Narration was good. I think the plot of this starts out strong but then is wrapped up too easily with a few pew pews. BDSM/degradation heavy

Thank you @Dreamscape Media and @Netgalley for the ARC. Westin is the second book in the Sovereign series. I did not read the first book but after reading this one, I will go back to read. Westin is a sexy hero. I love him. Diane needs rescuing from an abusive brother and an arranged marriage. Westin sees her and says "Mine". Read this book.

I enjoyed this one so much more than Sovereign so while that got a 3.5 from me, this is a solid 4 star. Probably would have been closer to 5 stars had there not been so much emphasis on this one little trope I can't stand.

I received an ALC from NetGalley so this review is for the audio version and Hannah Chiclana and Jack Calihan did an amazing job. Jack's got a perfect cowboy voice, and Hannah portrayed Diane so well. All the stars for these performances!

This story is very similar in terms of plot to the first book, however I really like Westin and Diane more as characters in general and that made this book more enjoyable to me.

Diane meets Westin and he just has to have her. Then her brother marries her off before Westin can get her and thus starts the drama of two lives trying to get back to each other.

The spice was SPICY. OMG. I read a lot of unhinged smut and this had one scene that had me SCREAMING. There are BDSM themes so if that's not your thing this may not be for you, but I found it to be a lot lighter and more palatable than the first book.

Overall it was a great read. Morally grey MMC and an FMC that has some claws.

Take me to Montana!!!

Westin by Raya Morris Edwards is a wild ride and equal parts swoony and intense. Set against the gorgeous backdrop of northern Montana, it tells the story of Diane Carter, a tough and independent woman stuck in a frustrating situation, and Westin Quinn, the broody, forbidden cowboy who shakes up her world. The chemistry between Diane and Westin is electric, and their love is messy, passionate, and full of feels. Plus, it was great to have peeks at another side/perspective of Keira and Sovereign’s story from book one.

Hannah Chiclana and Jack Calihan did an amazing job with the narration! Chiclana nails Diane’s mix of strength, naïveté and vulnerability, while Calihan’s deep, rugged voice is pure velvet, rumbly cowboy perfection—he is Westin! Their voices pull you right into the story, making you feel like you’re living every moment alongside the characters. There are a few slower parts here and there, but overall this is worth a listen. If you’re into steamy, cowboy romance with a touch of danger, the Sovereign Mountain series is for you.

I can’t wait to see what’s next in the series!

Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media and Raya Morris Edwards for an advance listening copy. These are my honest thoughts.

This book had some great aspects but felt like it was rushed in some places and dragged on in others. I didn't feel an insane amount of chemistry between the MCs. Fairly enjoyable but wouldn't read again

WESTIN QUINN, THE MAN THAT YOU ARE. 💕

Raya Morris Edwards knows how to write a sex scene! My cheeks were red as a cherry from blushing so hard and I could barely contain my facial expressions while listening to this on audio. The narrators did a fantastic job! Also, the little glimpses we got of Deacon were very much appreciated and I am already in love with him. Highly recommend this book if you love gun-toting cowboys, BDSM, touch-her-and-you-die, age gap and just good ole' southern gentleman charm.

HANDS DOWN my favorite out of the two in the series thus far and I cannot wait to looooooove the next installment just as much, if not more than this one!

I really enjoyed Westin and Diane’s story. I liked this book a little more than the first in this series. I felt a deeper connection with these characters and the storyline was more emotional. I love age gap and this one hit the mark! The story kept me intrigued all the way through and the spice was phenomenal! Hannah Chiclana and Jack Calihan Both did an amazing job of portraying these characters and bringing them to life for me.

Thank you Dreamscape Media for the ALC.

This one was better than Sovereign. I felt the story was more emotional than the first book. I love that Westin was a bit more romantic than Sovereign.

From this book I can officially say I don’t think I am a BDSM reader anymore. I wanted to read Westin because thought maybe it was the contract part of Sovereign that was throwing me. I did not care for the first book. The BDSM parts were much better in this book. I am not a fan of the contract.

Westin is what I wanted the first book to be.

The spice was very good. If you’re looking for a spicy smutty book that has a traumatized cowboy who heals a meek FMC this one is for you.

ALC:
The female narrator, Hannah was perfect. I could feel every emotion that she was going through. I think she was the best choice for Diane.
The male narrator Jack did a great job. I would definitely listen to more book narrated by him.

THIS SERIES JUST GETS BETTER!!! I completely devoured Westin & Diane’s story and didn’t want it to end! What’s not to love with dark cowboy, virgin FMC, age gap, touch her and d!e, but then add in lots of bdsm too! I keep seeing this whole series compared to a mix of Yellowstone & 50 shades and I couldn’t agree more!! Westin & Diane's story had a fantastic storyline that kept me locked in and completely captivated until the very end! Their love story is hard fought and so deserved after what they go through with an epilogue that was just the cherry on top of it all🥹

**Before diving into this one, I HIGHLY recommend starting with book 1, Sovereign! This book has an overlap that timeline, so you will be completely spoiled for that story if you read this first! It will also make it easy to understand the characters and what is going on. Plus I just loved getting to hear Westin & Diane’s perspective of moments from that one and learn things I didn’t know!

I completely adored Westin & Diane!!!!! She is innocent and living with her cruel brother after losing her nana while Westin is a dangerous cowboy known as the Gunslinger. When they first meet, she is about to turn 21 and he is 37. The beginning of their love story has all the forbidden and sneaking arounds vibes with little moments that had me falling harder for them. However, life is not simple for these two as Diane’s brother gives her no choice and forces her into a situation. I don’t want to say too much as this story is so much better reading as it unfolds!!!

AUDIO REVIEW:
The audiobook for Westin was an incredible narration that kept me hooked into this exhilarating and addicting story while also bringing to life the raw emotion, rough dark elements and sexiness of this story! Hannah Chiclana and Jack Calihan performed this one in a dual narration and completely captured the characters personalities, showcased their age age with their distinct young/older tones and brought the heat with those kinky scenes!! Definitely listen with headphones in🔥😮‍💨 Their performance was incredible and makes me already want to listen to this one again!

I already love listening to Hannah but she couldn’t have been more perfect for Diane!!! Her soft and tender tone showcased Diane’s innocence, vulnerability and sadness as she has been through so much heartbreaking pain! I also love the sass and sweetness in her tone when she is with Westin as he was so caring with her and gave her so much life which made their relationship even more genuine and heartfelt!

As soon as I saw Jack was narrating I knew his deep raspy tone was the perfect choice for this dangerous and protective man! He’s got an older rough tone to his voice which captured Westin’s age of 37 years old while his deep tone brought out his dangerous, dominant and protective side. I love that his voice also had a softer edge during all of the sweet and caring moments with Diane!

Overall I cannot recommend this dark cowboy series enough on audio but highly suggest starting with Sovereign before moving to this one!

Westin, Book Two Sovereign Mountain Series
by Raya Morris Edwards
Narrators, Hannah Chiclana andJack Callahan
This book was just not for me for a variety of reasons. Life is too short to listen to books you don’t really like. Maybe cowboy romance with age difference and some other iffy tropes are just not for me. The phrase, “He felt like a bull outside the cowpen” just doesn’t do it for me. The narrators
were okay but not really fabulous.
Had to DNF this one.

I listened to this audiobook during a recent flight, and I’d just like to say: thank god for headphones 🎧🥵 it sure was spicy (4-4.5/5) 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.🌶️

Story-wise, I felt like this was set in the 1800s??? idk the whole arranged marriage in exchange for land is so backward it’s hard to believe it could be happening in 2024, but I guess with the state of the US and the impending doom of a future we have ahead of us, who knows anymore 🥴🥴🥴🥴

(Thank you, Dreamscape Media and NetGalley, for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.)

Dark cowboy romance… sign me up! This book was actually way better than I thought it was going to be. Westin was so hot. The spice was spicy and I loved how sweet he was for Diane. The narrators were also really great and I didn’t want to stop listening to this audiobook! Make sure you check the trigger warnings before you read this book!

🎧 ALC review

Jack Calihan and Hannah Chiclana are the perfect narrators for Westin and Diane. Jack has the perfect growly cowboy voice and Hannah is the perfect voice for Diane.

Westin takes place at the same time as Sovereign, so we get glimpses of Westin and Diane. Nothing prepares you for their story though.

Westin is the second book in The Sovereign Mountain series. If follows Westin Quinn, a rancher that works with his best friend on Sovereign Mountain. Westin is also know as the Gun Slinger and has a reputation to never miss a shot. Westin meets Diane and wants her to be his. The only problem is she is only 21 years old and he is much older. Also Diane's brother has married her of to one of the Garrison's brothers, his sworn enemy. Will Diane and Westin get to be with each other and how will Diane be able to leave her husband when she is traped at the ranch. Westin has just as much as steamy chapters as the first book in the series Sovereign did. It will not disapoint the reader at all. I would like to thank both NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for letting me have an advanced copy of this audiobook.

**ALC**

Second book of the Sovereign Mountain Series.

This book coincided with events that happened in book one, so to not be confused you MUST read/listen to book one.

I enjoyed the storyline. There were moments that were standout and I felt like the book was more plot than relationship heavy. It was very much like book one. Guy sees girl. Guy wants girl. Guy gets rid of girls husband/family. Guy gets girl.

Jack Calihan did an amazing job bringing the growly cowboy to life. Hannah Chiclana did a great job with the FMC portions.

***I received a copy of this as an audio ARC via Netgalley for my honest review ***

- Age gap - Obsessed MMC - Dark Cowboy - Revenge - Sequel - Good Voice actors for audiobook -

The men of Sovereign Mountain are at it again. Rescuing mistreated women, reclaiming land, exacting revenge, and of course, thoroughly claiming and bedding their women. Westin is the second installment in The Sovereign Mountain series and follows the story of Westin and Diane, who we met in the first book, Sovereign. While this is a sequel, the reader can choose this as a standalone or even read the books out of order. This book follows pretty much the same timeline as the first, just from our new main characters' point of view and, of course, expanding on their backstories.

While I did really enjoy listening to this book overall, I do wish the storyline varied a tad more from the first book. It seems to have been plotted out off of the same formula. But I guess if it's not broke, don't fix it. Us readers will keep coming back to see what the sexy, overprotective, domineering cowboys are up to.

The insta love was SO bad. I’m talking, ridiculously impossible 😂 I felt this story was just so far fetched and unrealistic, I couldn’t handle it or get myself to care at all. 2x speed for the audio couldn’t even get this book over with quick enough 💀

Maybe if we would’ve gotten some backstory on the characters before diving face first into instalove & instalust, it wouldn’t have been so bad. 21 year old virgin not only kisses a random dude that’s way older - but also gives up her VCard? I just couldn’t. I rolled my eyes so many times during this story. 🫠

I didn’t connect with either of the MC’s because the story was just ridiculous from the get go and was hard to relate or get into caring for someone with such a ridiculous story line.

Thankyou dreamscape media and NetGalley for the ALC in exchange for my honest opinion . I read this book back in September and it was one of my highest anticipated reads of the year and the audio version was incredible . Love the dual narration .

Westin Quinn - morally grey MMC , a broody , possessive and dark man who is broken but such a caring soul for the people he loves and cares about most . He will do ANYTHING to get what he wants and nobody or nothing will stand in his way of doing so .

Diane Carter - FMC , strong - young and sassy who is willing to do anything to keep the farm protected even if it means marrying someone she despises .

I absolutely loved the plot of this book . It kept me so engaged , i missed meals while reading . Kept my emotions on edge the whole time , you truly felt for both the MMC and FMCs stories . The chemistry and angst between Westin and Diane was absolutely 🥵🔥 they were pure perfection .. the spice in this book was so hot , I had to jump out on the balcony to get some air . I binged this in a day both times I read it .

If you love dark cowboy romances with age gap , bdsm and great spice . Please read this .

- Dark Cowboy Romance
- Age Gap (H37; h21)
- Virgin FMC
- OTT Protective MMC
- BDSM

This is the second book in the Sovereign Mountain series and can be read as a standalone if you prefer, but it will give spoilers to the first book.

If I am rating on spice alone, this book is a solid 10/10. Raya Morris Edwards sure knows how to get those juices flowing. However, storyline wise I didn’t love this one as much as I did Sovereign. I think it had a lot to do with the fact that Sovereign had more eternal pieces moving and more mystery along with the fact that Diane and Westin spent the majority of the book separated and only met up for sex. Idk. It was still good, but it wasn’t great.
