This was a really informative read. I very much enjoyed it! I would have liked maybe more testimonials and a better outline of the history of psychedelics, as I felt it was sort of randomly sprinkled throughout the book and could have been organized better to be a bit more engaging. I really loved the inclusion of suggestions to help put those who are interested in trying psychedelics, either recreationally or therapeutically on the right track -- I have never read a book like that, and I think it's a great way to normalize the concept and help promote safe use of these substances. I also loved how recreational users were never shamed for "ruining" the chances of getting psychedelics approved for therapeutic use, and how it was emphasized that there are much more dangerous substances that are legal throughout the U.S., like alcohol.

I hope Leary actually considers writing an autobiography, because I'd eat that up! I really would like to know more about his personal journey, how it was growing up with such a prominent figure in this field as a father, how that affected him and his views on the world and life itself, and his own psychedelic journey and how he came to be passionate about this field as well.

Interesting book but I don't think it was the right one for me. It did have really good information though. I would still recommend

Found this incredibly dry, didn't want to continue it. Dnf'd at 55%

Some good information though!

Informative book about the modern use of psychedelics in healing from trauma and other emotional issues. Included is the history of the psychedeliic movement, the War On Drugs from the Reagan era, and the recent acceptance of psychedelics as agents of change.
