This book was a very slow burner unfortunately with alot of scientific chemical reference after a Professor, Reza is found dead in his lab then followed by another Professor, Helena. Things are not as they seem for straight forward murders and in no time student Srija starts trying to involve herself in the investigations while MI6 are investigations which soon earns her the nickname of 'sloppy sleuth' by MI6 agent Neil. By involving herself she then makes her a target and ends up with Neil trying to keep Sri as well as himself safe and alive. This is definitely a good read if the reader is a fan of murder mysteries and whodunnits. It will certainly have the reader questioning the clarity of all characters involved.
A spy thriller, Alpha Beta Gamma (2024) by Malabika Ray has an odd trio of sleuths. Sri is a physics Masters student at university, whose supervising Professor is found murdered in the laboratory. Sri is interviewed by Neil, an MI6 agent investigating the suspected chemical poisoning. Sri shares a flat with Matt Holmes and together the trio form an unlikely team, as Sri’s life is in danger as she gets caught up in the investigation. More the feel of a gentle crime tale, rather than a spy story thriller, this is a pleasant holiday read with a touch of humour and romantic tension, with a three star rating. As always, the opinions herein are totally my own, freely given and without any inducement. With thanks to Independently Published books and the author, for an uncorrected advanced review copy for review purposes.
This was complete and utter silliness and was in need of a proper editor, but it held my attention enough to want to read to the end.
Alpha Beta Gamma is a lightning-fast spy thriller that pulled me right in! When a physics master’s student finds herself tangled up in a web of international espionage after her professor’s shocking murder, things get intense. Teaming up with an MI6 junior detective, her scientific smarts and quick thinking lead to some serious page-turning action. I loved how this book balanced suspense with intellect—it’s rare to find such a smart, high-stakes thriller!
OMG, Alpha Beta Gamma is like a rollercoaster with brainpower! Imagine a physics genius who suddenly finds herself knee-deep in spy chaos after her professor gets murdered. She teams up with this MI6 rookie, and together they’re cracking codes, dodging bad guys, and kicking major butt—all in the heart of London! It’s fast, it’s smart, and it’s a total page-burner. If you’re all about high-octane thrills with a side of science, you’re gonna love this one. Buckle up! 🎢🕶️💥
