Thanks to NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for the digital copy of this audiobook; I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was a really great listen! The narrator's tone and pacing would keep any child interested in space engaged, and probably some that aren't that interested in the topic.
I will be recommending to our county library system to purchase this book!
What an amazing first in depth look at the moon for aspiring space enthusiasts! I am looking forward to purchasing a hard copy as this is perfect for a home library reference with knowledge that is appealing to both young and old. At almost 40 years old I learned some new things. Very well done audiobook. The music, the speed and the clarity of the narrator was perfect. Engaging tone to capture childrens attention. It's nice to see a strong, articulate, knowledgeable woman writer. Writer. A great influence for our future! I did go ahead and Google some images to get a full picture of the book and they are beautifully done and detailed. Very captivating. Well done!
This was a fun book to listen to with my five year old son. He is very interested in space! So, this was the perfect book to listen to with him. We both found the book interesting and entertaining! I definitely recommend listening to this fun audiobook!
Loved this fun kids story! Listened with my 3 & 5 year old and they laughed and giggled throughout the whole story!
Written as part survival guide, part possible fiction, this non fiction space book is informative and fun. In "How to Survive on the Moon" we learn all about how astronauts prepare for space travel, space travel to the moon in the near future, and what creating a habitat on the moon could look like. This one will expand your imagination and you will certainly leave knowing more than you knew before about the moon and space exploration projects currently in development.
The narrator was great. Overall, the book was well written and I did really enjoy it. Thank you for this advance reading copy!
This audiobook is well done for children. It's interesting and fast paced but not too fast. The background music and noises are also flawlessly included. They add to the story instead of detracting from it. This is a great book for the classroom or for parents whose kids are interested in space.
That was great! very informative and not boring in anyway. everyone loved it here!! keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent resource for children interested in space travel. It not only provides what to do on the moon, but how it can prepare future space travelers for a trip to Mars. The glossary at the end of the book is very informative too.
We really enjoyed the narrator! We didn't like how some of the facts were laid out. For example, the narrator would read ,"you are..." and then give the information to back that up, which left my MG listeners asking if that part was already true, not just something that could happen. However, that did lead to some fun conversations. Overall, a quick and easy read but the style felt off for a nonfiction audiobook.
I thought this was a very engaging book about the moon and space exploration. I thought it did a great job of sharing facts about the moon, technology, and space exploration, while engaging children's imagination to consider what it would be like to live on the moon.
Thank you to Netgalley and the author/publisher for a copy of this book.
This audiobook was really interesting and a fun little read. The narrator did a great job and it kept me engaged throughout the audiobook. This would be a great way for kids to learn about space and a great conversation starter for a family.
We loved this book!! We listened to it while doing a homeschooling mini unit on moon phases. It had a ton of info but was also funny and engaging for my kids, We will definitely be adding this book to our shelf when it releases.
Thank you to the author and NetGalley for this ARC!
I received a copy of this audiobook from netGalley for a honest review.
What a fun way to learn about space and the possibilities of living on the moon! I was intrigued by so many of the ideas as were the kids listening with me. It's a great conversation starter about what would you do in these situations? and What would you like to be on the moon?
This was a huge hit with my six-year-old future astronaut! As soon as it finished, he asked me if there’s another one about surviving on Mars!
This was just as much fun as it sounded like it would be. The author did great research and had a humorous way of explaining things. I enjoy science fiction stories, and this was as entertaining as any other story. She explains everything, including practical things like not being able to go to the bathroom. I recommend this for all ages. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me listen to this fantastic little audiobook.
This non-fiction prediction of life on the moon, or better yet, on Mars will absolutely appeal to young and old! I was amazed at the possibilities laid out in this audiobook, and loved that the author had researched all of the information. The narrator was easy to listen to and it felt like listening to an interesting podcast as I drove or worked. Part of the appeal for me was that this wasn't as long as most audiobooks, but it was longer than a podcast. For me, it hit the goldilocks spot in length and content.
I know my own sons will enjoy this, and I will recommend the audiobook and physical book of How to Survive on the Moon to schools and libraries alike.
