More Fool Me tells the story of Paige, a novelist in search of a saviour. I do not think I've read a weaker protagonist.
Paige consistently misreads others' intentions, often assigning overly naive motives to their words and actions. Perhaps this was the author's way of throwing readers off the villains' scent, but it only annoyed me.
Given the abusive relationship she recently escaped, one might expect Paige to exhibit a heightened sense of vigilance. However, her actions defy logic. I kept wondering why she was so soft and witless. The author lets us in on her childhood traumas but does so quite late in the book and only barely. It wasn't enough.
That said, the ending is well-written, offering a rare moment where Paige's character tries to fight back and feels engaging. But I was already so disappointed by then.
Die Geschichte ist unvorhersehbar, spannend und glaubwürdig. Die Charaktere sind klar gezeichnet mit einer gewissen Tiefe - ein Buch, das auch nach dem Lesen noch nach halt.

More Fool Me is an intriguing story. I did find it a bit slow to start with, but the plot held my interest and as I kept turning the pages I became more invested in the story. An entertaining read and well worth the read. Recommended. With thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for my digital copy to read and review.
More Fool Me by CL Jennison was another excellent book from start to finish and was a book that had lots of twists and turns throughout that had me guessing till the end, I loved the character Paige and her little dog they fitted well in this book.
Very intense read, slow burn but wonderful. It was very intriguing for me all the way to the book.
I will definetely recommend it to all my fellow friends readers.
Such an interesting idea and so much to relate to, with this character and her immersion in her writing. The author does a great job of building the character and her back story, while also ensuring the plot moves forward at a pace. I loved the deeply descriptive style, which ensures the reader has a strong sense of the context.
I liked the premise of this novel and the Yorkshire setting and I could relate to the writers group. However, I did not enjoy the narrative tense and in places there was too much description of trivial things. An easy read with plenty of twists.
I really enjoyed this as a psychological thriller novel, it had that tense atmosphere that I was looking for. The overall concept worked well with the characters and enjoyed the way they worked with this type of book. CL Jennison has a strong writing style and am excited for more.
Every secret has its shadows. How far will one woman go to step into the light?! Good book! This book had suspense, intrigue, action, murder, mystery, and a few wild twists and turns. The story was interesting! I definitely recommend reading this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
