Torrible Puns, an extremely punny children's book with delightful poems by Tricia Torrible and stunning illustrations by Robert Dunn, is the perfect book with which to introduce children to the joys of both poetry and puns!
Torrible's poetry is anything but horrible - it is in fact fun to read, especially aloud, and Dunn's illustrations wonderfully support the narrative. The puns at the end of each poem are witty and sure to help children reading, or being read to, develop a sense of humour and an appreciation for the power of the written word.
Torrible Puns is a wonderful book for parents or grandparents to share with the special children in their lives.
I'm thrilled to have received an ARC of #TorriblePuns from #NetGalley. #poetry #puns #readaloud

Fun simple poet try that will make kids laugh. I have a hard time hook n kids in poetry books but this one wi to draw them in. The puns are simple and easy to understand.

A lot of fun, this is a book of rhymes relying on puns. Not that all puns are terrible (note even the play on words using the author's name), puns are fun, and several of the puns and punchlines in this book come from classic jokes, but all the poems are well done, funny, clever, and enjoyable. The book also has an appendix which explains where the puns are. I love language and this book will, no doubt, be fun for kids and for kids and parents to learn about (some) of the joys of the English language. Funny, well written, well illustrated, and thoroughly punny.
