I wasn’t aware until I was about halfway through the story that this book is actually a sequel to a spin-off series I had never even heard of before. I was under the impression it's a standalone or something. Which I must admit is on me. I should've checked before requesting an arc but in my defence none of this was stated in the information page so yeah. That being said, I still enjoyed this story even though it confused the hell out of me sometimes. Again, I wasn't aware that this is a sequel or that there is supposed to be another book after this so I was kinda bummed by the ending.

Larissa has created a world that you don't want to leave. I enjoy that this takes 20 years after their parents story is complete and there are both individual main story lines and an overall plot that you get too.

I was supremely favored to have the opportunity to review Legacy of Chaos in ALC and ARC form, and to receive a PR box from Blue Box Press! This is the second book in the Demonica Birthright series by Larissa Ione. This is a story written about a unique paranormal universe that will knock your socks off! The book description is above. I have read everything that this author has ever written, so I was definitely down for providing an ARC/ALC review for this book, about Stryke and Cyan. I absolutely loved this audiobook/book! Larissa Ione has an excellent feel for bringing a story together and managing all the interconnected characters in a way that makes the connections all feel natural rather than contrived. The narrator did a wonderful job and I definitely enjoyed listening to this story come to life. Both Stryke and Cyan had experienced losses and had dealt with them by withdrawing, Stryke most significantly. While working together, they began to process the emotions behind their losses and come to terms with them. They experienced some big surprises, the biggest of which had the most meaningful impact on their lives. The chemistry between the two was highly combustible and the book was pretty spicy. If you enjoy a paranormal romantic suspense story with angels and many species of demons, then you will definitely enjoy this enemies to lovers, forced proximity novel. You won’t know until the very end, but the title is so perfectly descriptive! If you want the bigger picture, go back and read the Demonica series or start with Legacy of Temptation, but if you are looking for a single story, this book does stand alone. In my opinion, however, it is a richer story if one knows all the characters and their history. In addition to the romance that occurs in each individual book, there is an overarching story that progresses further with each subsequent novel. I give this book 4.5⭐️ rounded to 5⭐️ on Goodreads and retail sites.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Brilliance Audio for the ALC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

4.5⭐ I can't get enough of Larissa Ione! I am not typically a big fan of paranormal stories, and I've tried more than a handful of authors over the years. But ever since I read the Lords of Deliverance series, I find myself waiting for her next story.

She packs so much into every book that you really feel like you've lived every moment with these characters. In this book, you will find a lot of angst, some suspense, a return to a loving family, and a bit of spice. I love, love, love the end of the story! It makes the title so perfect! Chef's kiss!

Stryke's story is heartbreaking. And years later, he is still blaming himself for his little brother's death. Cyan thinks he's a class A jerk. Until she has to work with him and finds out about his dark past and what he's done since then to try to make up for his actions. Danger looms and then they have to team up to fight evil. Help comes in the form of the Archangel Gabriel.

And even though this story was mainly about Stryke and Cyan, Gabriel is an overwhelming secondary character right from the start and I have a feeling his future is going to play an important role in the final fight, the Apocalypse.

Man! I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book!

I listened to the audiobook of this story, narrated by Alex Knox. I'm not familiar with him, but I thought he did a great job of portraying all of the characters, and there were a LOT!

I was so engrossed with the story that I failed to bookmark any passages. I don't know if it was due to the story or the narration... probably a bit of both. I'm usually on top of getting quotes for my reviews, but I just didn't want anything to interrupt me when I was listening!

Thank you Larissa Ione and NetGalley for this ALC. The above is my own and personal opinion.

Wow, that’s all I can say. I am addicted to the series. My favorite part is the immersive world in which angels Demons and humans coexist. This book is an action packed thrilling paranormal romance. Both being characters feel very real. Both have their own traumas and problems that they work through and while they do not agree, it’s easy to see you work. They are both coming from. pacing this book is really good. Well done and the plot twist were surprising. I cannot wait to see where this series goes. I would recommend this to anyone. The narration was also very well done. Thank you to Larissa Ione and Brilliance Publishing/Brilliance Audio for the opportunity to listen to this Audiobook ARC.

This series has quickly become a favourite!

ARC provided in exchange for honest review.

Picking up just after the events of Legacy of Temptation, we follow Cyan and Stryke as they navigate the challenges of life, love and Armageddon, facing down angels and demons, and healing from personal tragedy, plus a healthy dose of spice.

Super-genius Stryke, the eldest of 5 brothers, is a household name, and one of the wealthiest people on the planet because of his anti-demon tech, and while he remains isolated from his family and a bit of an a-hole, he is determined to save the planet and the human race from the forces of evil through his technologies.

Cyan, a technomancer, still reeling from the loss of her best friend and room mate, hates Stryke, it was after all his tech that was responsible for her besties death… AND her father’s… so when she is forced to work with him and his company to create new tech for DART she is less than thrilled by the idea.

But, things escalate quickly when Stryke begrudgingly asks for Cyan’s help on a different project, a project that could usher in the End of Days, 900 years ahead of schedule.

Being the second book in the series, we are still getting a feel for the overarching storyline, but I’ve very much enjoyed the way the author drops random tidbits, building a picture of how angels, demons and supernatural beings come to walk the earth in the open, and take possession of an entire country for their own. It’s amusing to have lines that indicate how far into the future the story is set, by dramatically aging popular current artists. I’ve also liked the concept of Cyan’s race of demons, and how they came into power.

I very much enjoyed this book, with no boring bits to be found, leaving me with the urge to find more in this universe!

Thank you to Larissa Ione and Brilliance Publishing/Brilliance Audio for the opportunity to listen to this Audiobook ARC.

Legacy of Chaos by Larissa Ione is an action-packed, emotionally charged paranormal romance that immerses readers in a world of angels, demons, and complex, morally ambiguous characters. Ione’s writing shines with vivid world-building, crafting a rich and immersive universe that feels both expansive and intimate. The plot is fast-paced, filled with twists and turns that keep readers on the edge of their seats, while the central themes of redemption and self-discovery add layers of depth to the story. Though the novel can feel overwhelming at times due to its large cast of characters and intricate lore, Ione’s skill in balancing romance and action makes Legacy of Chaos an engaging and satisfying read for fans of the paranormal romance genre.

This continuation of the Demonica series is everything I could have wanted and then some. This one follows Stryke, son of Shade and Runa (Desire Unchained). His brother, Chaos, died while under his supervision, and he's been beating himself up about it ever since. He's cut off all contact with his Seminus family, and his work is his life. Trying to make the world a safer place is his only goal in life.

Until he meets Cyan.... She comes in hating everything about him and makes it well known. She doesn't back down from him and makes his life hell every chance she gets. She somehow sees beyond his asshole exterior and drops truth bombs that he can't handle. When forced to work together on a project to save the world, they manage to see past their differences and make quite the team. She saves him, he saves her, you know how it goes 😏

Plus, we get to see what Gabriel is up to and what Reaver isn't up to... And that ending!!! Ahhhhhh!!! That made my heart happy on every level! I can't wait to see what she has up her sleeve next. I think I'll start back at the beginning and reread the entire series while I wait.

I jumped in on this one, withought actually knowing what this would be about, which had me like ? At first but it’s not really difficult to understand.

World building: a world where demons, angels, and humans co-exist on earth. There are companies that build stuff for both worlds, like to cast out demons or for demons and angels to use. One of this companies is owned by a demon who is the main male character. And the female main character works in another company where there’s kinda a collaboration between the two so she has to supervise the main dudes new work and is sent to his company which she hates bc she dislikes him.
Characters: they’re quite complex, but you can understand their pov and reasons. The relationship between the two main characters is… idk but I love the dynamic😭 so she dislikes him and has one sided beef w him and he lowkey likes the attitude she gives him. He finds ways to talk to her and see her, unconsciously ofc.
Understanding of the story: the intro had me a bit confused but its important throughout the story. He hates sex bc of a trauma, which leads to him taking medicine to subdue the need/urge to have sex bc well he is a demon, and in this world they need sex to survive.

I’m quite honestly not dissatisfied or disappointed on the story, I really enjoyed so for me this are always a 5 star reads.
