This is cute and really informative! We learned a lot about the different types of poops and what they mean and tell us about animals!
This book is very silly and educational, if you want to learn about different animals and what they eat based on their poop, this is a great book for you. Great for kids learning about animals as this book is targeted toward younger kids. You do learn a lot about animals and why they poop the way they do and what benefits it has for the soil or ocean. On top of that, we have a person working behind the scene as the main characters are trying to get a golden poop and have to figure out what poop belongs to what animal before they can move on to find their prize.
The Golden Poo is an incredibly fun comic book that feels interactive and engaging that any kid (and adult) will love.
The Golden Poo follows a group of doctor's as they search for all the poo in the wild, which includes a golden poo that poos itself. The doctors investigate different poos to talk about who each poo belongs to. Each poo comes with a bunch of clues for the reader to decipher who the poo can belong to.
Along with the poo mysteries, the book also includes fact cards about wild animals. I particularly liked the poo from the whale because that was a completely new poo to me.
The character's are introduced before the story with a character card, which will allow the reader to get to know each character, making the story feel more familiar and engaging. The artwork is bright, colorful, and engaging. Both readers who are familiar and unfamiliar with comic books will have fun reading this story and engaging with the artwork.
I really like that this book works to demystify and normalize poo. It is true that everyone books, and this book is such an informative, supportive, and safe space for kids to learn and talk about poo.
My 6 year old loved this book about poo! This is funny and educational. The graphic novel style of this book is excellent.
I'm a grown-up in a very grown-up profession that has nothing to do with biology, and I'm trying to figure out how to introduce what I've learned into casual conversation. "Did you know that elephant poo can generate energy?" "Did you know there are insects disguised as poo to fit into the environment and there's poo on their eggs?" It's all so interesting!
When I was a kid we would go on field trips where we looked for animal tracks, but you can tell so much when you find poo. Depending on the shape, size, smell, etc you can identify the creature and what it was eating.
The format of this book is fun because it's a cute story with pictures where little boys investigate different poo they find. Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this
💩 I love sharing books about poop! Not only are they fun and great for engaging reluctant readers due to the subject matter, but they are also incredibly informative! Today’s graphic novel poo book is exceptional!
💩 The book is designed as a challenge to identify different types of poo. The characters discover a mysterious (and plastic) golden poo that contains 8 capsules of various animal poo. They must identify the owner of the poo based on its appearance and smell. Once identified, the book provides extensive information about the creature, including what they eat, how they digest food, and more. There is a wealth of great information in this book, all revolving around poo!
💩 The graphic novel format will appeal to readers, and the illustrations are amazing and often hysterical. You will see a lot of animals pooping in this book!
💩 Poo might seem taboo, but honestly, I learned so much from this poo book! And if I’m learning something, your children will too. I highly recommend this book!
Thank you @netgalley and Lerner Publishing Group/Graphic Universe for an eARC of these books, which I have read and reviewed honestly and voluntarily. I reviewed both books simultaneously on social media so the review for book 2 (All Aboard the Poo Boat) will be the same as this one.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was fun and hilarious. Kids will love the humor in this book and it will make a great read for kids.
I read book 2 of this series first without realizing it, but it is a very similar format. In The Golden Poo, we see characters try to figure out which animal produced various poo samples. They take a look and make a guess, look for clues, and then learn facts about various animals. The illustrations are fun and my kids thought it was so funny. They laughed particularly hard at the panda bear. I'd recommend this for elementary aged kids; younger kids will need help.
