#Review: *Best Friends for Never* - Teagan Hunter - ARC [18+]

I've always had a great connection with Teagan's books and I was super happy that I got accepted for this one! Thank you so much Teagan and Valentine Pr for this e-copy.
Parker Pruitt and Noel Carter had a beautiful friendship, which transformed into a little love story. But even from the start, this relationship was tested, when Noel had to leave Emerald Grove, moving to California to persue his acting career. Unfortunately, that made a big difference in their relationship, which resulted in an early break-up and a long time without seeing and talking to each other.
Many years have passed and Noel was back in town because the theater from Emerald Grove was name after him, when an anonymous doner contributed to its rehabilitation fond. Noel will find an even more beautiful Parker, who was working on this project, alongside one of his childhood nemesis, Axel. Will Parker and Noel find again their way to one another or history will repeat itself?
This was an amazing small town story! You could feel the angst throughout all story, because of their uncertain situation: Noel planned to stay in town only for a shot period of time. There was a tension between Noel and Parker even from the first moment they saw each other again, but this time, Noel was more determined to do things right. But that wasn't entirely up to him.
A book were you could feel every emotion, where you could hope that things would turn out the right way, even though there was so much uncertainty. Loved it and I'm recommending it to you๐ฉต.

My gosh! I have been a part of Ms. Hunter's newsletters for years and years, and yet this is my first story! I have no idea what I've been waiting for!
I thoroughly enjoyed Parker and Noel's second chance romance!
If you love small town romance with laughter and plenty of swoon, then this will probably be just right for you!
Plenty of great dialogue and banter!
Wonderfully romantic story!

Hollywood actor Noel Carter returns home for the opening up his townโs theater in honor of his career. The only problem is he returns and sees his best friend Parker who he left behind and hasnโt spoke to for years.
Parker and best friend Axel run a booming renovation business and their latest project is the townโs theater. Sheโs not prepared to see Noel after he broke her heart and left town.

Thank you to Valentine Pr, NetGalley, and Teagan for the arc!

Noel and Parker were best friends. When Noel left their small town to pursue his dreams, Parker felt abandoned and never reached out to him again. Ten years later and a theater is being renovated and renamed after Noel, and he comes back into town for the announcement. When he runs into Parker for the first time, he is surprised and hopes that they can talk things through. When they finally do, they realize a lot of things went unsaid or misunderstood. They start hanging out and getting close again. But when Noel's time in town is over, he must make a decision.
I love this story so much! These best friends were so close and never realized they loved each other more than friends, but when they finally did, it was too late. They both wanted to make sure the other followed their dreams and would never ask them to give that up. Which is what led to them being separated for so long.

This is another great release from Teagan Hunter!
I listened to the audio, and overall, it was a super cute story with great narration! I liked all the characters and how things played out between the two MCs.
I really enjoyed the second chance aspect of the story. It was done well, and didn't feel rushed or forced. I loved that we have little hints of jealousy that play with the title of the book when Parker introduces Noel to her "best friend" after Noel has been away for years. It definitely added that something extra to the story!

Best Friends for Never by Teagan Hunter was an enjoyable contemporary romance.
This was my first novel by Teagan Hunter, and it will certainly not be the last! I loved Teagan's easy and humorous writing style; it flowed so well and was so easy to follow along. I also loved the interactions between all of her characters! Each one was unique and hilarious in their own right.

Best Friends For Never is a small town, friends to lovers romcom. Parker and Noel were childhood and friends and crushes until he left for his acting career and she stayed behind. I loved seeing these two find the spark reunite between these two. I also loved all the characters of the small town. This story was fun, sweet and heartwarming and a perfect light hearted read!

I really liked this story, Noel and Parker made me have a good time. The book has its comedy parts but also many emotional parts and is very cute.
I'm not a big fan of second chances or Hollywood star trope, but this is a good exception, I liked it and would definitely recommend it and read it again.

On a reluctant trip back to his hometown, now superstar actor Noel must come face to face with his former best friend/forever crush/turned down his offer to go to LA with him after grad.
Parker sees Noel as her former best friend/forever crush/deserted her after he took off to LA after grad.
He's bitter, she's bitter.
How the heck is this going to work when he shows up here?
Ever want to smack a character up side the head with their own book? Make it a double. They both need a little love tap.
This was is really fun book. It's sweet and humorous and had good side characters.
Not a total 5 stars but definitely no less than 4.5! (I'll round up anyway)

NETGALLEY REVIEW
Parker and Noel were best friends growing up. Their stories were similar, little kids left alone in the world, in a small town where people meant well but the prospects of the future were a bit unsure. But as teenagers they became inseparable, spending almost every waking minute in each other's company. Did it complicate things, when Noel realizes Parker had curves? Or when Parker realized he was supportive but also kinda cute? A tiny crush would have been nothing, but their emotions eclipsed at the end of senior year. One kiss was all it took.
But Noel had grand plans to leave everything behind and to flourish as an actor in Hollywood. Parker, with her love for quaint and adorable towns and aversion to big cities let him go. But days without interacting turned into months then years.
In the last ten years Noel became a household name for big blockbusters while Parker found solace in building up her community.
So when it's time to break ground for the newly renovated and named Noel Carter Theater, their paths cross again. Ten years seems equally long and not long enough with them first bumping into each other.
Old wounds may not have healed but old feelings are definitely still lurking.
With the renovation project needing financial help and the auctioning of the most prized bachelor in town they are forced into close proximity.
This time around, there's more openness and communication. They may have put each other's needs in front of their own ten years ago, but this time sparks fly and they are not satisfied with only the 'friend' label.
I really enjoyed the honesty, trust and frankly adorable connection these two had! I loved the parental figures as side characters and the quirkiness of the town. The friends to lovers and it's always been you lovers should definitely check out this story!

Noel and Parker's story is a true childhood friends to sweethearts but the transition happens too late.
We flash forward to 10 years after Noel left his PNW small town to pursue acting but still regretting how things ended with Parker. Both unwilling to take a leap or stay behind...but now that they are back together in the same small town what will happen.
Noel has his Gran (she is a spitfire and I love her) , Parker's mom ....and more importantly his Parker. But that's good for nostalgia but not a reason to stay.
Parker has her business and family and that's all she needs....but not joining Noel in LA was a decision she's still grappling with.
Staying in town for the theatre reopening of his namesake Noel goes back to want to be with Parker. They finally are together and discover how the love for each other develops now that they are 10 years old, where and how will this go.
How they deal with being together now that they are mature was a great story and Noel affection and feelings for Parker are ๐ฉโ๐ณ๐
This book made me want to visit Emerald Grove

Thank you for letting me read this. This is a cute book. It was kind of the middle of the road for me, but sometimes you just need that if you havenโt read it, please do.

4.5 sweet and swoony stars!
Small town, second chance, he's an actor, she the girl next door/tom boy
Sweet and swoony!
This story had me smiling, grinning, blushing and feeling EVERYTHING. It was sweet and swoony yet emotional. So good!
Teagan excels at writing sweet small town romances. Seriously. She is just so good at setting a scene and making relatable characters that are easy to fall in love with. She also likes to give her characters unique names...Noel (MMC) and Parker (FMC) and I love that SO MUCH. โค๏ธ
Noel is a famous actor who comes back to his hometown after being away for 10 years to pursue his dream in acting. When he left 10 years ago, he left behind his childhood friend and sweetheart, Parker. Parker is still living in their hometown and is shocked when she literally runs into the man that left her heart broken. Ouch...his chest is hard and when he left 10 years ago, that hurts even more.
The chemistry between these two is sooooo good. High tension and steamy. AND THE POSSESSIVE AND OBSESSED NOEL. That man had me panting.
Check out this sweet read!

I loved this second chance best friends to lovers story. Parker has built a full life for herself in her hometown of Emerald Grove. She's thriving despite carrying some unhealed hurts inflicted my her former best friend and the only man she's ever loved.
When Noel comes back to town for the first time since leaving nearly a decade prior, he runs into Parker at the store. I loved the back and forth with these two. So much emotion packed away and held tightly, that they can't help but let the barbs fly. They fall into easy patterns only to pull back again and again. I loved seeing them return to each other and realize they were getting in their own way.
They find their way to happy and the result is swoonworthy. I also loved the side characters and the roles they played, especially the meddling grandma.

This was such a sweet second chance, childhood friends to lovers story. I loved all the characters, and I loved the small town setting and vibe. Noel and Parker getting to know each other after ten years apart was just delightful. Thereโs lots of spice and very little angst. And a crazy cat. What more can you ask for? Loved it all!!!

This was my first book that I have read by Teagan Hunter. She's been on my to be read pile for quite some time so I was excited when I was lucky to get an ARC of this book. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes to read.
I'm still a little undecided on what I think though. I found the writing to go back and forth between being quite sweet, bordering on cheesy, to quite spicy. It gave me whiplash lol I loved the premise between the two and their connection, but I felt like we were "told" more about it than "feeling" it with past scenes. If I remember correctly, we only get like one flash to the past.
It had all the elements that I like - past connection, friends to lovers, spicy dialogue, etc. I just wanted a little more. It didn't even feel like Noel was a huge superstar. Not one paparazzi followed him on his vacation?! Weird thing to notice but I did lol

Title: Best Friends for Never
Author: Teagan Hunter
Hero/Heroine: Noel & Parker
What to Expect: Small Town, Childhood Best Friends, Second Chance, Movie Star MMC, Interior Designer FMC,
tw/cw: death of parents, parental abandonment, mention of childhood bullying,
A movie star returning home to his small town, where heโll be reunited with his first love? Talk about a feel good story; Noel and Parker were great characters, and I loved seeing their friendship/relationship progress after so many years apart.
Returning home to break ground on the local theatre that was being named after him, Noel wasnโt expecting to run into his former best friend and first love, Parker, so soon after arriving. But that he does, right in the middle of the wine aisle in the supermarket. Awkward. However, after some time, they find a way to get on, and it seems like no time has passed between them.
Though there was a bit of angst when they first ran into each other, Noel and Parker did settle back into a tentative friendship. Not for long though. The chemistry between these two was pretty palpable and they soon give into their feelings (basement stairwell anyone?) I think what I loved about these two was that they both admitted their faults when it came to the breakdown of their friendship. No one person was to blame, and that showed true maturity in these characters. Also, the small town feel was perfect in this book, it proved why I love this trope so much.
Thank you to the author and @valentine_pr_ for providing me with a copy of this to read. This is my honest review.

Knox and Joanne are super cute and adorable. My heart melts from everything that Knox says and thinks. This man comes from good stock and he has no problems speaking his truth.
Jo Jo is the best and so sweet. Well deserved of the love and affection from him.
Adorable college romance.

Theater geeks and second chances...
Noel left Emerald Grove for Hollywood and never look back (side note, as someone who actually works BTS, an actor would never, ever go off script like that, esp on a big budget feature). He finally returns ten years later. He harbors some major bitterness at Parker, his ex best friend and fellow theater geek who he calls Peter., as in Peter Parker.
Parker has serious abandonment issues. First her father ghosted her and then after high school, Noel ghosted her. She stayed in that small town and is the one restoring the theater that is being named for Noel. They both harbor ambivalent feelings toward each other and its is awkward with them back in town. But proximity brings back memories and familiar feelings.

OMG I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH!!!
Noel and Parker were such a beautiful heartwarming couple and I love that they got their second chance.
I felt emotional reading this one as I could feel how much they both wished things could have worked out between them when they were younger. Parker was only doing what she felt was right at the time by telling him no.
I loved both Parker's mom and Noel's gran. Such a homey small town romance you don't want to miss,
Also I loved Noel's nickname Peter for Parker!! Loved the meaning behind it too!
A million stars from me!!
