Unfortunately, Collision by Carrie Leighton didn’t live up to my expectations. I found it disappointing and had to push through to finish it. While the premise promised a story filled with passion, torment, and emotional intensity, the execution left much to be desired.
The main characters, Vanessa and Thomas, failed to resonate with me. Their personalities felt flat, their actions inconsistent, and their relationship lacked the depth needed to draw me in. Despite the potential for an intriguing dynamic between Vanessa’s romantic idealism and Thomas’s guarded nature, their connection felt forced rather than organic.
One of the biggest letdowns was the abrupt ending. After wading through a story that struggled to maintain momentum, the lack of closure felt like a slap in the face. The unresolved storylines and unanswered questions left me feeling unsatisfied and frustrated.
While I appreciated the themes of passion, personal struggle, and emotional vulnerability, the writing didn’t quite deliver on the promise of a compelling narrative. If you’re someone who values strong character development and a satisfying conclusion, this book might leave you disappointed.
Collision had its moments of potential, but ultimately, it didn’t strike the chord I was hoping for.
Thank you to NetGalley, Carrie Leighton, and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the eARC of this book.

I’m so glad that I was picked to read this book! I love ARCs and getting to discover new authors. Their cover of this book is gorgeous and the synopsis made it sound like I’d adore it.
I feel disappointed overall by it. It felt like I was reading it for weeks and getting nowhere. I loved the FMC a lot. I felt a lot of her pain from the damage her parents left her as well as Travis.
Thomas, I can’t stand. His mood is all over the place. He’s nice and sweet one minute and then utterly assholish the next. I can’t keep track. I seriously got whiplashed from this book!! He is so so so bad for Vanessa. He needs some meds to stabilize his mood!
And then when I thought I recovered from the whiplash, the book just abruptly ended. I don’t mind books in a series, but I hate when they just end and there is no closure. It’s the worst way to finish a book!
I’m kind of wondering what will happened in the next book, but I’m not sure I want to go through another whole book of this back and forth crap!

I wanted to love this book so much but had such a hard time pushing through. I was disappointed to not love the characters most of all

I enjoyed this story and found the themes of self-discovery and first loves to be well written. The exploration of how different loves and the people close to us can be was entertaining. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

This was beautifully written and I almost felt like I was reading my own story! I love the going from "good boy" to "bad boy". I feel like this something most girls/women have gone through, making the storyline relatable. I read this one sitting, I just couldn't stop turning pages.
