I am not an audio person, but I love this series so decided to give it a shot and the narration was fantastic.
This book has love triangles, secrets, meddling gods, and magic! I love the writing in this book and the magic system. Definitely had some twists that I was not expecting and excited to see how the story continues and see the relationships between the character continue to grow.
There was so much tension in this book. And so many feelings. The push and pull between the different characters and what they were feeling for each other. Rain just has a feeling of home even though I wish he would just say what he feels. The flanter between Xander and Cece brought a smile to my face. Had to get over the instalove but Xander definitely grew on me throughout the book. Sheila does an amazing job of really making you feel for the characters and I just have this gut feeling she plans to devastate us in the future.

Wow! Absolutely loved this audiobook! There’s a huge love triangle in this book and I can’t choose what side I’m on. Both of the MMCs have their flaws but so many pros that it’s hard to pick one. This book makes me want to jump into book 2 asap or spoil the series for myself but there’s not much info on the internet for this series, which is bewildering, because I enjoyed it so much. I saw 3 narrators on this audio book so I thought there would be more male POVs, but the male POVs are only one chapter each at the end. I’m assuming there might be more in book 2, so I found this a little disappointing, since I like breaking up the audio with the deeper male voices, instead of having the female narrator lower her voice for the male dialogue. But I still enjoyed it and can’t wait for book 2.

4.5⭐️
I listened to the ALC of this as it has been on my TBR some time and I absolutely loved it! I am a sucker for a love triangle and this book absolutely delivered. I honestly can’t decide if I’m team Xander or Rainer but Xander is winning currently. It also absolutely delivered the feminine rage vibes I need right now as the FMC fought to determine her own future as a woman rather than do what she is expected to do.
The audiobook was excellent and I really enjoyed the narrator!
I can’t wait to find time to continue this series!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an ALC in exchange for my honest review!

This book started out sort of slow, but gradually picked up. It sucked me in by the 25% mark. The MFC is strong and stubborn, as we all like to see. The MMCs are both kind, caring, and plot twisty! Which we all love. The story follows our MFC as she journeys through not only a true journey, but also her bid for independence and love. THe spice isn't too spicy. I listened to tit on an Audiobook version and LOVED it. The narrator was spot on. I think it would have been a touch better if she either altered her voice a bit more for the male characters, or if a male narrator had been included. Overall everyone should read this!!

I very much enjoyed listening to this audiobook, I had seen this book on Goodreads a while back and had added it to my tbr. The trio of narrators went so well together. I’m someone who likes to listen on a higher speed and I was still able to stay in the story. Instantly fell in love with the characters and plot of this story. The magic system being based on memory is so unique. There was so much about the idea that Celia’s power dissolved as soon as she finished the trials and would be made to marry. Even though I thought her being the lost god was an obvious plot line I was shook by Xander’s reveal. And the events that unfolded after 50%
The spice was also very good especially giving I don’t know this book has spice going into it. I usually am not a fan of love triangles but damn… I’m team Rainer.
Looking forward to continuing the series on audio. Especially seeing how Celia’s character will develop .
Thank you to NetGalley and dreamscape audio for providing this arc in return for my honest review

Cecilia is a memory witch bound to her guardian Rainer since childhood. The pair have grown up together and in recent years come dangerously close to crossing the line that keeps them from being more. Their final adventure together before Cecilia returns to a provincial married life takes a drastic turn when they collide with a hunter. The road to freedom has more obstacles now but Cecilia is determined to take control of her life in any way she can.
The Lost God is a romantasy with a pretty good balance of romance and fantasy, and it’s incredibly fast-paced, so a good option for readers who struggle with drawn out world building and journeys. In saying that, I am always more invested in the fantasy end of a romantasy and the fantasy elements were underwhelming in this book. As mentioned, the plot moves very quickly and the story suffers as a result in my opinion. I love the concept and any fantasy books about old or dead gods impacting the world, so I needed to know more about them. The world was also minimally described and the author really relies on you filling in the gaps yourself.
The romance is a mess, I was just perplexed the entire time I was listening to the audiobook. We have a love triangle HEAVY on insta-love (which admittedly I don’t care for) which again made it feel like the book was taking place over the span of 10 minutes? The whole time I just wanted to say ‘girl be for real’. The author was clearly trying to imply tension but the tension was non-existent. The main relationship didn’t feel organic, but I actually did like the chemistry between the other pair in the triangle. It’s giving Katniss and Gale if Katniss was an idiot. Outside of the romance dynamic, I didn’t like Cecilia as a FMC very much, she just constantly made dumb decisions and failed to put two and two together, it was exhausting. MMC has the charm of a wet sponge. The side characters were the most enjoyable among the cast and did provide some great moments.
Also cringey smut.
Very little about this book worked for me, but I do think if you ready romantasy for the romance and don’t care much for the fantasy elements, AND you enjoy the tropes included you would probably like this book/series. I don’t plan to continue.

This book takes you on a whirlwind of adventures and emotions and the narration makes it 3629382 times better! I laughed, I cried, I RAGED. I cannot wait to hear the rest of this series! By far my top favorite!!

This was an amazing audiobook!
Kingdoms at war, meddling gods, forbidden romance, love triangle, forced bonds, magic, spice, hidden identities, adventure, plot twist, betrayal . It has it ALL!
Shelia has created an amazing unique magical world that you can’t help but get entrapped in. She has created characters that you love and feel for deeply.
The narrators did a phenomenal job bringing the characters to life and truly added to the experience of this book.

This is one of my favorite series ever. The Lost God is a story of a bad ass female who happens to be both an heiress and a memory witch (with a killer bow aim). She’s honestly such a powerhouse character.
Cecilia and her bonded guardian, Rainer, have to set off to complete various tasks in order to release magic back to her people. An unexpected guest ends up joining them on the journey, a Hunter (cue Xander, the love of my life), who joins the journey to help.
There is countless banter. A semi love triangle, but not a why choose. Magic. Spice. Magic bonds. Emotional damage. Found family.
Definitely pick this up if you love heavy romance with a decent plot. Each book in this series just gets better and better so that’s why I rated this a 4!

Thank you to Dreamscape Media. I was lucky enough to receive an advanced listener copy of The Lost God. The first time I read The Lost God, I was struck by how much I saw myself in Cece. This series tackles every hidden illness and thought any person experiencing life. Sheila has given us characters that we can fall in love with, yell at, and relate with. The story of a lost goddess finding her way in life, getting lost, and reaching out for a hand. The audiobook was done so beautifully. Caitlin did an amazing job portraying Cece. Will and Time were made for their roles as Xander and Rainer. I cannot wait to see this story come alive. If you're looking for a new series to fall in love with that has a strong FMC with feminine rage and romance, this is the series for you.

Sheila Masterson’s The Lost God brings you into a fascinating world of magic and folklore, full of characters who feel real and relatable. The story features Cece, a memory witch with the ability to dig up forgotten truths with a single touch, Rainer, a loyal guardian who is soul-bound to Cece, and Xander, a hunter who’s tasked with safeguarding Cece and Rainer from villainous witch hunters. Things get complicated, and a love triangle ensues.
I adore this series and was so excited to experience it once again in audiobook form. While my preference is reading physical or digital copies, this retelling by Caitlyn Kelly has convinced me to add audiobooks to my reading repertoire. It was such a delight to revisit these characters and their world, and listening to it made me fall in love with The Lost God all over again. I can't wait for the rest of the series on audiobook and to Caitlyn and the rest of the cast expertly bringing this world to life.

I think I would have really liked this book if it didn’t have a love triangle. Magic seems interesting but we don’t get a ton of world building. This is more romance than fantasy. FMC is hit or miss for me. She can be incredibly smart and incredibly silly. Narrators were good.
I received an arc from netgalley and the publisher.

I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH.
This is my second time reading this book and I loved it so much on audio!! I already want to reread it.

What an absolute treat to relive The Lost God through audio and connect the characters to voices! It was like falling in love all over again.
Cecilia, a wild, memory witch, and her rule-following guardian and best friend, Rainer, are on their final gauntlet run to restore lost power to their kingdom. During their quest, a hunter named Xander was sent by Cece’s father, to accompany them because threats from the enemy kingdom are growing. The trio navigates deeper into enemy territory and encounters meddling gods, ghostly battles, and heartbreaking revelations and sacrifices.
TLG is fast-paced and loaded with emotion, adventure, magic, betrayal and romance!
The narrators are perfect! Caitlin Kelly is a flawless Cece! We hear mainly Cece’s POV until the end when we hear a chapter from each Rainer and Xander. I cannot wait for the rest of the series to listen to their voices intertwine.
Sheila created the most brilliant, captivating world and characters. A new level of excitement, connection and appreciation was unlocked - that I didn't think was possible because I was already obsessed and over the moon for this series!
Thank you so much to Sheila, Dreamscape Media & NetGalley for the gifted ALC!

This is such an amazing start to the series!! I seriously cannot wait to dive into the rest of it! (And it’s a completed series friends!!!!) Cecilia is a badass memory witch and Rainer is her guardian, and they are besties who were paired together as children to complete something called the Gauntlet. In order to do so, they have to venture into the enemy kingdoms territory, where they run into many unforeseen obstacles along the way! There’s also the very handsome and flirtatious mystery man who enters the mix 👀 This story has a veryyy patriarchal society (and an FMC who loves to rebel against it!), meddling gods, so much steamy romance, and a plethora of adventure. Absolutely adored the world building! I need to continue my journey in this world asap!
This was my second time through this book so it’s definitely overdue for me to continue and I enjoyed this one even more the second time around! Plus, the audiobook was so SO good!! Truly brought the story to life and was done so well! Excited for the rest of the series to come out on audio!

The Lost God focuses on Cecilia, a Memory Witch who always thought she knew the direction her life would go. She is bound to Rainer, her guardian, who she is helplessly in love with, but who she is never allowed to pursue. An unexpected series of events causes her to meet Xander, and things change drastically. Her world is in peril, and she must figure out how to move forward.
I'll be honest... usually love triangles drive me insane, but this one... this one... whew. There are times when each of the three of them drove me crazy and others when I was obsessed. Normally, I pick a "winner" fairly early on, but this one has me wishing for a why choose? No one is perfect, and they are a deliciously messy combo.
Can't wait to see how things progress with the relationships, drama, and magic!
Having read the book a while ago, I still really enjoyed the audio version! It mentions three narrators, but the Caitlin narrates the bulk of the story, and Will and Tim pop in at the end. Caitlin does a great job at differentiating characters and narrating, in general. I speed up audiobooks and was able to get to 2x+ without issue. I am excited to see how narration is handled for the following books!
Thanks to Sheila, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for an ALC of this audiobook for an honest review.

The Lost God is the first book in the Lost Gods Series by author Sheila Masterson. In the Lost God we meet our main character, Cecilia who is strong with a little bit of a reckless streak. I really liked her and she was easy to root for. There is a love triangle present in the book, and I know people either love those or hate them so I wanted to point that out. I enjoy a love triangle if it is done well, and I really liked this one.
Cecilia is on a quest to release the lost god, and along the way she is joined by Rainer (her guardian) and Xander. I loved that there was a lot of romance in this book, and the pacing kept everything flowing along. A lot happens so there was really never a dull moment. I am super excited to continue on with the series and read the Memory Curse really soon! if you are a fan of fantasy romance with magic, lost gods, quest style adventures then I think you will really enjoy this book. And the narration was good. Although almost all of the book was told from Cecilia POV.

The Lost God by Sheila Masterson audiobook is soooo good! I wasn't expecting it to be so good. So so good. I recommend everyone to read this book as fast as they can because it's really good.

Thank you so much to Sheila for the opportunity to read and review this audiobook. I enjoyed The Lost God on initial read and was excited to revisit it as an audiobook. The narrator captured Cece so well along with Rainer and Xander. The journey everyone goes on is an Epic one, full of growth and pain and happiness. I'm excited to see how future audiobooks are adapted.

This romantasy series has been out for a few years and is now being released as an audiobook. It features three narrators, but 99.9% of the book is told from Cecelia's point of view, with the afterward including perspectives from our two male characters. All the narrators did a fantastic job of bringing the story to life.
The book follows Cecelia, a memory witch bound to her guardian, Rainer, since she was six years old. They share a soul bond, and she is in love with him, though her feelings are unreciprocated. Enter the mysterious hunter, Xander, who pays attention to her and allows her to be herself. Cecelia and Rainer are on a quest to complete the Gauntlet, a years-long journey meant to unleash the power of a lost god. Xander has been sent by Cecelia’s father to keep an eye on her, which complicates things.
The story is heavy on romance, with an 80/20 ratio of romance to other elements. It incorporates interesting mythology and magical systems, as well as battles and moments of death. However, the primary focus remains on the romance and Cecelia’s journey to understand the terms of the Gauntlet. I enjoyed the story and liked the characters, particularly Cecelia, who is adept in both battle and magic; she doesn't rely on others to save her and is more than capable of handling herself.
The love triangle that develops features one guy who falls for her first and ends up falling harder. There are a few spicy scenes included as well. Additionally, the narrative explores intriguing political dynamics between two warring kingdoms, including a tense moment when Cecelia and her friends venture behind enemy lines, resulting in the deaths of beloved characters. While the story is primarily romance-driven, it also weaves in fantastic fantasy elements that keep the plot engaging, ensuring readers root for the characters and experience an emotional rollercoaster.
