I would like to thank Netgalley and Dragonblade Publishing for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

This dragged a little, but picked up in the second half. The politics behind the book is very interesting if a little difficult to follow.

The Scent of Intuition is a WONDERFUL addition to the series. I loved how the scents carried through the entire book. It sizzles and pops as the reader flashes back to the first time Alfie saw Bea and those innocent, wordless meetings touch both of their lives without their knowing how much until they meet again. LOVE this book and could not stop reading until it was done!

3.5 I enjoyed this book more than the first. It is an enjoyable read and I am trying diversify my authors so I enjoy the incorporation of Jewish characters. I like the men more in this series thus far and it has to do with how interesting their jobs are. Alfie is an apothecary so we get to learn about mixing and what certain plants and such were used for at the time. But this book has the same issues that the first did. There is a adolescences to how the characters act and are described, it’s not bad per-say just notable with how they act. The book feels repetitive, the same ideas are stated many times for example about how the doctors must keep the patients information top secret to be trusted by the ton and also how they cannot be together even though the couple from the last book are getting married in this volume. I feel like it’s hinted that Wendy and the Prince are end game but I could be sooooo wrong we shall see! Thank you NetGalley and to the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is the second book in a historical romance series about a combined medical practice on Harley street.
Our hero is the apothecary. He has studied hard all over the world for his trade.
Our heroine is a beautiful heiress who doesn't have the best relationship with her parents. Their expectations are not hers. She does have an embarrassing problem.
The "Ton " might think they are the best of society, but that's not always the case.
This is a very interesting series with characters that have to interact with the highest in society but are not part of them.
I have read both the books so far and they do follow each other, but you could read each book on its own.
Good fun.

The Scent of Intuition by Sara Adrian is another in the Harley Street Series and features Alfie Collins, the apothecary. Apothecaries at this time did so much more: diagnosed, compounded herbs for medical purposes and for perfume, among others. Alfie was an all-around kind of practitioner and was relied upon for his discretion. He had wives coming for love potions and also for poisons. He had men appearing to obtain a remedy for impotence. He had one man come and ask for a truth serum and thus we have the story at hand. Lady Beatrice Weatherly came for a lotion to deal with her hives, although she called them, “the beast.” He had her keep a diary of what she ate and what got near her skin. To him it was obviously an allergy and he just needed to figure out to what. She also asked him for a love potion as she needed a husband and there was a prince available who could take her away from London, her fondest wish. This same prince asked for the truth serum so he could figure out what was happening to his country’s gold. It got very complicated. The worst part was how much he loved Lady Beatrice and it broke his heart to develop a love potion that would take her away from him.

Alfie didn’t know how determined Bea was. She didn’t care if her father was an earl and Alfie was a commoner. She wanted to marry him. No man had ever moved her as he did. It took some wrong turns before both were convinced. Those around them had been convinced for weeks. It’s always a good time when lack of communication disrupts a romance. Adrien told the story well and kept the reader on their toes. There were so many other characters, all of whom we have met in earlier books: some in depth, some not, yet. It was a charming romance, although highly unlikely for the time.

I was invited to read The Scent of Intuition by Dragonblade. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #Dragonblade #SaraAdrien #TheScentOfIntuition

Adrian's 2nd book in this series revolves around Lady Beatrice and the apothecary at 47 Harley Street, Alfie Collins. The couple were introduced in A Sight To Behold, and this story picks up where that one left off. An abundance of intricate details woven into a tale of lost love, longing and finding yourself when letting go of what's expected. The first couple, Pippa and Nick, are busy planning their wedding and the practice is busy. Lady Bea is in need of assistance with "the beast" and Alfie is the right man for the job. This leads them on a path of da discovery of old friends, the truth and their own HEA. Can ;love overcome class difference and parental meddling? Lots of details, a few twists and turns and she wraps everything up with some steam. Overall, an enjoyable read.

This can be read as stand-alone, having knowledge of previous story is helpful, but not necessary. Adria gives enough backstory so the reader doesn't feel left out.

Thank you Dragon Blade Publishing and Sara Adrien for this ARC copy! This is my first book to read from Sara and she exceeded my expectations for what I thought I was going to read. I'll most definitely have to check out the rest of the series. I'll most definitely have to check out the rest of the series.

The Scent of Intuition follows our girl Bea trying to secure a marriage before her highly dismissive parents return from their work trip in Singapore. She has this beast/skin condition that can't be tamed until she comes across our boy Alfie who runs this apothecary. As they spend time figuring out how to treat her condition, she's trying to secure the Prince for a marriage but falls for Alfie and is stuck deciding between duty and desire. Over the course of the book, Bea comes into her own and truly figures out what/who she wants in life.

Throughout the whole book, I was hooked. The romance scenes were MWAH! The playing of the senses has a considerable part in the plot and in such scenes (look out for the last chapter *wink*). I cared for our main characters and their motives. The writing style kept me intrigued. How she wrote our men in their behavior towards Bea was nothing but gentlemanly and we saw Alfie pine for his woman beautifully despite their ranks.

This is the second book of the Miracles of Harley Street series. It is a charming and poignant love story that tells us more about the combined medical practice on Harley Street, and it's apothecary and a beautiful heiress that kept me engaged. The forbidden love due to different classes, great descriptive imagery, charming bonds of family and friends, espionage, conspiracy, suspense, a dreadful allergy, and so much more emotional and interesting issues that kept me entertained. The characters were delightful, complex, and interesting. The beautiful romance, with some delicious passion, was lovely, and the ending was wonderful. I enjoyed reading the books in order, but you don't have to. I highly recommend reading!

I love this awesome book! It is a bittersweet story of a love forbidden due to different classes, full of longing, great imagery, sensory stimulation, romance, wonderful bonds of friendship and family, a reflection of rigid social norms and prejudices, intrigue, some suspense, passionate love scenes and interesting characters. I really felt like I was present at the preparation of the elixirs and ointments and could smell the scents and mixtures myself. Again, I am impressed with the research and knowledge the author has put into the story. I already knew Alfie and Bea from the first book in the series and found their backstories touching. The chemistry between them was right from the start and I was rooting for them to get their happy ending.
Although it's not absolutely necessary, I still recommend reading the series in order, and the author's note is also recommended to get more interesting tidbits.

Lady Beatrice "Bea" was brought up from an early age to be a diamond of the first water and to find herself a man worthy of her rank. And she is very popular and enjoys the attention, but a recurring rash, her „beast“ forces her to withdraw from the public eye time and again. Since her parents have been transferred to Singapore, she has been living with her cousin Penny and her family. However, when she realises how high society treats and ridicules Penny, she realises that she wants nothing to do with the tone and their spitefulness and looks for a husband who can take her away from England and the restrictions.
As she helps Penny save her father and become engaged to her love Nick (previous book), she meets Nick's colleague Alfie Collins who runs the apothecary in the practice community at 87 Harley Street.
Alfie is a master of his trade and is recognised in all circles for his dedication to his work, his work ethic and his discretion. When he sees Bea for the first time, he is immediately attracted to her, but realises that nothing can develop between them as they are worlds apart socially and he could jeopardise the practice and the livelihoods of his friends and colleagues.
When Bea seeks him out to find her a cure for her "beast" and create a love potion to persuade a foreign prince to marry her, he is heartbroken but willing to help her…

If you like poignant, emotional stories with wonderful characters and interesting tidbits, you're sure to enjoy this book!

I received a free ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and left voluntarily.

This is the second book of a group of medical professionals who all live on Harley Street. Alfie is an apothecary and his love interest is Bea, who is the cousin of Pippa, of the first book.

It's very refreshing to have a story set on the outskirts of the ton, and not involving the typical dukes and duchesses. Alphie is very good at his calling, and he solves a pretty significant problem of Bea's that has plagued her for years. The chemistry is hot, in particular, a certain bath scene. It'll be interesting to see how the rest of the series plays out.

Thank you to netgalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

This was very different. I expected a lot of sex scenes with how this started and the way the thought of each other. Slowly this turned into a complex book about two sad characters that felt they couldn't have what they wanted. I didn't like the writing. I felt like it drug a lot. So many descriptions of making potions. This is an adult novel with one sex scene.

Perfect regency romance! I loved how the title of the book "the SCENT of intuition" played a huge part in how scent was emphasized so heavily in the book. It definitely makes me want to read the rest of the books in the series which are also based on the rest of the senses!
It's adorable to see how Alfie pines for Bea, and how sweet, naive, curious Bea is about everything.

I read A Sight to Behold earlier this year and I was left thoroughly intrigued. Miracles on Harley Street is a new series featuring a group of physicians who practice in Victorian England. This collection combines my love of historical romance as well as literary medicine. I enjoyed the first book just fine, but I was always curious about the apothecary, Alfie. He seemed so sweet and I could tell he was already besotted by the previous heroine's cousin, Bea. One of my favorite aspects of The Scent of Intuition was the character roundup and series overview in the preface. That was so considerate and I wish more books utilized this practice.

I thought Alfie and Bea were well paired and I rooted for them from the very beginning. He was already in love with her and it took many chapters for her to finally realize his feelings towards her. I loved their invisible string that connected them all those years ago. It always tickles me how amorous these physicians can be and how they must maintain their professionalism with treating their love interests in a medical setting. I mean you're using a mortar and pestle, calm down man!

I'm really excited to read more from the Miracles on Harley Street series. I absolutely adore reading about doctors, especially in earlier time periods. I'm not sure who's next on the roster, but I'm sure it'll be fantastic. Don't ask me how I know, call it The Scent of Intuition.

This was a strong sequel in the Miracles on Harley Street series, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed form the first book. The characters worked well and enjoyed the way they worked with the story. Sara Adrien has a strong writing style and am excited for more.
