The prologue was told from the POV of a serial killer who rapes and murders our main character. Granted, she's a vampire, so the "murder" isn't very effective and she kills him right back. But still, that was a whole lot of sick and vile imagery that I was not prepared for first thing off the bat. If that's what this book considers 'dark humor,' I'll pass.
