Amy never fails when it comes to the kingmans! Her spice to fluff ratio is ON POINT! Thank you so much for this opportunity. The narrators werrr amazing.
This series is everything!
This was an easy and fun listen. The narrators brought the story to life. I enjoyed the pacing and character development. This was great body positivity, found family, and some spice. I would highly recommend for plus size rep

Penelope is Kelsey’s assistant and has day to day struggles with her body image. After finding out that Kelsey’s up to winning multiple awards, she suggests Penelope get a date for the event. So, she goes to Everett Kingman, the love guru.
I love all of the beautiful plus sized women of this series and what they stand for. The anxiety Penelope experienced while learning to flirt, talking to a guy she could potentially go on a date with, and her rambling made Penelope so relatable to me. She has present insecurities about her body and how people see her body. I love Penelope and Kelsey’s friendship and how supportive Kelsey is of Penelope.
Everett is known as the love guru, his family goes to him to talk to him for advice, but has yet to find love himself, until Penelope. I love how Everett loves Penelope’s curvy body. I liked how the Kingman men had their own issues with body image and how it all came together for the Superbowl ads. Everett’s family is so supportive, they’re funny and give sound advice, and I love them so much!!
I liked how this book was interconnected to the previous book The P*ssy Next Door and got a few snippets from the book from Everett’s perspective.
I enjoyed every second of this audiobook and thought the voice narrators did such an amazing job with all of the characters!

Mutual pining attraction with Everett thinking Penelope is out of his reach because she is the best friend and assistant to his brother’s girlfriend. When she asks if he can help her find a date for an event, he breaks and confesses he wants her. I thought that was sweet. In today's environment, the body positivity message is a good subject to discuss in fiction. I have seen many women attacked because other people, sadly many other women, think they should not be able to have “hot” men due to their looks. I thought it dominated the later part of the story a bit too much rather than focusing on their relationship, although both were intrinsically related. Her evolution going from insecure about what he will think of her body to acceptance in the bedroom is a very well written journey. The spice, when it happens, was natural to the story, not gratuitous. I was not very happy with the intro mentioning how he was such a playboy who used women, but much later in the story, we learn why he was that way with childhood bullying trauma. The audiobook narrators, Aaron Shedlock & Juniper Young, had the perfect pitch and acting skills to convey the emotion of some scenes. The characters from the other series make an appearance, best to read in order. Includes a scene during Christmas season.
The author graciously provided a copy of the Audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
I listened to the audiobook version of this story and having listened to all the book in this series it definitely has a different feel to it than the rest. I loved all the body positivity in this story and I loved even more how both Everett and Penelope showed so much vulnerability throughout the book. The found family trope is big in this book and seeing Penelope become part of this family was truly enjoyable. On the other hand, I must admit I missed some of the funnier elements the other books in this series had, as well as the passion and spice shared by the main characters. Yes, they had some smexy and some funny moments but nowhere near as many as the previous installments. The narration by Aaron Shedlock and Juniper Young definitely brought the book to life for me and kept me engaged. They did an amazing job with it.
This was a cute slow burn romance. But the best parts weren't the romance, but the body positivity messages. It drives home the message that body positivity isn't sunshine and roses 100% of the time and that it doesn't matter your shape, size, or gender. But, that it is always a work in progress and that it's okay to have your bad days, that's part of the process. To love yourself and others is important and the greatest gift we can give.
This was an absolute joy to listen to. The narration was fantastic and really did justice to the story.
Amazing!! I got to ARC read the book, but getting to listen to it again was just magical!! I really enjoyed the narrators and how the each brought these characters to life! And again, this story is one that will likely hit me hard every time I read it!!
As all of amy award books this was so fun and cute!!! I really enjoyed reading Penelope’s story and although I was a little shocked over her out of nowhere aggression in two scenes that made me get out of the story a little, overall it was fun and a great message about body positivity!
Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advanced listeners copy of this audiobook.
I have anxiously awaited each Kingman story as they've been released. I'm a big fan of the blatant low-drama, fluffy romance, and happy endings. When the world is feeling heavy, Amy Award gives us light-hearted love as a perfect distraction. This one was no different, but I could see Penelope and Everett's story coming from a mile away!
While I am in full support of the curvy girl, body positivity story concept, this one was a little saccharine sweet on the topic. Of course, body positivity is always running through the background of the series, and I think it's great! For this storyline though, it was the *whole story*. I would have loved to see a little more developed around the characters. I was super excited for Pen and Everett, but they just kinda fell flat for me. Unfortunately, not my favorite Kingman. (Maybe I'm just still not over Declan...)
As an audiobook goes, the narration was well done. I didn't particularly love Juniper Young's male interpretation, but everything else was great.
Was it cute? Yes.
Will I read more as they come? Also yes.

Penelope is used to caring for everyone & thinking of herself last. In fact, try as she might on her body positivity InstaSnap account, she’s feeling less than confident existing in her plus size body. But as the assistant to the Popstar of the moment, Kelsey Best (fiancé to Declan Kingman of the Kingman dynasty football brothers on the Denver Mustangs) orbiting in the atmosphere of Kelsey and the Kingmans she is beginning to see a path toward confidence. But when Kelsey is nominated for the Grammy’s Awards and Penelope doesn’t have a date she has to ask for help to get one. Cue Declan’s little brother Everett. Can Everett help Penelope find a date or is she really THAT hopeless?
This is the second Cocky Kingmans book I’ve listened to on audio. I very much enjoyed taking this story in via the dueling POVs with both Penelope and Everett’s voice actors. They really drive home the feelings of both characters. If you’re a fan of Amy Award her latest installment in the Cocky Kingman’s series will scratch the itch you undoubtedly have for the Kingman men. I very much enjoyed the relationship between Penelope and Kelsey. Penelope rocks being the Bestie’s Bestie and all time mom friend. Everett was not overly emotional and mushy, he’s a man who likes his women and he’s not shy about it! It was kind of refreshing to see a guy’s guy who was respectful, but also unapologetic in his desires. I would have loved to see more cuddles and smaller intimate moments, but overall the spice was respectful and fun! Everett brought out the best in Penelope and vice versa. Penelope is indeed a nod to Bridgerton, if you’re a fan you’ll love a modern day Pen red hair, plus size body, & all!
If you have not read any of the previous books, don’t be shy & just jump in! You can always go back and read the previous books & still enjoy the series from any point.
A huge thank you to Amy Award & Dreamscape Media for the Advanced Reader’s Copy in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts are my own.
I really enjoyed Penelope and Everett’s story! Amy Award’s entire series of powerful, body positive FMCs is truly wonderful but the there was just something so relatable about the insecurities and vulnerability themes that made this a stand out book to me. I also really loved the subtle inclusions from book 3 that let you know Penelope and Everett’s journey was happening along the same timeline as Willa and Hayes’ journey.
This book was a joy to read and both narrators did a fantastic job! Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the early access opportunity to listen to and review this book!
Thank you, NetGalley and Dreamscape Media, for this cute and incredibly uplifting ALC!
I’ve been following this series for a while, and like so many others, I eagerly awaited Everett’s story. Overall, this book is very sweet, though I have to say the romance itself felt a bit flat at times. I liked the coaching angle, but I was hoping for a touch more jealousy or possessiveness to spice things up a bit.
The real magic of this book—and the entire series—is in its empowering body positivity message. As a curvy girl with an active lifestyle, I related to this so much. I’ve had my share of judgment for being in a happy relationship with a conventionally handsome man, and at times, it’s felt like I’m being told I don’t “fit” with someone like him. It can be disheartening, and this book captures that struggle beautifully.
The author’s message shines through, especially around sports and body confidence. I play tennis, ski, swim, and do yoga, yet sometimes, all people see are the parts of me that don’t match society’s standards. It’s frustrating, and this story reminds us that strength, beauty, and worth come in every size. While real life doesn’t always wrap up as neatly as a book, I love how the author wants girls and women of all shapes and sizes to feel seen and celebrated.
The voice acting was fantastic, too—true to Dreamscape Media’s standard! I listened to it straight through and couldn’t stop. 💖
A great addition to the Kingman series. Love this couple and the way their relationship unfolds. I started listening to this and didn’t stop until it finished several hours later. The underlying issues addressed are also super relevant. Love the mention of Award’s other series as well!
Love this series. It’s cheesy and fun. Great written smut. Body positivity. Love the plus sized representation.
This sports romance features a super-supportive cinnamon roll football player who thought he knew it all when it came to love, a plus-size heroine who will school him while finally learning to love herself, and that Bridgertons-meets-American-Football family that'll have you wishing you were a Kingman… or a Kingman's Queen.
Thank you netgalley for the opportunity to listen to this audio early!
This whole series by Amy award has been amazing. I love the plus size FMCs and body positivity this series projects.
Like the books before this one the story is so cute and funny. I was constantly switching between laughing and saying awwww out loud.
I cannot wait for the next in line!

This book was well narrated. I absolutely loved the characters and the body positivity. This is such a fun series and I look forward to reading more about the Caymen family. (Sorry I have no idea how to spell their name I’ve only ever done audio for this series)
I honestly can't get enough of the Kingman family!! Each book in this series just gets better and better with more stunning Leni Kauffman covers each time. This dual POV, friends to lovers, dating lessons turned secret dating between Everett (aka the Love Guru of the family and perceived 'himbo') and Penelope, assistant to Swiftie level famous singer/songwriter friend, Kelsey Best) was everything I wanted and more.
This Penelope gives off tons of Penelope Featherington vibes from The Bridgertons, with her own social media advice account but while she tries to be a model of body positivity she still suffers from her own moments of self doubt and insecurities that Everett helps her try to embrace and overcome.
The focus on body positivity in this book, for both men and women and people of all sizes, was TOP NOTCH!! I absolutely loved the song and campaign the family came up with to help fight against fatphobia and body-shaming. Add in an escape artist pet anaconda, panty-melting sweet and steamy moments and great audio narration by Aaron Shedlock and Juniper Young and this book was a total touch down for me!!
Highly recommended for fans of authors like Kayla Grosse and Mary Warren. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review! I can't wait for the next book in the series!!
3 Stars!
I was able to listen to this audiobook in advance from Netgalley, this is my honest and unbiased review.
I thought this was such a cute read, I loved the characters and thought that the struggles Penelope was experiencing were relatable. Getting to hear even how these huge hunk of football players who are revered for their hot bods also deal with maintaining their own personal views of body positivity was kind of comforting. It’s a nice reminder that sometimes you aren’t the only one dealing with insecurity.
Penelope and Everette are adorable together and I’m so glad they got their happy ending!
I am obsessed with the Kingman men! Everett is no exception- he is just as swoony as his brothers. Once again- the title is fantastic! Amy always finds a way to make me laugh in all her books! I love how there’s always a lesson in them as well- as a plus size woman I will always support these stories and I love the message of loving the body you’re in!
