This was a fun and cute story to read. The illustrations are adorable, I am positive kids will love it. It had a lot of beautiful colors that definitely pop. I also love when children’s books have rhyming schemes. I feel like it makes the book more entertaining.
I definitely recommend this story!

This was a really fun book to read. We meet a dragon who really wants to eat a snow cone. No matter how hard they try, nothing seems to work. They ask some other animals for help, but no one is able to come up with a way to make this happen. Yet as this book comes to a close, something incredible ends up happening.

This book was really cute! I absolutely loved the illustrations and the fun story. My only hesitancy is that it's quite long. I have a 3-year-old, and while he thought the dragon's antics were quite silly, but he started to lose focus approximately two-thirds of the way through. Still, I would be delighted to find Dragons Can't Eat Snow Cones on my library's shelves (where we discover all of our new reads).

This book was hilarious - poor dragon just wants to try a snow cone, but his fire-breath melts it every time. He seeks advice on how to eat it from a variety of animals, all whom give him bad advice and he still doesn't get to eat a snow cone (though he does make some friends along the way!). In his frustration he finally finds a solution (but I won't spoil the ending!) My 8 year old is going to love this one for sure!

Dragons Can’t Eat Snow Cones is a children’s book written by Amanda Sobotka.
Summary: What happens when a dragon wants to eat a snow cone? Antics ensue.
My Thoughts: I was kind of disappointed in this book.
I loved the premise and was looking forward to seeing how the dragon figured out a solution to this unique problem.
I also thought the pictures were a lot of fun.
I enjoyed the first part, but then felt like the storyline abruptly switched gears halfway through the book.
It was almost like two different ideas for the story were merged into one book, which was a bit confusing and kind of ruined the story for me.
I would like to thank Cider Mill Press though for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my review. Thank you!

Super cute and silly rhyming read. Reminds me of if you give a mouse a cookie type writing. A little longer so I’d suggest for 4-6age range.

Dragons can eat snow cones! This was an adorable children's story about a fire-breathing dragon who longs to taste a snow cone. He is a very resilient dragon on a mission! I enjoyed this book, and have requested a copy be purchased by the collection manager for my library's children's collection.

Super adorable! My daughter enjoyed this book. The artwork and the dragon (especially the dragon) kept her attention! She’s three but as she gets older I feel she’ll get a better grasp of the message behind this book! Either way she enjoyed it and that’s what matters!

The book tells the story of the dragon who goes on an adventure, looking for ways to finally eat the snowcone he so craves.
I love this book so much! Some children's books lack a great storyline, but this one has it, and it's very easy for kids to understand. I would definitely want my child to read this!
Love the illustrations as well - from the vibrant colors to the adorable characters! Would definitely recommend to my momma friends!
Thank you, Netgalley for the copy!

I love the art in this book. I love the cover, and I love all the interior illustrations. However, this story is incredibly long. It does rhyme and it has a familiar cadence pattern. However, the cadence pattern needs sanding. It is not smooth, so one constantly tripping over the rhymes, and it makes this book seem even longer than it is. The idea behind it is adorable and the execution is almost there but at the same time it feels like the author had so many ideas and did not know when to say stop.

This was a delightful story and so much fun for my kiddos. I loved the illustrations and how much there was to see on every page. The story was fun and I really liked that the dragon never gave up on his goal. We loved seeing the different creative ideas that were used to try and get him a snow cone. My kiddos thought that the snow ball was a hilarious and great way to get him his treat. As a mom I got a good giggle out of the ending and it made me really think about how it applied to both my children.

Fabulous! I would be willing to re-read this book again, and again to my grandchildren. I absolutely loved it. The illustrations are beautiful and funny. I loved the rhyming. A appreciated that it taught perseverance.
I received a complimentary e-copy of this book and read it with pleasure. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you, Apple Sauce Press and NetGalley.

Like many of the other books in the series, this one offers enjoyable verse with lots of fun animals and illustrations. This would be really fun for a 4-5-year-old readalong every night. Effective, concise, allows for improv like pretending to fly.

Thank you to NetGalley and Cider Mill Press for the eARC!
This book is adorable, fun, and will be a great tool for language activities. There are a lot of great vocabulary words, pictures for naming attributes, and describing similarities and differences. It could also be used for teaching teaching temporal, spatial, and sequential concepts. This would be a fun activity for a language group!

A wonderfully playful and fun book. With rhyming text in a wonderful rhythm we follow the poor dragon or his adventure to finally eat snow cones before they melt. And of course they always melt in many silly ways. In this silly story he goes to many different friends hoping for help. Can they help? Can he ever find a way to enjoy his dream treat? Your family will love this adventure! Silly, creative and fun. A great addition to any home library. You will love this little adventure with your family.

This story was so fun! The writing made it fun for me to read out loud. My kids, ages 3 and 5 years old, were captivated by the story and the artwork!

Dragons Can't Eat Snow Cones by Amanda Sobotka is a cute story about never giving up. From reading the title, you probably wouldn't be surprised to hear that that the plot involves a dragon who is trying to eat a snowcone but fails over and over again. The dragon seeks out help from others and demonstrates persistence, communicating to readers that it's good to ask others for help when we face problems and that not giving up is also important. Overall, I recommend the book for it's solid message which is appropriate for early elementary aged kids. More positives include the cute illustrations as well as the rhyme and rhythm.

From my 6yo: This book was a lot of fun. I'm glad the dragon didn't give up and ended up with a great big snow cone! I really liked the pictures and all of the details. My favorite detail was the alligator with the don't litter sign.
From me (mom): What a cute book! A great story about resilience, determination, and not being afraid to ask for advice. The rhyming helped the story flow and kept my kiddo engaged. The pictures were lovely too with a lot of fun infused into them. All in all, a solid book for any child's bookshelf.

We adored this picture book!! This reminded me of Dragons Love Tacos, which is such a big hit in our home. The illustrations were fabulous and we loved the rhyming aspect! Ollie is learning rhyming words right now and it was perfect for him to point them out to me.
We really enjoyed the different ways the Dragon tried to problem solve. I will point out that I started to lose Oliver's attention with the many different ways to problem size. I think it would have been better and flowed easily with one or two less scenarios.
Overall, we enjoyed this one and I recommend it! Especially, if you like rhyming books. Also, if you enjoy fantastic illustrations!
Many thanks to Applesauce Press and Netgalley for an e-ARC. All thoughts an opinions are my own.
