Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ARC of this audiobook for my honest review
I really enjoyed this, it was fast moving and suspenseful. The characters were interesting and so impressive, the sad parts were sad, all the descriptions just transported me into this story and it was really enjoyable. I recommend!
I'll be publishing my review on Goodreads and StoryGraph 21st January and on Tik tok most likely will add to a monthly wrap up post with review the beginning of February

Political intrigue, lying, murdering, and money. This book has it all and Gene Koon brings it all together brilliantly! This was my 1st book by this author but will not be my last!

Garris Kelley is a CIA agent that has been outed and not sure if he still has a job. Our MC, Garris, is immediately thrown into action at the beginning of the book. He tries to keep his old military buddy and his senator father safe from an attempted assassination. Then he attempts to figure out who planned the attack.
This book has action, suspense, and intrigue. I thought it was funny that the president in this book is an active social media user which I initially thought was a stretch, but then I was like wait that’s the time we are living in. lol I liked the MC and his sense of morals. I do enjoy a military guy against everyone else book. I listened to the audio book and the narrator Richard Poe did a great job. His voice and pacing made this an easy listen.
There are a few things that I didn’t like. The main thing being it seems like a lot of repetition and that it took several chapters to really get into the plot. At almost half way through the book it felt like not much was accomplished. There was action and some suspense but the plot didn’t seem to move along. But overall I did enjoy the message and the listen.
Thank you to Gene Koon, the publisher, and NetGalley for allowing me an advanced copy to listen and review

Another Try is a fast-paced look at how politics and wealth collide; as well as the various factions that might try to influence that. Starting with a shooting on a train involving an Oregon Senator and his son that is partially foiled by an exposed CIA agent who happened to be there, several worlds collide in escalating twists and turns. Bouncing between Portland and a small town dominated by a vintner, Koon populates the story with a colorful cast of characters and a great mix of red herrings and actual clues to keep the reader engaged while they sift through the misdirections to find and become featured players in the real plot.

In the book Another Try, author Gene Koon follows “covert” CIA operative Garris Kelley. But since President Cahill exposed him as part of the CIA, life has changed for Garris and he is not covert any more. Teaming up with FBI agent Gayle Wilson to try and stop an assassination and find out whose behind it all. This is an edge of your seat political thriller that keeps you guessing as to who is behind it all. I would recommend this book. The audio-book narration was very good. I received a copy of this audio-book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Audio Book Review – Richard Poe narrates this one to such a clever level that it covers the intricacies of the plot so well. His tone leads you through this tale with plenty of guile making you feel immersed completely in the story.
The story itself was something that I thoroughly enjoyed and found to be enthralling.

Garris Kelley is a sauve yet rough and tumble CIA agent. He is has recently become famous for "taking out" the leader of a drug cartel. In Portland, Oregon, after the failed assassination of a United States senator, he finds himself mixed up with an FBI agent that is looking for her partner that has gone missing. The pair team up to help each other. A very wealthy wine maker interjects himself into the middle of everything. Is he more of a hindrance or help? Lots of non stop action abound. Who can be trusted?
This narrator was great. He was able to vocalize all the characters expertly.
