First of all, I’ll start by saying that I could not put this book down! The story begins with Kate, an artist who is looking for some inspiration, visiting the house that belongs to her missing, and presumed dead, aunt Esmeralda. Something is drawing her to the house, but she doesn’t know what. She seems to be missing memories, but as she spends more and more time in the house, they start to come back to her. She eventually discovers that her aunt can travel to different worlds and dimensions, and maybe she isn’t dead after all.

Shannon Holly has a real knack for describing these worlds, and their inhabitants to us. I loved the characters in this book. My one gripe was that the book seemed very short, and there was a lack of tension. I really hope she continues to write more stories about these characters and this world.
