I tested this book on my 6th grader and he thought that it's good for 4-7 years old (pre-k to 1st/2nd grade possibly). it's definitely too long for Pre-k independently reading, best done in a reading hour. setting. The story is cute, not all the lines rhymes, but the plot is cute on his journey. We like the artwork very much, definitely goes with the the story, and change the setting of the story for the dragon. It's a cute book, highly recommend.
Thank you to NetGalley, Cider Mill Press, and Applesauce Press for this ARC.

Absolutely loved this book! Such a fun concept, the dragon was entertaining and funny while being informative about other animals habits as well. The rhyming had a great rhythm and my toddler already wanted to read it three times. Instant hit!

This book was so cute!
A poor dragon wants to eat a snow cone but it keeps melting!
Going on an adventure to see if he is able to finally eat a snow cone!

Dragon's Can’t Eat Snow Cones is a delightful read that will entertain and captivate children, making it a must-have for any young reader's collection!
I recommend this to parents of children who enjoyed Giraffes Can't Dance.

This looks like a really fun book. I like the dragon and the other animals, and it could be really fun to try to come up with possible solutions to his problem.
However, I did not care for the irregular rhyme scheme, and some of the rhymes didn't hit right. It's a fun concept, but not a book I would like to have on my shelf.

I read this story to my daughter, so my review will focus on how she reacted and interacted with the story, as well as my thoughts as a parent.
Dragon’s Can’t Eat Snow Cones is a children’s story meant for kids ages 2 and up, and covers themes of resilience, persistence, and problem solving.
The dragon desperately wants a snow cone, but every time he tries, it melts from his fire breath. Rather than giving up or being hard on himself for matters he can’t control, he asks others who can eat snow cones for advice. After following numerous suggestions, he accidentally stumbled on a way that let him not only eat a snow cone but a BIG snow cone, one that wouldn’t melt too quickly!
My daughter was very engaged while I was reading this story, trying to guess which word would be used for the rhymes and asking questions about the pictures. She said the dragon did a “very good job” for asking his friends for help instead of crying. She enjoyed this book a lot and asked if we could read it as a bedtime story.
As a mom, I think this story is very cute. The rhyming makes it catchy and fun to read with small children, and the pictures are brightly colored and very well illustrated. I would recommend this book to parents who have children aged 3 or 4 and up, however, simply because of the length. Younger children have a hard time sitting still for more than a few minutes, though my daughter was able to get through it without losing interest and she’s about 3.5 years old.
Overall, this is a very cute book with a very important lesson of not giving up or being hard on yourself when you struggle to accomplish something.

Thank you Cider Mill Press and NetGalley for the free book.
This was such a fun read with my kids. They were really rooting for the dragon to get its snow cone and were quite interested at its different attempts to make it happen! They really loved the friends wanting to help the dragon succeed. The story was cute, fun, and the illustrations were great. We look forward to more books like this.

This is an adorable story book perfect for bedtime reading. The plot is fun, the prose crisp and the art is absolutely lovely.

Thank you for the ARC. This was a super cute book with fun rhymes. The pictures were bright and colorful and well illustrated. Loved the story.

A great little, funny, problem-solving book for kids. They’ll be all riled up with the problems dragons face while trying to eat a snow cone and amused and delighted by the pictures portraying the problem! They probably won’t think of the dragons’ ultimate solution but will be pleased to read (and see) that the dragon finally gets his way! Charming and amusing…it looks like might even be room for a sequel about marshmallows? Cliffhanger!

So much fun. A perfect summertime storytime book. The dragons many attempts and solutions to trying to eat the snow cone are so funny that parents and kids alike will be giggling.

Omg!!! I can't get enough of these dragon books. My kids and I just adore these picture books. So cute and perfect for reading at those cold winter bedtimes.
Dragons can't eat snow cones is definitely going to be a repeat read in my home and it should be in yours too! Also how cute are these illustrations!! Definitely recommend.

Thank you Netgalley and cider mill press , applesauce press for the ARC in exchange of an honest review.
Written by Amanda Sobotka and illustrated by Pauline Gregory, Dragons can't eat snow cones is a delightful read. The illustrations are good. My kid liked looking at the pictures but the sentences were a bit long for her so I will suggest this book for a bit older kids. It was truly delightful experience to read this book.
In between sometimes the flow felt broken but it was fine. Overall a good read for kids.

This was absolutely adorable.
This dragon does not give up and because of it not giving up, it ended with accompishing it's goal. It is written very easily and the illustrations are fun and cute.
Thanks Netgalley for the ARC.

Dragons Can't Eat Snow Cone by Amanda Sobotka is a really great humor filled story that has some amazing illustrations. I could resonate with the dragon having a dream and how he keeps trying to achieve it with various humourous fails. I loved this and would highly recommend to everyone.

Thank you Netgalley and Applesauce Press for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. The opinions written are completely honest and my own.
Colourful story about a dragon with a goal and ideas (not always good ideas) to reach that goal. The illustrations were bright and fun and the story itself was funny and entertaining.
Would buy as gift

This children's story was quite enjoyable. The illustrations were appealing, and the storyline was engaging. Rhyming tales like this one often add a nice touch and can make the story memorable. I would recommend this book to parents looking for a new fun book for children to read!

I read this to my four year old son and asked him how he liked the book. He gave it a thumbs up and said it was funny. He enjoyed the illustrations and figuring out what was going to happen next.
As a teacher, this book would be great when discussing experimentation, resources, and even growth mindset. There were a few parts where it fell flat for me, but overall I really (we both really) enjoyed this book.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for granting access to this book
This is a silly book about dragons. Even though they aren't technically real, I think this book will teach children that dragons may look big and intimidating, but they can also have a soft side to them. This book showcases this in a way that could be enjoyable for adults and children alike.
