This is a pretty complete story, something I rarely find in novellas. The author possibly could have combined the adventures of Layla and her two best friends to make a full-length novel, but the parallel storylines may have divided the reader’s attention and prevent empathizing with any character. Other than the abrupt ending leaving a loose end —who wins the tournament? — I was quite satisfied and intend to keep an eye out for Felicity’s and Charlie’s stories to round out the trilogy. I am quite curious as to the details of Felicity’s time in Texas (being the only one to presumably get to the planned vacation destination) and what the deal is with Charlie’s jerk of a boyfriend. This was a super cute super quick read, so if you want something short and sweet this is a good one to grab.
Loved this book and I gobbled up the rest of the series.
