I really enjoyed listening to this title, I found the narrative easy to listen to and the story flowed well
I am really looking forward to more from this author
Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for the opportunity to listen to this
Good listen and storyline well worth a listen
There were so many different threads to the storyline and so many characters, that it was really hard to not be suspicious of everyone and this kept me guessing right until the final reveal.
A cracker of a tale.
Taut, suspenseful and thrilling, packed with twists and turns that leave you dazed.
Highly recommended.
5 Stars.
It’s every mother’s worst nightmare when Corina Corado’s son, Gabriel, goes missing. She’s used to reporting the news but now she has become the news and the reporters are tearing her apart.
This is a story full of twists and turns keeping you guessing at every turn. I found it to be a little slow to get going but once I got in to it I was gripped. I enjoyed the twists but felt maybe a little more detail on each storyline would have been helpful as at times things seemed to spring out of nowhere.
I had the audiobook to this one, I thought the narrator was very clear and overall I really enjoyed listening, the voices put on for Corina and Charlotte made their characters sound like they were a little weak.
I will be recommending this book to anyone looking for an easy going, whodunnit mystery.
Young Daniel disappears without a trace in Central Park while walking home with his older sister. His mother, a famous news anchor, has made a few enemies. So has his father, who’s working on a controversial project. Could one of them be responsible for Gabriel’s disappearance? And if so, what are the chances of him still being alive?
Author Rick Mofina managed to get me totally emotionally involved with this family as they faced their worst nightmare. It became my nightmare too as the search drags on and on, with each new clue leading nowhere. But this is much more than an exploration of devastation. The book is fast-paced, gripping and kept me guessing.
At times I found it a little repetitive, and maybe slightly long, but in general this audiobook had all the ingredients of a must-read thriller: suspense, horror, emotion, secrets, conspiracy theorists and well-rounded characters. There’s also greed, misogyny and corruption - the story is jam-packed with the worst and best of humanity.
A great listen!
The story centres around Corina Corado, a high-profile journalist whose life is turned upside down when her six-year-old son, Gabriel, vanishes from Central Park. As a parent, the premise is chilling enough, but Mofina’s writing elevates it into a visceral and utterly consuming experience. Corina’s fear and desperation leap off the page, making it impossible not to root for her as she races against time to find her child.
Mofina weaves together a complex web of suspects and motives, keeping the reader guessing at every turn. Is Gabriel’s disappearance linked to the horrible hate mail Corina has received, or is there something darker lurking beneath the surface of her seemingly perfect family? The gradual unravelling of secrets within Corina’s household adds a layer of tension and emotional depth that makes the stakes feel all the more personal.
One of the book’s strengths is its well-drawn characters. Corina is a compelling protagonist—fierce, flawed, and determined—and her emotional journey is both heart-wrenching and inspiring. Supporting characters like her husband, Robert, and stepdaughter, Charlotte, are equally well-developed, with their secrets and struggles that contribute to the story’s intricate dynamics.
The alternating perspectives, from Corina’s frantic search to the detectives piecing together clues, keep the story moving at a relentless pace while maintaining a sense of realism. The Central Park setting is vividly depicted, adding an atmospheric backdrop to the story’s intense drama. The twists and turns are plentiful, and while some revelations are truly shocking, others are subtly predicted, rewarding attentive readers. The climax is both satisfying and gut-wrenching, tying together the narrative threads in a way that feels earned and authentic.
If there’s a critique, it’s that some aspects of the investigation felt slightly rushed, leaving a few secondary threads less fully explored than they could have been. However, this doesn’t detract significantly from the overall impact of the story.
Someone Saw Something is an electrifying thriller that explores the dark undercurrents of family secrets and the lengths a mother will go to protect her child. Rick Mofina has crafted a tale that is as emotionally resonant as it is suspenseful. Highly recommended for anyone who loves a twisty page-turner with a strong emotional core.

Awesome.
When six-year-old Gabriel vanishes from Central Park, his mother, news anchor Corina Corado, is desperate for answers. Who would take her son—and why?
Detectives suspect there’s a connection to the barrage of hate mail Corina’s received over the years. In her line of work, it’s not unusual for agitated conspiracy theorists to send messages that threaten violence…or worse. But as the investigation deepens, the secrets that Corina, her husband, Robert, and her stepdaughter, Charlotte, have kept start to unravel.
As the truth behind Gabriel’s disappearance emerges, Corina must race the clock to track down her missing child…before paying the ultimate price.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bolinda Audio for giving me an advance copy.
This was genuinely gripping. I was shocked by the ending, but immediately looking back over all the clues made it clear this would be the only way for the action to be resolved - a clever clue! While I enjoyed being thrown straight into the action, it may have been nice to get a little more information towards the start of the book. However, the writer very effectively makes the reader fall in love with the sweet boy, then (spoilers) snatches him away, leaving us just as shocked as the characters in a very short span of time. Overall a very interesting premise which moved quickly and kept me hooked until the last line! I enjoyed the narration also.
Thriller child kidnap story. Suspense filled audio book. There are lots of suspects, all seemingly strong possibilities, at least at first, to keep you guessing. I liked the audio presentation. I did find the parts of the story where the parents are so self centred to ignore their older daughter’s feelings/needs in the midst of their family chaos a little bit unbelievable. But that was a minor frustration. The whole was a good listen. Thank you to Belinda Audio and NetGalley for the audio ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.
Thank you to Netgalley for this ARC
The book was good and I was definitely kept hooked.
I wasnt sure where it would go to begin with but it had twists and turns everywhere to keep me interested.
Definitely recommend this to a thriller lover
This is my first book by the author but definitely won't be my last!
I found this book a really twisty, intriguing read and found myself trying to guess the culprit and falling for a lot of the red herrings!
The main character was interesting and bold whilst also showing an array of human emotions so you really felt for her.
The side characters also played a great role in creating a strong thriller with lots of probable culprits whilst also adding humanity to the situation of the plot.
I also want to say what an amazing job the barrier did for this! There were so many characters and multiple different ages/accents etc and they did a fantastic job for all of them!
Overall this was a great audio book, which I really enjoyed and will check out more by this author and narrator in the future.
Someone Saw Something by Rick Mofina and narrated by Jennifer Jill Araya is the first book I have read/listened to and I really enjoyed it, especially as it was full of twists and turns throughout that will have you wanting more. This was a audiobook that was hard to turn off is was fast paced the narrator Jennifer Jill Araya was excellent from the beginning till the very end.

I highly recommend this audiobook and I will be reading more from this author.
Thank you Netgalley, Bolinda Audio and Rick Mofina for the audio Arc of Someone Saw Something
Narrated by Jennifer Jill Araya
Having read Rick Mofina's Tom Reed series ( book 1-5 and highly recommended ) I was excited to read this stand alone book. Someone Saw Something gets straight into the storyline and not long, Gabriel, goes missing. This medium paced police protocol/thriller takes on the twist and turns of child kidnap. I really enjoyed the character building and even though, the main part of the story is contained within a small city, you can imagine and picture where you are.
Jill Araya narrates this book. wonderfully and her voice keeps in with the pace and tension that Rick Mofina writes in his books.
4 stars
A tense story about a boy who disappears in Central Park. Gabriel’s sister Charlotte took him to an area in the park where he could fly the plane which he made at school that day. Charlotte is texting and when she looks up, Gabriel is gone and the nightmare begins.
Why is he kidnapped, his adoptive mother is a well known journalist, the father a well respected engineer. Does it have to do with their jobs, the fact that he is adopted?
A very well narrated story and you just want to know what will happen next. A very difficult to put down book/audiobook.
Bolinda chose an excellent narrator in Jennifer Araya.
Corina' son goes missing while her step daughter is walking him home from school. A well written story with plenty of emotion. Good plotting well paced with plenty of twists. Some of the characters could have been fleshed out a bit, it is still an enjoyable story. Jennifer Jill Araya does an exceptional narration so you know which character is which. Thanks to Bolinda audio and Netgalley for this review ARC.
This audiobook was very well narrated throughout. I enjoyed the tone of the narrator’s voice and she was a pleasure to listen to. This is basically a kidnap drama which examines family dynamics in a busy household. The mother is a high profile news anchor and father is frequently absent, Not an ideal domestic setting and it gives rise to numerous questions.
There are quite a few twists as the search for the missing child is underway. At times the pacing is a little slow and some of the characters, particularly the police, are rather one dimensional. However, it’s an enjoyable romp. A little better than 3 as it held my attention through a couple of sittings, so I’ve rounded up to 4.
I shouldn't have started listening to this as I toddled off to bed - I was still listening at 3am!
This was a very enjoyable listen, the audio is excellent and compliments the story perfectly ( which doesn't always happen).
There are enough twists and turns to keep you engrossed, at times it can become a tad repetitive but it is quite a long read.
Characters were well developed including the bit players.
I really reccomend this as an addition to your December reading list.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for this ARC which was very much appreciated.
A news anchors 6 year old son is kidnapped from Central Park. Terror, stress and panic ensues …
The central plot of this book is decent if formulaic , twists and turns and a fairly engaging story. However , I found the depiction of the main characters let this book down. They lacked substance and any redeeming characteristics and so this made it difficult to care for the plot. The female characters in particular were unrealistic and the police characters felt a bit unoriginal.
I also thought the pacing was very uneven and I probably would have enjoyed this book more if it was 100 pages shorter.
A decent story but weak characters disappointed me.
What an excellent read! A twisting rollercoaster of emotions in which you are never sure who to trust. This story covers child abduction, environmental disasters, misogyny and the impact of misinformation. All topics at the front of the news today. Not only that, but it’s an enjoyable read too. I will be searching out more from Rick Mofina for sure.
3.5🌟 rounded up, just missed the 4 stars due to reasons i explain further on.
I enjoyed this book, it was very well narrated by Jennifer Jill Araya, who was able to give all characters different tones and nuances. The pitches were also well delivered at the times when needed to build suspense, etc, and develop the emotion you'd imagine if you were watching this as a movie, absolutely very well done.
The story itself finds Charlotte collecting her brother Gabriele from school in NYC where he takes off in Central Park playing with his model flying plane whilst she is in the process of texting with an older boy Vince whome her parents Corina and Robert were not happy about. It was at this time that suddenly Gabriel dissappears, and Charlotte asked for the assistance of a police officer on a horse, and from here, the investigation began to unfold.
Corina is a news journalist well known in the media and had a security team in place due to previous threats but things had calmed down to mostly online slurrs so she had felt safer meaning she had cancelled the use of that precaution over the last year they has been living a more normal life as she wanted her kids to have as normal a life as possible.
When Gabriel went missing the father Robert was on a flight on his was home from a business meeting his work involved alot of possible people being upset but could anyone really be that disappointed with his work they would use his son as leverage?
Then of course Corina herself has made many enemies along the way in her line of work but there is alot of speculation in regards to things that may happen within the lives if high profile individuals such as trafficking with various conspiracy theories as to who could be involved and why...
The family dynamics of the Corado family begin to be deeply picked apart in regards to the private adoption, etc, by people Corina considered close working friends...
There were many characters involved in this story, which does help in the beginning of who abducted Gabriel. The actual structure itself and bones of the story was good, with various important topics being covered such as trafficking, the dark web, suspicious adoptions, cults, corruption, and more. I felt it was a little drawn out and could have been concluded a bit quicker, it began to loose my interest and attention. It felt a little repetitive or predictable even at times. This is really the only main issue I had with this one. However, it is still an enjoyable listen overall.
This is the first I've read of this author and would still be interested n more in the future. With thanks to Netgalley & Bolinda Audio for this ARC in return for my own opinions to review this title.
