Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for the ARC of this audiobook for my honest review
I loved this so much. I was not thinking that the 1 day audiobook would be about 1 story but it was so it was pretty daunting, but it was 100% worth it. Such an interesting detective novel and I loved the characters , the relationships, the storylines. The entire plot was so well thought out and written and i definitely recommend it.

Tough Justice: Countdown Complete Collection
This series is definitely a bang for your buck! Just over 24 hours of entertainment in one 8-part thrilling bundle package.
FBI Special Agent Lara Grant thought that she’d put her past behind her—finally—with her last case. But now a serial bomber is targeting Manhattan’s elite power players, offering them a choice between saving hundreds of lives or seeing their darkest secrets exposed. Lara is working with the Crisis Management Unit to stop the bomber, but how will she react when she’s the one who must choose between truth…or death?
This series was not in my normal wheelhouse. I have never read about serial bombers and at first, I was not sure if this was going to catch my attention but after listening to the end of part 1, I was hooked. I enjoyed following Lara and Nick as they try to catch the mysterious bomber. There were multiply stories going on and the authors did a great job of making you feel involved in the story. Part 4 and 5 were my favorite. I did get a little frustrated with Laura at the end of the book. I felt like her overarching character did not grow at all, and she did not learn anything the entire book. I enjoyed the end and think it was wrapped up nicely, but I do wish we would have gotten more insight into Laura's mother’s murder. I felt like all the authors did well melting their voices together and sounding like one story. The audio book narrator was fantastic, and each character did very well. I hope they come out with another story like this soon!
Parts 1 & 2 written by Carla Cassidy
Parts 3 & 7 written by Tyler Anne Snell
Parts 4 & 6 written by Emmy Curtis
Parts 5 & 8 written by Janie Crouch
Thank you, Net Galley, the author, and the publisher, for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

First I would like to thank Harlequin Audio for an advanced copy of the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

As the clock ticks down, Lara braces for another confrontation with evil. And no matter what, she’ll make sure her enemy’s first mistake is also his last…
What I loved about this series:
- Audiobook quality, the narrator they chose for this series was amazing since they did an amazing job really leaning into the seriousness of the events while also adding the levity when it came around.
- Team, I am a huge fan of stories with teams cause it just adds more to the story since they all know something special about each one of them
- Crimes, this story is very intense with a lot of difference crimes happening at the same time and I just didn't want to stop listening cause I wanted the bad guy to get caught
- Unsub, the person committing the crimes gets their own POV throughout the stories and I was always waiting for those chapters to get in their head and try to figure out why and their end game
- Lara Grant, she is a strong woman who has had to make hard decisions in her life and because of that does not trust easily and pushes people away when she needs them most. I spent a lot of the book wanting to hug her and shake her to get out of her own head
- Open ended, I did like how the series ended on a bit of an open ended conclusion the big bad of this story was caught but another case was set up for the next
If you are looking for a great group of well developed short stories that are seamlessly intertwined with a lot of mystery and suspense with a tiny bit of romance then I would absolutely recommend this book. Any of my audiobook readers, I w

Not the series for me, and in the end I didn't not finish the first book due to the language used. The narrator was excellent

I liked doing this whole 8 book series as an audio book one after the other.
Books 1 -4 were fantastic in setting up the story of a serial bomber in NYC and the FBI team tasked to finding him and bringing him to justice. Leading the way is Lara Grant, fresh off of a heartbreaking undercover assignment from the previous year where lives were lost, loyalties were challenged and love came with secrets.
These first four books have lots of twists and turns and I was as frustrated as the characters in trying to get ahead of this serial bomber. Too many questions that need answers and connections to be made I was constantly trying to figure everything out and coming up as empty as the CMU team. The crime junkie in me is as giddy as a kid....
The books flow well into each one, given that they are written by different authors and the tempo is kept as well. There are multiple POV's as the story progresses but you have no trouble keeping up and it blends well with the story. The characters are great and you can feel their emotions as they try to catch this guy.
I'm really enjoying this series a lot. The audio is a single narrator but she does a really great job with the characters and it's easy to keep track of what's going on.
It's quite engaging and I'm seriously going crazy trying to figure this guy out!!
In the second half of the series, Lara Grant and the CMU are still hot on the trail of the serial bomber targeting Manhattan’s elite power players. I found this part of the series fast paced, and frustrating right along with the CMU. A lot more secrets and connections to the past are revealed. Great twists and turns, secrets revealed and more secrets kept. Every time they think that they are getting a handle on him, something throws a wrench into their plan.
I enjoyed seeing how the team changed in their relationships to each other as well as to themselves. Dynamics definitely changed with these characters. With their biggest secrets about to be exposed they have a lot on their plate as they try to catch him.
I was so frustrated with Lara in this half of the book. She was so hell bent on catching this guy that she just totally ignored everything that she should be doing and did what she wanted. This gets her a lot closer in the crosshairs of the bomber then she wants to be. This caused so much more tension and frustration with the team, which I'm sure is what the authors wanted to happen.
Still quite engaging especially with being frustrated along with the team, one step behind the bomber for much of the book.
I thought it resolved well at the end where the ends were tied up and then a new twists come up that I didn't expect and that was great.
I liked this story from beginning to end. The narration although only single narrated was still well done.
Thank you to #netgalley and #harlequin for a chance to read this story

I am so glad I have this as a boxed set. Listening to the complete series without having to jump around was perfect. I think this is a captivating series. I was sucked in from the beginning & could not finish it fast enough. Great characters, very interesting plot and the narrator was amazing. Well done.

Oh, I loved listening to this series and now I need to find the first eight books in audiobook format and listen to those as well!
I love that each book picks up where the last book left off. Each author did a great job of keeping Lara and the team on track to find the bomber. I loved the ending, and i hope there is a third series for this character.
Annalee Scott did a great job narrating these stories and I hope they narrate any future books as well.

Lara Grant, FBI agent, is after a serial bomber that is going after the rich and powerful, the choice blow up or have their darkest secret exposed. While Lara is trying to close in on the bomber the bomber might also be closing in on Lara, but what is her darkest secret?
This was a suspenseful book to listen too. I found myself hanging out in the car a bit more just to listen. The voice actor was really good and helped give the words life. I would suggest this book to any thriller junky and others.

FBI Special Agent Lara Grant is working on a bomber case. Her partner and she are working on the case together and have been lovers off and on for a while. The whole team is tracking down clues and running all over to find the bomber. This was a great story and keep me interested until the end. The audio was a great listen.

This is such a clever concept. One cohesive story released in small bite size chunks. Kinda like a TV show. I’m not sure how often they were released as I listened to the box set of all 8 episodes. I about had a heart attack when I saw the run time was 24 hours!!! That’s an entire day!!! But if you listen when they come out, that’s about 3 hours per episode.
This is the second set but my first of the series. Both focus on the same set of characters. I had no trouble following as the authors do a great job of filling in the needed info.
The premise is intriguing. A bad man is blackmailing people with their secrets telling them if they don’t tell them to the world, a group of people will be killed. That bombshell had the tension staring at the start and had my attention.
I liked the detective team investigating the set of crimes. They all had different strengths and mostly worked well together. With the length I was able to get to know the characters well and the complex plot had time to develop without feeling rushed. There’s a little bit of a romance running throughout but the case remained the focus.
Annalee Scott was the only narrator for the cast of characters. At first I wondered if I’d miss having a cast, but she handled the it well and brought the story to life.
I think I’m a fan of this concept and am intrigued to see if happens more frequently. I planned on taking it slow and found I was so drawn into the story that I finished after just a few days.

I guess when I saw the words "The Complete Collection" I thought this was an entire series. Instead it was a serialized account of one case that is part of another series. So, I went in not knowing the background. First impression was that the recaps of the previous collection was a bit ridiculous. That feeling continued throughout the entire thing. It read like a TV series that focuses on one case for an entire season. That was OK. But the completely unprofessional antics of everyone in this supposed elite squad just ruined it all for me. None of these people should have their jobs. They even tried to justify falsifying evidence. Do your job, people.

An 8-part thrilling series, following an FBI Crisis Management team set in NYC. A rogue bomber is terrorizing the city and this story takes many turns and includes many twists. Super fast paced with imperfect characters and an engaging plot that will draw you in from the start. Really enjoyed this and would definitely listen to more in the series!

4-4.5* I loved this series! Now I want to read the rest. Love the characters. Love the writing style. So fun that it was joint authors. I’m definitely invested in the characters and need to know more, especially about Lara’s mother. Thank you to NetGalley for the audio book package to review!

This eight-part story takes you on a thrilling ride as an FBI unit chases down a local bomber terrorizing the community. With both citizens and government officials targeted randomly, they’re faced with a choice: expose their secrets, or risk a bomb going off at an unknown location. Full of unexpected twists, the four authors craft a seamless narrative that keeps you hooked from start to finish. I can’t wait to read more from these talented writers.

Tough Justice Countdown Complete Collection is an 8 part box set written by 4 different female authors. I wasn’t sure how this format would work with multiple authors but I really enjoyed it. They all wrote with the same voice and moved the story along.
This fast paced story about the FBI’s Crisis Management Unit in Manhattan kept my interest.
Parts 1 & 2 written by Carla Cassidy
Parts 3 & 7 written by Tyler Anne Snell
Parts 4 & 6 written by Emmy Curtis
Parts 5 & 8 written by Janie Crouch
All parts are narrated by Annalee Scott who did an excellent job with the narration.
This was the longest audio book collection I’ve listened to at just over 24 hours.
Thank you to NetGalley & Harlequin Audio for letting me read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is a Police Mystery Suspense, and this is the complete Tough Justice Series. I really got pulled into this book right from the start, and I could not put this book down. I stayed up late to finish this book because I was so pulled into the story. I loved getting to know the characters. I just wished they solved her mothers case with the case they were working. I listen to the audiobook for this book, and I really enjoyed it. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

This audiobook takes the listeners through a rollercoaster ride.
Four talented authors unite to create eight episodes in the life and work of FBI Special Agent Lara Grant.
Part 1:
Now that the Moretti case is over, or so she thought, Lara has finally left her undercover job . Ready to start a new one in NYC, she never expected to be targeted and once again in the midst of danger.
Part 2:
Explosions and an apparent serial bomber is creating havoc. People are getting killed . In the midst of all the twists and turns, Lara is also trying to find who killed her mother.
PART 3:
In this installment, the CMU (Crisis Management Unit) team is not only looking for the serial killer, but also being targeted. Is one of the victim or the culprit?
Part 4:
The tension intensifies. The Selfie Guy , kidnapped by the bomber, has a bomb strapped to his chest. Who can be trusted to find the bomber and safe the victim?
Part 5:
The Victim is rescued but the CMU team is in danger. Wanting to protect the team, Lara finds herself in danger as well.
Part 6:
Lara puts herself on the line when she goes out as the lone wolf. What can go wrong goes wrong.
Part 7:
The tension continues . Lara is missing , but her team is not sure if she is really in danger or following her usual MO.
Little does CMU know that Lara is fighting the captor and another bomb can detonate any moment.
Part 8:
Wow, all comes to volition. Trust amongst the CMU team is fragile. But can they finally catch the evil bomber ? Will Lara survive the bomber and her past?
If like me, the listener doesn’t like cliffhangers, listening to the entire series at one time is the best way to go.
Kudos to the authors for creating a storyline that ran smoothly between parts.
Therese Plummer does a very good narration of the various parts and characters.
I was entrusted a copy of this audiobook by Netgalley and Harlequin. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Though I listened to the audiobook the library purchase will be the hard copy. I enjoyed the story all installments that were included in the audio. I am not clear if the installments were individual books or as a set. The story of the serial killer holding secrets over the heads of the guilty was an interesting and different vehicle. It is though provoking to think what each of us would do in similar circumstances. I would read more by these authors.
