Well written with interesting characters.
An ex government agent Kyle who has been suspended hears a close friend has been killed.
He’s devastated and goes to Arizona to see the site of the car crash he was in. Soon things don’t appear to be as an accident and he’s going to get to the bottom of the story
The town of Pineland is over run by a bad element and they don’t like Kyle’s presence and want him gone. Kyle is not easily defeated and he has to deal with the situation of being a lone man on a mission.
This is a great example of how action thrillers are engaging and fun to read

I loved the cover and blurb of this book. I got into it straight away. I did like Kyle straight away. I didn't like Sheriff Rudensky at all. I didn't trust him. I did like Lara. Twisty and gripping. I couldn't put it down. I read this in two sittings. This was full of action. I am looking forward to the next book. Definitely recommend

I enjoyed this action filled plot, never letting up with the action to the end.
Great characters, the plot flowed, awaiting the next book out by this author.
I recommend this book.

The first book in the Kyle Payne series. The story follows Payne CIA agent on leave. He goes to Arizona after the death of his friend and mentor. The more Payne looks into it the more he thinks it is not an accident. His investigation leads him to cartels and locals criminals.

A fast paced fun read. I am looking forward to more books in the series. This is the first of JT Sawyer's books I have read.

I really like the story in this book. It’s intense, & real but…. I couldn’t engage with the characters really well. They feel incomplete, without depth. All the intensity is in the situation not the people. #KnifeEdge #NetGalley

Review: What I really liked about this novel was the pace and flow of the story. It is seamless in delivery which may render any surprises in presentation, flat. For example, when CIA spec. ops super soldier dude man, kills a poacher, he hears of his buddies death and beats feet for AZ. What no police investigation into killing a poacher that killed his accomplice carrying a bear gall bladder?? Once in AZ, he meets with the Sheriff and suspicions go wild.
This was fairly patterend after Jack Reacher, so nothing new here. Still, a good writer.

This was a strong start to the Kyle Payne Thriller series, it had that opening chapter in the world that I was looking for. The characters had that feel that I was looking for from the genre and was invested in what happened to them. JT Sawyer wrote this perfectly and enjoyed the way the story was created. I’m excited to read the next chapter in this world and from JT Sawyer.

This is a pretty conventional revenge/action book, with great characters and a good plot. The action is a little off, like the use of dynamite sticks, but the book is entertaining.

Terrific start to the Kyle Payne series by Stewart.
Great story with riveting, non stop action and suspense
Kyle Payne is a CIA Black Ops agent on temp leave, trying to decide if this is the work he wants to
continue doing when he gets a call that his former boss and dear friend has died in a car accident in Arizona. He goes to find out out what his friend's accident was all about and finds himself in the middle of a local drug running operation with international cartel connections. And discovers his friend's death was no accident.
Helping him is an undercover DEA agent who works with him to unravel all the pieces of the corrupt sheriff's office and the local gang lord drug makers.
Absolutely engrossing with strong, interesting and very personable leading characters with equally strong but perverse and lethal antagonists.
I can see this series taking off with this fabulous beginning.

He thought he was done with killing. But this time it’s personal! Wow! Great start to a new series!! I loved it! It had everything!! It had great suspense, intriguing, action packed, murder, mystery, bad cops, and a kick azz character! The story was very interesting and kept me glued to my kindle!
