really enjoyed the opportunity.

This was a fun, enemies-to-lovers and fake dating romance that took the reader on quite an adventure. I found the references to the perfuming world quite interesting. As characters, Vincent and Piper were a little extra. Vincent leaned into his egotistical billionaire personality at first. I liked that Piper didn't take Vincent's crap but her inner monologues could be over-the-top. With time, both Piper and Vincent learned to soften, be themselves and work together. It was the expected break-up that I struggled with, not only the manner in which it happened but the extreme lack of communication. This review is slightly different than what I posted on GoodReads as the spoilers have been removed. The best part of this book was the part with the flowers. It was unlike any grand gesture I've ever read before and my respect for Piper went through the roof because of it. The worst part of the book for me was the reunion. It was incredibly cheesy and made me roll my eyes. Another reader said it was "almost ick" and I have to agree 100%.

Thank you to NetGalley and Leslie North for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Overall this was an ok and quick read. While I love the fake dating trope, communication issues between the main characters and making someone "grovel" and "woo" the other character back really irritates me.

I think that the relationships between the characters could have been developed a little better and felt that the some of the outside conflicts felt forced. The "surprise" at the ending is probably what made me rate this so low. I feel like the announcement the main couple made was unnecessary to wrapping up the story and unrealistic.

3.5 stars. I was really enjoying this enemies-to-lovers, fake-dating romance until the 3rd act breakup. Piper is very fun and smart--I admired that she always stood up for herself. Vincent (love that name!) was a great bosshole (love that word!). But...the 3rd act breakup was handled poorly. Both Piper and Vincent made some mistakes in the handling of their relationship and poor communication. And the reconciliation was incredibly cheesy and almost ick. I enjoyed the character and relationship development so I'm interesting in continuing with this series. Good writing. Thank you to NetGalley for a digital copy.

Piper and Vincent meet because of a car accident. They end up thrown together due to a series of circumstances beyond their control but then they just compound the problem with lies. Can a relationship started on a lie end up being real?

Piper is a photographer with dreams of owning her own business. I like that she isn’t a pushover. She is also smart and creative. I didn’t totally understand her business plan but it was nice to see how she went from idea, to plan to actually creating her business. Vincent is driven but that’s what makes him successful. His determination to create the “perfect” scent was interesting. He is known as a bosshole. The author did a nice job showing how Vincent became nicer. It was believable. I think the author did a good job showing how the characters grew together. I like the side characters and how they all fit into the story.

This story takes place in Manhattan. This is a fake relationship story. This is a feel-good love story. I enjoyed this story and I will read more from this author in the future.

Bossy Billionaire meets Sassy Photographer in this adorable romcom. There’s a lotta sass which I approve highly of. We’ve got sort of an enemies to lovers along with a fake dating trope, which I love. Enjoy the ride, its a great one 🌶️🌶️🌶️

This book archived before I could read it but I don't want my % to decrease because I wanted to pick it up but didn't download it before it did.

The premise sounded fun and something I might enjoy so I may read it eventually but not right now.

The star rating is to boost the book and because I like the cover.

Thanks to NetGalley for the copy!

I was enjoying the first part but then it got too soapy. Somehow the focus wasn’t on the correct place of the story. For example they made two deals leading to the same thing eventually which made the second one unnecessary. The plan to go to Hawaii and stay there a week and secure a deal and thoroughly described and then they go there, they ask 2 questions, they spend there one day that’s properly described and then nothing, felt skipped over . Their relationship despite starting off as a fake one and developing into something more was also not really detailed. Supposedly him being the grumpy and she the sunshine, somehow missed the mark.

Something that pissed me off was his relationship with his ex! If you don’t like her so much don’t hire her, I’m sure there are other models out there, and how many times can a woman attempt to and actually sit in your lap for you to learn how to properly reject her?

Paul seeking advice from Vincent after his wedding complaining about his wife feeling not understood and at the point of a break down.. the whole paragraph felt like gaslighting from their side. Pass

Somehow fast forward to Vincent proposing to Piper. I’m asking myself why? What exactly makes him realise she’s for him after complaining the whole time, not being understood, romantic or supportive at all? And after his behaviour what possesses her to agree? One chapter later and she’s also pregnant. Another pass.

P. S something i remember from the first time he actually met/ hugged her , his inner dialogue being “she smells like cheap perfume, not like the one she deserves “. Um, excuse me but if I’m into someone I don’t want him to think I smell cheap, I’d never think this and it’s ridiculous as a comment because it already piles up negative points for the character, at least from my side.

So as predictable as this book was , I’m going to give it 3 stars because , once again, I enjoyed the first half.

This was a strong start to the Manhattan Bossholes series, it had that element that I wanted in a romance novel and from the setting. I enjoyed the way Leslie North wrote this and hope there is more in this series. The characters had that realistic feel that I wanted and was glad I got to read this.

This book was so satisfying. The sass, the banter, the chemistry, the bizarre twists of fate, the slow burn. All of it made this book so much fun to read. I could have kept reading more and still been happy.

-NetGalley-

I loved the book!!
From the first moment we met the incredible billionaire Vincent and his huge ego (and wallet haha) I knew it was going to be a really good book.
I would have loved to see more of his relationship with Nana Dee, because I thought it was super cute but it made up for it quite a bit by showing his relationship with The Lost Boys. It's the first time I've seen a book where there's a character so open in his relationship with his friends/brothers.
I thought it was a really nice book. I really liked that Piper fulfilled her dream of building her own company, she didn't sacrifice her own desires to continue working with Vincent, she made her own way in the end.

Thanks to the author and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book.
