Thanks to Netgally and the publisher for an advanced copy of the audio book in exchange for an honest review!
This story is told mainly from 3 different neighbor'a perspectives: Willow, Heidi, and Dylan. Willow is a wife to Gabe, a mother to teenage Isabella, and has recently started taking college classes. Heidi and her husband, Freddy have just moved into the neighborhood and Heidi is starting to think her husband is hiding something. Dylan is a widow and a father to 7 year old Orla, and he hasn't stopped trying to find the person who murdered his wife 3 years ago. The story goes between the "future" (after the infamous street party), the past (the week prior to the party), and the present (when a detective is talking to witnesses to gather information).
I found this book to be somewhat suspenseful, though I wouldn't exactly call it "unputdownable". There were several twists in the last 10ish% of the book, and though they were good, i wouldn't consider them shocking or something you wouldn't see coming. Overall I thought this book was fine. The narrators did an excellent job, and I really liked hearing the different perspectives in different voices in each chapter.
This book was a great twisty neighborhood domestic thriller that sucked me in right from the start. Told from the POV of three of the main characters and across multiple time lines, it definitely kept me on my toes and wanting to get all of the pieces of the story.
Full of secrets, this one will leave you wondering how well you really know those close to you and who you can trust. I couldn't wait to get a chance to keep listening. The narration was great and the different characters helped keep the story sorted and kept me engaged. If you're looking for an engaging, twisty book - this one is for you. Put it on your TBR and be prepared to be entertained.
Home Is Where The Lies Live by Kerry Wilkinson. Releasing on 5 December. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the fabulous audio book. As the book is told from Heidi, Willow and Dylan’s points of view, there are three narrators and they all draw you into the story.
Everyone seems so friendly and kind in Huntington Grove. When married couple Heidi and Freddie move into the street, all the new neighbours are quick to pop over to say hello. You have Willow and Gabe and their teenage daughter Isabella who live across the road. Willow is always fighting with Isabella and Gabe disappears in the middle of the night – where does he go?
Dylan and his 7 year old daughter, Orla live next to Willow. Three years previously Dylan’s wife was viciously attacked and the police never arrested anyone for the murder. Rumours abound that the police were investigating Dylan as the guilty person.
Why has Freddie locked one of the doors in the new house? He says he is using it as his office, but why does it need to be locked?
Alison lives a couple of houses further down and is in charge of the street party and is always cheery and upbeat. Her husband works abroad, but why does Heidi hear raised voices in the house if Alison is supposedly living on her own?
Between the chapters from the main characters, you hear police interviewing people after a street party which turned into mayhem with the police arriving and someone being led off in cuffs.
I loved how the story unfolded. There were so many people keeping secrets that you never knew who was going to be the one being arrested or for what crime. You really don’t know what happens behind closed doors in a quiet neighbourhood.
I give this a solid 4.5 out of 5.
3.5⭐️ rounded up.
I had trouble eating this one. On one hand I enjoyed listening to 90% of this book. It was layered and smartly written. I more place it as a drama with a little bit of thriller thrown in. I enjoyed the British setting but that is a particular interest of mine.
The story surrounds an incident at a Street party (block party for Americans) where a shooting takes place and then multiple points of view with the week preceding it for the most part. Many secrets and lies are divulged along the way.
I listened to the audio ALC and The narrators did a great job. This was a mutual cast audio which helped keep some of the many characters straight. I listened to most of it at 1.5x and it was perfect.
Now the 10% i didn’t enjoy or maybe it was only 5% but basically it was the ending where the culprit is revealed. It seemed out of nowhere. I’ve read a few books like this of late were the “twist” had nothing underneath it. A good twist is where the reader gets shocked but then all the support facts fall into place. But when the support facts just aren’t there it fails.
But overall it was an enjoyable read.
I am thankful to have gotten the audio ALC for free from Netgalley and Bookouture Audio to enjoy which gave me the opportunity to voluntarily leave a review.
My rating system since GoodReads doesn’t have partial stars and I rarely round up.
⭐️ Hated it
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, really not my cup of tea (potentially DNF’d or thought about it)
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but nothing special
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed it! Would recommend to others
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! Will circle back and read again
Huntington Grove has new residents. All is not as it should be for various residents. Freddie keeps a room locked and only he holds the key, willow’s husband sneaks out of his home during the night and Dylan has yet to come to terms with his wife’s murder. The street will come together for a summer party but will it be a happy day?
Enjoyed this well written and well narrated novel (I listened to the audiobook). Good characters, all with their own issues. Lots goes on behind closed doors and not everything can be resolved.

Our Huntington Grove narrating neighbors are:
Heidi, Willow & Dylan ~ each having a secret or discovering one.
The pace was steady. The secrets were good ones. IMO there were a couple of unnecessary plot points with the teenage daughter and a mother in law that I don't feel added anything to the story. I guess it's a bit of a dual timeline since we have 'The Future' chapters that slowly bring the intriguing introduction to light even though it only takes place during a week .
Overall, I was entertained throughout. I wasn't really shocked about who the shooter was, but I was happy it was done. Definitely more on the drama side than thriller, which was fine with me. It's one of the better ones I've read from this author.
Narration notes:
Whoop whoop for 3! I was pleased with each of their performances.
Home Is Where The Lies Live by Carrie Wilkinson, when the book starts, we meet Heidi her and husband Freddie have just moved into the neighborhood and while she had spent the last week packing, he was at the new home and she is totally taken a back when he tells her he’s decided to have a home office and will keep the door locked. what’s more intriguing than the lock door and on top of how Freddie reacted when confronted with their neighbor and fellow classmate of his and his strange reaction to it. unfortunately, across the street, classmate and neighbor Willow is having problems of her own. Her husband sneaks out her daughter acts like she hates her and she still fighting with her daughter’s father after being divorced for years.
Next-door to Willow lives Dylan with the seven-year-old daughter Orla, who he would do anything to protect. He spent his night sitting in the living room, holding a gun and his days while Orla is at an activity at the local courthouse, hoping to see the man that murdered his wife. In the interim in between all these POV‘s police officer is interviewing different eyewitnesses and character witnesses to find out what happened at the block party they had in this neighborhood where someone was shot. by the end of the book, all of these neighbors will have their life changed forever some for better and some will be devastated and some will just have new neighbors. I love Carrie Wilkinson‘s books, and I did enjoy this one, but this was more women’s fiction and drama as opposed to a thriller. I also wish I would’ve read the Kindle version as opposed to the audiobook all the narrators to the great job, I don’t like when they have multiple narrators that make the same character sound different with each performers narrative. also, I thought the guy doing Dylan‘s voice almost made him too serious and it didn’t jive with the love. He showed his seven-year-old daughter, but that’s not to say he doesn’t have a great voice and also sounded quite hot, but I didn’t get the lovable Daddy vibe from him. also, Gabe got on my nerves with his “I know you are but what am I” attitude? I mean, what a baby. He said that there’s much more to this book than what I put in this review and I think most people will enjoy this book especially if you love women’s fiction, if you love multiple cast, then try the audiobook. All the performers were good and some were even great. #NetGalley, #BookouchureAudio, #CarrieWilkinson, #HomeIsWhereTheLiesLive,
In a quiet neighborhood, new residents Heidi and Freddie seem friendly but keep a locked door in their house. Across the street, Willow struggles with her marriage and wonders about her husband's late-night activities. She befriends Dylan, whose wife was murdered. As the neighbors come together for a summer party, secrets come to light and one resident is arrested. Everyone at the party has something to hide, but who has a secret worth killing for? This thrilling novel explores the dark secrets hidden behind closed doors.
Have you ever wondered what really goes on in those upscale neighborhoods? The answer lies within Kerry's book. Kerry's unique writing style effortlessly transports readers into the heart of the action, providing a glimpse into both past events and current developments. This back-and-forth narrative keeps readers engaged and eager to uncover the truth.
Narrated by three talented individuals, the audiobook brings the story to life with their energetic and captivating performances. Their ability to embody various characters and maintain the story's momentum is truly commendable.
Within the pages of this book, readers will encounter a diverse cast of characters, each grappling with their own inner turmoil and everyday challenges. While it may take a moment to familiarize oneself with each character, the narrators do an exceptional job of helping listeners distinguish between them.
For those who relish unexpected plot twists and turns, this book is must-read. Filled with shocking revelations and family drama, it promises to keep readers on the edge of their seats. Prepare yourself for a cleverly crafted story that defies expectations at every turn!
Thank you, Bookouture Audio for audio ARC copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I liked the book but didn’t love it. There were a lot of characters and storylines and I found it a bit hard to remember all of them. The first half of the book was a bit slow but the second half picked up and I enjoyed how they wrapped up everything in the end.
I will consider reading another book by Kerry Wilkinson. Matthew Spencer, Rebecca Lee and Julia Barrie did an excellent job with the narration.
Thank you to NetGalley & Bookoture Audio for letting me read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I enjoyed this book! I love a good mystery, especially one that involves a move to a new neighborhood where everyone has secrets. This book gives off Desperate Housewives vibes!
Take this review with a grain of salt because I feel like I need to read the actual book and not the audiobook. My rating is really just in regards to the narration.
It was awful. The voices of the narrators were terrible. It was like nails on a chalkboard which really sucks because I feel like the book had a great premise and once it comes out I will read it but the audiobook is a thumbs down from me
A great twisty domestic thriller centred around the inhabitants of Huntington Grove. Told from three different points of view and across different time lines this one definitely keeps you on your toes!
There were three different narrators used in the audiobook which made it much easier to keep a track of all the different characters as sub plot after sub plot presented itself.
Themes of loss, grief, anger and revenge, blended families, homelessness and endless family secrets contributed to a very entertaining read.
I am grateful to the publishers and NetGalley for an advanced listener copy of this very enjoyable book.
Home Is Where the Lies Live is my first Kerry Wilkinson book and it definitely won't be my last! There are secrets and drama for days hiding in plain sight on Huntington Grove. This book is told through the POV's of several of the characters, which I love. Was on my toes the entire audiobook and could not stop listening. Thanks you NetGalley for the ARC. So happy I randomly stumbled about this book!!

Kerry Wilkinson did not save the drama for his mama! He poured it into Home Is Where the Lies Live! There is drama and secrets galore hiding in plain sight on Huntington Grove. The residents on this street each have their own secrets and challenges ranging from grief, being a single parent, marriage issues, growing pains, issues with teen children, a blast from the past, and locked rooms! Welcome to Huntington Grove, your friendly neighbourhood filled with secrets and lies!
I’m a sucker for these kind of books, anything resembling Wisteria Lane and you’ve already got me. The author did a great job of building suspense and intrigue and for a while I really didn’t know where the story was going. He also did that clever thing where you guess each twist moments before it’s revealed which leaves you feeling clever but satisfied it wasn’t too obvious.
The audiobook narration was great, I love when there’s multiple narrators for each POV. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would definitely read from this author again.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture Audio for this aArc of Home is Where the Lies Live.
Home is where the lies live is a compelling domestic thriller of interwoven lives of the people at a house party. The pacing of this book by Kerry Wilkinson is constant, balancing in-depth character development with the direction and twists of the plot itself. This keeps your interest as I listened to this book in two sittings and couldn't wait to get back to listening.
The characters were well developed and likeable, even if some of the discussions these made weren't the best. I really enjoy books like this as the characters feel whole and human.
Narrated by Matthew Spencer, Rebecca Lee, Julia Barrie, these 3 people did a remarkable job in bringing the characters and plot out of the pages.
4.25 stars for Storygraph, rounded to 4 for other review sites.
