A riveting psychological thriller with single-white-female/Motherland vibes. A page-turner that’s definitely worth a read!

The book was full on suspense thriller. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop at any point. The twists were unexpected and I quite enjoyed it despite normally not enjoying such books. I must say the less you know going in, the better. It’s truly a unique and creepy story. The only downside for me, and the 4 stars was the slowness of it all. It builds up for quite a while before the big reveals that makes everything just fit.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advance copy of this book. The Doll's House is a must-read for fans of psychological dramas with a touch of gothic intrigue. I look forward to reading more from Natasha Boydell in the future!

Remember the movie “Single White Female”? Well that’s the vibes this book was giving. A really tense read I read in one sitting and stayed up till 4am to finish.
Naomi and Oliver sell their first flat to move to the house of their dreams with their two young daughters. Summer, the buyer of the flat has soon infiltrated the friendship group and begins dressing like Naomi. She is a mysterious character and Naomi is sure she has some kind of vendetta against her.
Suspenseful and tense with a surprising ending, this is a great thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Many thanks to author, publisher and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for my honest review

This is my kind of book! I got lost in this story and couldn't put the book down!!!
Though I didn't feel any real connection to Naomi I felt sorry for her as Summer began isolating her and taking her friends and causing trouble for her. Summer is the perfect villian in this story and the author did an excellent job of writing her.
This was my first book by this author and it won't be my last. I love her writing style and the way she kept my interest in the story. I liked that this was a fast paced story that kept me reading for hours without stopping.
I definitely recommend this book to people who enjoy thrillers. This was a great book and one I would read again.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion which I have given.

The premise for this one seems so promising, but unfortunately, I didn’t love this one. I was just irritated with her family/friends for not giving her the benefit of the doubt vs. jumping on new girl’s bandwagon. Just didn’t feel credible to me. I do appreciate the advance copy from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review,

This Suburban Mom thriller is a twisty, crazy ride! Rounded up to 4.5
Naomi and her husband have saved up to buy their dreamhouse. A place where each of their girls will have their own room, and plenty of space for everyone. But the people that were going to buy their flat had to pull out of the deal, so they are set to give up on the house. Then their realtor calls to let them know that a single mom that had put an offer in was still interested in buying. Naomi meets Summer, and is excited to sell the flat to her. She also seems to make a connection to her, and is also excited that Summer has a 7 year old daughter- the same age as Freya, Naomi's daughter. However, things don't go as Naomi had hoped. Summer buys the house. Then Summer ingratiates herself in the PTA mom and dad group that Naomi is part of- these are Naomi's closest friends. Then Summer cuts and dyes her hair like Naomi, and starts dressing like her. No one seems to notice, as they have all become completely enamored of her. And strange things start happening: break-ins where odd things are taken, the feeling of being followed and watched. And then, Freya and Luna (Summer's daughter0 start to have issues that involve meanness and bullying. When Naomi starts to look into it, and try to discover who Summer really is, her friends begin to think that it is Naomi who is going off the deep end.
I really liked Naomi. She is very relatable. She is feeling anxiety and fear, and becomes mama bear when it starts to involve her children. She feels alone because none of her friends see what is happening, and think it is in her head. Her husband is patient with her, and loves her- but even he thinks she is over-reacting. There were times when I wanted to yell at her and tell her to stop- but at the same time I understand a mother's instinct to fight for and protect your children. We are not always level headed when something involves our child. (But it was a tad annoying in one part- thus the deduction of half a star!).
Although Oliver questions his wife, he still supports and listens to her. Eventually he realizes what has been going on, and jumps in to support her.
And Freya and Bella are written very well as a 7 year old, and a teen. Their response and reactions came across as very realistic.
Summer seems likable. Then she just starts to get very creepy. I kept trying to figure out what was going on, and why she was doing what she did.
The pacing was fast. I was so engaged in the situations Naomi found herself in, and wanted to know what the end game was. Then, that twis toward the end- WHOA! I did not have it figured out! It was a bit unsettling- but what a great read!!
I highly recommend this, especially is you like twisty drama centered around a small community! I have never read anything by this author- but I will rectify that immediately!
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. Lots of twists and turns throughout. It had creepy elements along the way and my brain was always asking more and more questions. I had a few thoughts on the reveal and what it might be but turned out my thoughts were wrong. The ending was supervising and that's all you can ask for in thrillers after reading so many of them over the years. Thanks Netgalley for the ARC.

This was a fun one, focused on Naomi, who sells her house to a newcomer named Summer who seems to have become fixated on her. The only issue is that no one else is seeing what Naomi sees, and she alienates her family and friends while also living in fear of what Summer will do next.
This book was very twisty and fraught with tension throughout. The author did a good job of making even the most innocuous scenes seem suspenseful. The only thing I had a bit of an issue with is that Naomi’s close friends were not more supportive of her- no matter how things looked, it struck me as odd that they didn’t stand by her. The end of the book was a big twist that I did not see coming, and it was well done by being surprising but not so out of left field as to not feel realistic.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one and thought it has the perfect amount of suspense, not to mention a good surprise ending. Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have only read one other book by this author who is new to me and this one was written in a slightly different style to the one I had previously read. I enjoyed this one and have since gone on to read two more from this authors back Catalogue.
This thriller had me gripped from the beginning and read it in almost one sitting it had a very chilling vibe and was quite creepy in parts and lots of twists and turns.
This story would make a good tv adaptation.

This book was very interesting and kept me reading. It has a good twist at the end. I really enjoyed this book and I cant wait to read other books from this author!

This was mostly just weird. I liked it and I could somewhat relate but I also just found it weird.
The ending was fantastic.

Wow this book!!
What a ride, all the way through you are questioning who is the crazy one! It’s infuriating in the best way 🤣
I really really enjoyed this one, it’s a refreshingly different plot to the usual psych thrillers, and very relatable for all those school run Mums!
Thank you for allowing me to ARC read this book.

Naomi's house was up for sale. Summer wants to buy it. Her offer is finally accepted and Naomi can finally move into the house of her dreams.
This story follows two women whose lives are brought together when Summer wants to but Naomi's house. Summer's daughter, Luna, will be attending the same school as Naomi's daughters, Freya and Bella. Everything is fine until Naomi notices #summer has started wearing the same clothes and copying her hairstyle. She's also inviting Naomi's friends for a get-together without inviting Naomi. Summer even has some of Naomi's belongings of which she must have stolen.
The pace is mostly steady, but it does take a little dip around the middle. It's quite a creepy read. I was hooked by the prologue. It was quite a predictable read, but that never spoils a book for me id the story is good. This is a captivating read, I couldn't put it down. The plot was complex and intriguing.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #BoldwoodBooks and the author #NatashaBoydell for my ARC of #TheDollsHouse in exchange for an honest review.

I lean closer to a 3.5 maybe, but I couldn't quite give it 4 stars. The book had me hooked at the beginning and I found it to be a very quick read. However, I became annoyed with most of the characters pretty quickly and was disappointed that I had to wait until I was about 75% of the way through the book for something truly gripping and twisty to happen. Mostly it just felt like a bunch of caddy women who never grew out of highschool. Once the twists happened I wished the book didn't end so that they could be expanded on further.
Thank you Netgalley, Boldwood Books and Natasha Boydell for this ARC of The Doll's House.

Woah what a brilliant psychological thriller this is. There are so many twists and turns, some that took me by surprise more than others. From the very first page I was totally hooked and couldn’t put this down. It really was a ‘I’ll just read one more chapter’ type of book. When Naomi and Oliver sell their flat they have no idea that the new owner Summer will become so intense in integrating herself into Naomi’s life. She starts to dress like her and monopolise the tight friendship group that Naomi is part of. The question is why?? This is so tense and I really liked how you could see the thought processes of each character, giving an understanding of their actions. Very cleverly written. Highly recommend! Thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the ARC

The Doll's House
This was a good novel, the characters were awesome, well described and introduced in a timely manner so as to remember who is who. Loved the setting and plot. Great twists and turns that I didn't see coming
Some parts dragged a bit for me, I wanted more action and drama at times, but I'd definitely read more novels by this author.

Thank you Netgalley, Boldwood Books and Natasha Boydell for this Arc of The Doll's House.
Here I sit a few hours after finishing this book, trying to figure out what to say in this box....
Although I can't distinctly pick out anything I didn't like about this book, my feelings are quite complicated.. I think my rating is more of a 3.5 rounded up than a 4. I just feel kinda Meh..
The Prolouge grips you up, it draws you in pretty quick, it's a very fast paced, easy story to read. I found myself falling asleep and waking myself back up saying come on just a little more, I didn't want to put it down, I probably read about 2/3rds of the book then finished the rest in the morning. All that makes it sound like I loved it right.. ehhh there wasn't much to love about it honestly, it was all pretty predictable from the start, you kind of found yourself saying "duhh" to the main character, like hello how did you not expect that to happen next right!? It would be hard for me to think of a character I actually really liked in this story, I mean besides her and her family which is obviously set up to make you feel that way, but all of her friends were pretty generic, none really stood out to make you root for anyone, at one point even the husband was kind of questionable.
One thing I did REALLY LOVE- The second you thought you had it figured out the Author smacked you in the face with another twist. I really loved that, that made a really great ending. But I mean should you have to read a whole book just to finally have an "aha moment" at the end!? No you should be excited about what you're reading all the way through and I just didn't feel it, at the end I was kinda like really!?! Just forgive everyone just like that !? Like i felt like her and her kids were owed a lot more, they kind of went through hell just to get out of it not really gain anything spectacular.. then again the ending where Summer is writing grips you up again and makes you want more. I felt like maybe if we had more of her POV the story might have been a little more exciting.. or maybe confusing.. lol but still it would have gripped you up a bit more.. like what is this wacko going to do next!!?!?!
Funny thing is, with all that said, I can't really think of anything that could have happened to make the story better imo, I felt like everything happened that should have, it's wrapped up. Let's move on the the next

Two days till Christmas, and boy, are we busy here at my house getting things ready.
But I just had to finish this amazing thriller before doing anything else!
From the first page, I was completely drawn into the story and was so hooked that I couldn't put it down.
They say Imitation is the sincerest form if flattery, but is it really when someone is trying to steal your life out from under you, and has you questioning your own sanity?
This psychological thriller has an intricately woven plot, creative and compelling characters, suspense, stalking, and gaslighting, which made for an intense and intriguing read.
I normally can guess how most thrillers are going to end, but the final twist in this book staggered me, and the last few pages of the epilogue were just chilling. I think it definitely needs a sequel 👀
I highly recommend 4/5 🌟

This is a tense read that had me screaming at the characters to open their eyes. I couldn't believe how easily they were taken in. I really admired Naomi's determination to track down the truth even in the face of several shocks. This is a good read with a couple of great twists from an author who is new to me.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book

Loved it.... Simply put. Recently I've found it hard to find a thriller that I can't put down but this was one of those that you're like "just 1 more chapter" and before you know it, it's 3am.
I could identify with your main character, mum Naomi. If you've ever had primary school aged children you know the dreaded school runs, cliques of mums, PTA crew, the awkward where do I stand and wait etc. The author got this perfectly, I just know she's spent many an awkward year doing those awful pickups/drop offs. I just felt so connected to Naomi which to me makes you care about that main character and I felt the same frustration and hurt that she did when all of her so called friends turn against her.
I will certainly be adding #NatashaBoydell to my favourite author list. However, my only negative would be the books title #TheDollsHouse as I don't really think that it was too relevant to the plot.
Such a great unpredictable read, especially for mums. We all hate the Christmassacre of the school fayre too....
