I found this to be a dark thriller that becomes that way after the story's beginning. Bones are found at a state park in Missouri and you come to find out that the person was part of an illegal cage fighting. Clare is working with Bud at solving all of the pieces but you start having the FBI AND THE ATF also involved and the story becomes more of a mystery but there are still dark moments as you go through this book. Clare ends up in the killer sights and with the different twists that this book leads you on you still don’t know everything until the very end—a good read.

The graphic nature, as well as the mentioning of child and animal abuse in the book, made it impossible for me to finish it.
