Ada is hands down one of my newest favorite book female characters. I cannot wait for the third and final novella to be released.

When crazy money doesn’t get Ada to take a job but the prospect of seeing Rian does make her take the job you know sparks are going to fly. She shows up as a guest at a high society charity auction and Rian just knows she is there to steal something. But keeping constant attention on her still doesn’t stop her from getting the job done nor doing a few extra things that will show up in the next book. The chemistry between the two of them hopefully will have a great payoff in the next book.

Yikes. She's so very "not like other girls". It got old fast and was very obnoxious to listen to. I never would have imagined that a sci-fi heist story could be boring, but here we are. The best part was the cover.

This is one of my favorite novella series!

Beth Revis brings us another fun, fast-paced adventure with Ada back at the center of the action. This time, she’s caught up in a high-stakes auction on a ridiculously rich planet, with her old frenemy (and maybe something more), Rian, tailing her every move. The banter between these two is top-notch, full of sass, tension, and chemistry that’ll keep you hooked.

The story is packed with clever twists, heists, and a deeper dive into the politics of human-settled space, all while keeping things entertaining and sharp. Ada’s smart, snarky narration makes her such a blast to follow, and the mix of humor, action, and a bit of romance hits just right. If you’re into space adventures with strong characters and witty back-and-forths, you’re going to love this one.

The clever and sarcastic Ada is back, taking on a job to deal with the release of the clean-up technology on Earth.

The rebel group that employed Ada to steal the revolutionary technology (in book one) to remediate the environmental damage on Earth come back to her, as they need her to do more for them at an auction. They offer her increasingly large sums of money, but it's the knowledge that Rian will be present at the auction for a charity gala at a museum that seals the deal for her.

A glammed up Ada wanders around the museum exhibits on the extremely wealthy planet, hobnobbing with fabulously rich people, while Rian tails her, intent on catching her steal whatever she's there for. And there are a LOT of intriguing and unique objects on display, but despite his certainty that she's after something, she continues to confound his expectations, teasing and bantering with him.

She does get to meet the beyond stupidly wealthy head of the company whose tech is intended to fix Earth, but Ada knows what the utterly self-absorbed man's real intentions are for the technology.

There is so much chemistry between Ada and Rian, who, circle each other throughout this fun, fast-moving and often very funny novella. Even though the two beautiful people at the centre of this story are attracted to one another, there are some serious differences between them: he stands for the rule of law, and does not quite understand how her experiences on Earth have shaped her, her feelings and her chosen profession.

She is a complicated person, who firmly stands in the grey; she may not generally do anything altruistic without getting paid, and she always seems to have plans within plans, and we're never entirely sure whether what she says about herself or her intentions, are true. This proves to be the case when a calamity ensues at the auction, and Ada does something quite contrary to what she would normally do that puts her and her plans at great risk, but it also is something that could be seen as "good".

I liked how author Beth Revis gave us more about the political situation in human settled space, and how no matter how far out we expand into the galaxy, greed and corporate self-interest are still very much at play, with someone always eager to profit off someone else's catastrophe.

The ending was again left open, with a race to Earth, which is where book three will likely pick up.

I thoroughly enjoyed this instalment, which I enjoyed in text and audio; Ada is a hoot, and I love her narration, which is smart and amusing, even while she is skewering the people around her. Her attitude comes through beautifully in the narration of voice actor Dara Rosenberg, who captures the balance between audacious, slightly sad, the knowledge that she's smarter than everyone around her and delighted by it, disgusted, and very occasionally self-deprecating. Voice actor David Bendena as Rian doesn't have as big a presence this time in the audiobook as in book one, but he still treads the line between bemused, frustrated and confused when we switch to Rian's PoV.

I am anxiously awaiting book three, and the wrap-up to this fun series.

Thank you to DAW and to Dreamscape Media for these ARCs in exchange for my review.

I am loving this series! A sci-fi cat and mouse game that keeps you questioning who's the cat and who's the mouse. Plus a dash of billionaire hate and a quick make out session. This installment kept me guessing up until the very end and I can't wait for the conclusion!

I would like to thank the publisher for giving me an audio-arc in exchange for an honest review through NetGalley.

So this was book two in the series and I have a lot that I have to say. Now just have to figure out how to say it without spoiling anything from book one.

Okay. This takes place shortly after the events in book one which, by the way, were intense. Just like book one, this also has a heist. We see Ada and Rian again. And the tension between the two is just perfection. I need a spicy spicy scene with them in book three. Just throwing that out there.

Anywho, what I loved most about book one -- Ada's personality, the tension between her and Rian, the snark, the sass, the brilliant writing -- all comes back for book two and I really appreciated that. The banter is some of my favorite, and honestly I need more of it, more of them, and more of this storyline. WHat I liked about this installment vs the first was the expansion of worldbuilding in a way that didn't feel clunky. Hearing the political side of things and why Ada is doing what she's doing really brought everything into focus, and I appreciated how Beth Revis handled this expansion.

So far, this series has been amazing and I honestly cannot wait for book three to release. I love the humor and romance, I love the setting, and I just adore Ada and Rian and want to see them just go at it.

Actual Rating: 4.5 stars

Space heists, tension, and an incredibly fun FMC! I love Ada, I’m excited to see what she cooks up next. These novellas are so cozy and I’d read 100 shenanigans following these characters.

Beth Revis delivers another high-stakes, tension-filled installment in How to Steal a Galaxy, the second novella in her trilogy. Picking up from the explosive energy of Full Speed to a Crash Landing, this entry narrows its focus, unfolding almost entirely at a charity gala where Ada and Rian’s cat-and-mouse dynamic takes center stage. While the snark-heavy banter that defines Ada’s character starts to wear thin, the clever twists and misdirection that drive the plot make for an entertaining read. This installment feels more like a bridge to the finale than a story that stands strongly on its own, but the intrigue surrounding Ada’s bold moves and the fate of Earth keeps the momentum going. I’m eager to see how it all wraps up in the trilogy’s conclusion!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book.

I'm absolutely digging this series up! I had read Revis's previous one from a physical copy but loved the audio on this one. It's a good fast intro to light sci-fi with some romance. Dual narrators Dara Rosenberg and David Bendena definitely made this fun!

I loved this! I accidentally read book 2 first, but ironically, that just proved it can be read as a standalone. It was fast-paced and I loved that it was a sci-fi romance - not too much, but it was an absolutely fun ride. Highly recommend it if you're looking for a cute, different, quick read. You can read this one by itself, but I'm now going back to read the first book in Chaotic Orbits because I loved this one so much.

HOW TO STEAL A GALAXY by Beth Revis is a sequel to Full Speed to a Crash Landing, a witty blending of futuristic space adventure and attraction between space "thief" Ada Lamarr and security officer Rian White. They are re-united here at a very fancy charity gala. Ada is on a mission; and although readers are privy to her thoughts, her ultimate target remains a mystery and complications arise. Rian, keenly aware of Ada's presence, just wants to guarantee that the announcement of a new technology goes off smoothly. Together, they must thwart a third-party attempt at sabotage. The backstory involves climate change and corporate greed, adding a further twist and relevance. HOW TO STEAL A GALAXY is the LibraryReads Bonus Pick for December 2024.The audiobook, once again narrated by Dara Rosenberg and David Bendena, is excellent. The inflections in Ada's voice are spot on, aptly showcasing her "snarky," sardonic, sarcastic character. One can also hear the affection in her voice for Rian. The cliffhangers in this series - whether chapter to chapter or book to book – are plentiful and I am looking forward to the third entry in the Chaotic Orbits novella trilogy.

The second installment in Revis’ Chaotic Orbits trilogy, this sequel was another fantastic space heist! Between deciphering Ada’s plans and the chemistry between her and Rian, it was a whirlwind, start to finish. I just can’t wait for more!

Great characters and chemistry, but poor science

Four hours is half the length of a normal novel. It’s more of a serial episode.
Nice audio production value with fun music. Female lead is an enjoyable rogue and flirt. I liked the irony of how priceless Earth artifacts were auctioned off in the name of saving the planet and the Victorian cannibalism of mummies. We glimpse her first formative job in Yellowstone. The lecherous villain she hates is a rich jerk more crooked than she is, but not as smart.
Novel’s wording can be repetitive: contact with a contact, lacquered hair in lacquered waves, real items for the really rich, right now go down now, to plan for the planned release, etc.
Oversimplified and thin on worldbuilding for society, criminal activities, and no mention of star drives or other foundations until the halfway mark. At 75 percent, it mentions only *four* planets.
Words intergalactic and code overused and misused, as if sprinkling them made up for all the missing science. If it weren’t for the frequent dropping of fbombs, this could have been written for the Disney channel. Nanobots in water means bots in *people*, unable to leave the planet and eventually all killed by the hack. No one would be left alive to pay the ransom.

Let me preface this with saying that I accidentally read the second book of this series first. Now that I’m listening to the first book, I feel like more things make sense, but this second book, How to Steal a Galaxy, can still be read and enjoyed as a standalone.

How to Steal a Galaxy is a fast-paced, funny, and frankly enjoyable story. It is a very quick listen and would be a perfect book for a road trip. THe narrator is very easy to listen to and highly entertaining in their narration. It’s a wholly engrossing story to be told.

If you enjoy reading romance, but want to try a little sci-fi to spice up your read, this is the book for you! (Just remember to read this one second)

Ada is an acquisitions specialist in need of funds, but the rebel group that wants to hire her refuses to meet her price. They do convince her in the end though, with tickets to the galaxy's swankiest and most exclusive charity gala. Great food, a gorgeous dress, a seemingly impossible heist, and the one guy who she can't get out of her mind? Ada is in for one heck of a night.

It's a fun story and Ada is instantly likable. Rian is a good counterpoint for her and their banter and interactions are super fun. The world of the book and how everything works is never really explained in this book, yet there is enough information to get the gist of the importance of what Ada needs to do. The fact that it all happens in a gala and there is one excellent bait and switch in the end is just one more reason to give this one a good listen.

I do feel like I'm missing integral parts of the backstory because I didn't realize this was book 2 in a series. It's definitely not one you can just jump into without having to pay close attention and accept that some elements will never be explained. It's not impossible to enjoy without it, but it's probably better if you already read book 1.

The narration by Dara Rosenberg and David Benden gives life to the characters with animated voices that get emotions across perfectly. You can really tell when Ada's excited or Rian is annoyed, and it adds to the reading experience. I feel like a big part of my enjoyment is tied to the fact that I listened to the audiobook.

My main beef with this is that it's way too short to feel complete. It feels more like getting one installment of a novel instead of a full novel that's part of a larger series. It's not a deal breaker, but I do find it annoying when the full novel isn't released at once.

Overall, it's an interesting story that pulled me in and left me wanting more. I can't wait to read what happens next.

Very happy thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Lore for the fun listen!

Ada Lamarr finished her impromptu salvage job with the Halifax crew (and more importantly, the handsome Rian White) and is now back to her regular pastime of staying under the radar and getting paid. When a new heist pops up that’s too good to be true (cue Rian White and a gala event), she’s back at it and deep in the thick of things. There is a greater storm brewing and Ada is working to do good while having a good time too.

First this audiobook is spectacular. The narration in this series is well paced and adds color and life to these novellas. Ada’s personality is perfectly portrayed and the follow up reports and notes of Rian are relayed perfectly as well.

This is definitely a series worth reading. I love that the novellas are bites sized satisfying chunks of a greater story. It’s like seeing an episode of a show and wanting to binge watch the rest but having to wait until next week to tune in. The protagonist, Ada, is engaging and entertaining and Rian balances her character perfectly. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next novella and find out what happens next! 5 stars.

Review based on an Advanced Audiobook provided by Dreamscape Media - Dreamscape Lore and NetGalley. Thank you!

This is a great book. The narrator is fantastic, Ada is a fun morally gray protagonist and the action is described in excellent detail. There's 2 reasons I'm giving this 4 starts instead of 5. Reason 1: Do we really need this to be portioned out into a series of novellas? I think this could've worked better in one novel. Reason 2: Giving away the ending in the synopsis.

Narrated by Dara Rosenberg and David Bendena

Genre: sci-fi romance

Picking up not long after the conclusion of Full Speed to a Crash Landing, Ada Lamarr, space looter with a conscience, is on another mission for a client. It takes her to a charity gala raising money for Sol Earth (her home, and ours) where an announcement about nanobot climate cleaners is scheduled to be announced... but also where she knows she'll find the sexy government agent Rian White.

The tone of these novellas works really well for me as audiobooks: the first person POV putting us in Ada's head as she tackles difficult situations and running internal monologue delivered by Dara Rosenberg makes me laugh and cuts the tension of high stakes heists. Ada felt more the daredevil in book one, while in book two, she's calculating. Because we're getting everything from Ada's perspective, we see her machinations to topple her foes and bask in her gleeful exultation. She's a main character I love to see in science fiction.

Like I said in my review for Crash Landing: Ada is snarky and unrepentant, making for a very fun POV who hit the spot. I love a heist, I love a romantic arc, and I love when that all clicks in a SF setting.

Just as good as book 1! This was a blast and I cannot wait for #3.

I continue to love Ada as a main character and her dynamic with Rian is so much fun! I also really like that this series doesn't shy away from difficult topics like climate change and capitalism while still remaining upbeat and fun.

Also the narration is perfect, Dara Rosenberg does an amazing job of bringing Ada to life.
