I signed up not realizing I was very late to the game in this being 10th in a series, so now I have 9 more on my TBR!. I love a good historical romance, and this did not disappoint. Romance, political intrigue, and actual history kept me glued until the end.

WolfeBite is the tenth book in the de Wolfe Pack Generations series. Each book is meant to be a stand-alone read. There are often crossovers, and characters that are seen in other books. There is a lot of history that is referred to keep the reader up to date when necessary.

This book is set in the court of Edward III and his wife, Phillipa. I love reading stories that are tied to the historical past with the plots against the royal family.

A plot that threatens Edward III and Phillipa motivates Leonidas de Wolfe to separate them in order to protect them Leo is charged with protecting the queen and takes her to Ashendon, his castle in the north, with her personal bodyguard, Christelle, a Blackchurch-trained young woman who is more than a match for any warrior. The sparks fly between Leo and Christelle from the beginning, but Leo is still in mourning after his wife died.

The story has a wonderful blend of fact and fiction woven into an adventure that gives the reader romance and pageantry of the 14th century. It is truly well written.

Ŵe are back with the descendents of our favourite family in the medieval romance.
Our hero this time has faced tragedy and will face more in this book. Tissues are needed for the unexpected loss.
Our brave and very fiesty heroine has a tendency to strike first and think later. That makes for a few giggles. Sorry but I like it when a tiny woman can do so much damage.
We get some fighting but no huge battle, and we get an unusual romance.
How this author manages to take the same families in a similar timeline and write stories that are all so very different is what makes her so talented. I will always buy whatever she writes because I know i will enjoy it.
I loved it.

Always with this series I love the story and the characters. I found the story to be so real. I was energizing. The entertainment was at an all time high throughout the book. I mean I don’t believe that there was a low point at all. The plot twist was simply amazing. It only made the ending better. I do wish the Catherine’s age would not have been addressed as the same with Talans. The love seen in the barn should have been listed as a trigger warning. I also believe that if the writer chooses to use younger characters, don’t address their age or gloss over their age or give a guesstimate age. Leave it up to the reader to come to an age guess. Other than that, the book was good. Read on!

I have never read anything from this author that wasn't spectacular and this story isn't any different. Leonidas is the grandson of William de Wolf. If you don't have a guide to all the related parties, she provides one
and if this is your first journey with this author, you have plenty of stories to thrill you! Christelle is a protector for the Queen, a lovely woman who has never ever been treated as a woman and was trained like one of the boys. The chemistry between the two is riveting. The detail in the story is fantastic with great attention to detail and research. Filled with everything imaginable and with fabulous additional characters. Don't miss this one ever!

I loved everything about this story. The writing is so detailed that I could picture, in my mind, what was happening. There are so many relevant characters, besides Leonidas and Christelle, who added greatly to the story. I also found individuals that have appeared in previous works and as usual, they added to this story. The de Wolfe family is one of my favorites. I am amazed with this author and her ability to keep up with all of the different players and their relationship to each other. It’s a great story that is worth reading.
I received a free copy of this book via Netgalley and are voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a story of adventure and romance, but no huge battle with several armies involved like many of Kathryn's stories.
Leonidas de Wolfe is another of William de Wolfe's grandsons. He has been tasked with protecting the Queen, who also had a female protector/bodyguard, Christelle.
Leo and Christelle take us on a fast paced adventure. There are misunderstandings and heartache along the way, as well as some betrayal and plots abound. Kathryn's great writing will draw us completely into the story.
Christelle has been trained for one purpose by her father. She has never had an opportunity to be other than what she was trained to do, not even the usual female attributes or desires.
I loved this story, and as always to read about many of the individuals Kathryn has written about over the years!

This is a wonderfully dynamic and well written love story set closely in the court of King Edward III and Queen Phillipa. The plots, historical context, drama, action, espionage, intrigue, and so much more excitement kept me entertained. I enjoyed this passionate romance.i recommend reading!

Love all the political intrigue!

This book is set very closely in the court of Edward III and his wife, Phillipa. It's well worth reading for the historical context alone. In addition to the plots against the royals, we have both a major and a minor love story building between the fictional characters. Leonidas de Wolfe is charged with protecting the queen, so he takes her to Ashendon, his castle in the north, along with her personal bodyguard, Christelle, a Blackchurch-trained young woman who is more than a match for any warrior. Also at Ashendon is Leo's nearly-grown stepdaughter, Catie, and Leo's cousin, Talan, who have been getting very close during Leo's absence.

I adore all the action and world-building. This author is amazing at researching and building on recorded history, bringing the tales of old alive with vibrant characters and compelling settings. This story's mix of fact and fiction is exquisitely blended into an amazing adventure that showcases all the romance and pageantry of the 14th century.

For the first time, however, I found myself not liking this author's male lead characters. Talan, though younger than Leo, is still old enough to know the consequences of his dalliance with Catie, and the way he responded so callously to her insistence on making things right was nearly villainous. Sure he eventually comes to his senses and they get their HEA, but the burden of groveling and capitulating was wrongly put on Catie, who had no reason not to expect everything that Talan had promised her.

Leo takes a similar approach to his romance with Christelle, falling short of his promises once he learns her secret. His faithlessness makes one wonder just how he would have handled the truth if it had come after they'd married - would he have so easily abandoned his vows? He does get the better grovel/repentance scene, but only after outside circumstances removed all his doubts about her. His lack of faith in her does not bode well for their HEA.

While I was disappointed in the romances, the rest of the story stands as strong as all the others in the KLV world, and for that reason alone I can recommend it to anyone who enjoys historical romances. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

WolfeBite by Kathryn Le Veque is a romance featuring Leonidas de Wolfe, grandson of the great William. He finds himself in love with a woman who may not be appropriate, but lights a fire in him he’s never felt before. He had been married previously, an arranged marriage with a widow, but he had come to love her. She died giving birth to his child and he left their home to assist the young king in keeping his throne. Roger Mortimer is alleged to have fathered a child with the queen and wanted to rid himself of other heirs so his son could take the throne. The king and queen were teenagers and the king had really not come into his own yet. The queen had a guard sent with her from France. Christelle is her name and while she functions more is a companion she had attended Black Church and could hold her own with most knights. She was also a spy for her father and believed no one knew of her duel purpose. They separated the two and Leo brought the young queen to his home.

Leo fell hard. He had never felt this way before and it took him awhile to admit his feelings. He was not a man who used a lot of words. Christelle had fallen hard as well, had grown to love the queen, and had matured beyond being her father’s minion. Sadly she did not have the chance to share that change of heart before her deception was made known. This was a frantic love affair, with both parties out of the elements. Danger was everywhere and no one knew who to trust. Additionally Leo discovered he had left his children in the wrong hands and they had been abused and he had been stolen from. It was an exciting ride, protecting the queen, trying to protect his children, and honor his dead wife. As always, Le Veque has not let us down and this a a passionate and amazing story, as well as navigate a new love..

I love this authors books and this is no exception. There were rough times, very sad times, deception, forgiveness and a HEA. Get ready for a fantastic storyline and all that goes with it.

As always with this author, the plot is fast-paced adventure, and romance set against a well-researched historical background. I loved the main characters, especially Leo and his fellow knights, but felt sad for Christelle in that all her womanly attributes had been squashed, leaving a young woman who did not know how to handle the secrets of her heart. Despite betrayal and the plots that abound, Leo and Christelle are kindred spirits, and perhaps she is missing part of Leo's heart, especially as she is equally able to take up her sword alongside him. I was so glad that their enemy finally received his just deserts. This exciting book is part of a series, but is a standalone and comes to a lovely conclusion. I received a copy of this romance as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Action and political intrigue makes for a compelling read.
Leo and Christy have a difficult time sifting through their duties and the lies.
Fighting for love is often not a priority in this time.
Another de Wolfe story so near and dear to our hearts.

This was a strong tenth entry in the de Wolfe Pack Generations series, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed in the world and setting. The overall feel worked with the rest of this and enjoyed getting back to this world. Kathryn Le Veque always does a great job in writing this and can’t wait for more.

Secrets, Politics, Knights, Discovering Love:
Protecting his future king and queen is his utmost priority and we follow the heroic blunt speaking knight Leonidas as he faces many challenges.
One of those challenges is dealing with the unruly, disheveled haired unknown spy Christelle the nurse and companion to the queen.
We follow their relationship and watch it slowly progress from angst to desirous attraction to a gripping intense love affair, that takes us into an emotional confrontation like no other.
This is a wonderfully dynamic love story that is filled with love, friends, family dynamics and tragedy, cruelty, heartfelt courting, plus forgiveness.

Leonidas has met his match with Christelle! He thinks that she is the nurse to a young French princess, but she's actually a spy. They butt heads continually. One particularly funny scene was when she attacked him and his retinue and then sewed up his forehead with red thread.

There's notable children and pets (a chicken). Eventually these two loveable mcs realize that they can't live without each other.
Thank you to netgalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.
