What a great book! I absolutely loved how twisty and clever this one was! I was totally engrossed from beginning to end and would definitely read from this author again,
I wasn’t sure about this one, but other than moving back and forth between the three main characters and their individual stories (not crazy about that), it was an interesting story. The three characters, long-time friends, are Holly, Penny and Lisa. One is being physically abused by her husband, but covers up the abuse. One is a mother of twins who has concerns about her husband and what he may be up to. The third woman is a personal trainer who may have a darker side to her with which her friends are unaware. When they gather for a weekend at one of the woman’s homes, they finally share the problems they are each having with their husbands. The decision is made…the only way to solve their problems is to get rid of their horrible husbands. The various twists, to the story, continued until the surprising end! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)
A group of friends gather for a girl's weekend. After a few drinks, it comes out that everyone is hiding secrets about their husbands. But they can't be that bad. Right? You'll have to read to find out.
I really like this book!
Jessica Huntley delivers a gripping thriller that had my heart racing from start to finish. This fast-paced, twist-filled novel keeps readers on edge with its unpredictable plot and clever storytelling.
Penny, Holly, and Lisa have been inseparable since childhood, believing they shared everything—until Lisa’s devastating secret about her husband, Simon, is revealed. He’s been abusing her, but she’s not the only one hiding the truth. During their weekend getaway, Penny and Holly’s secrets surface as well, leading the trio to a shocking decision: to take justice into their own hands. What follows is a gripping, tension-filled journey packed with unexpected twists, moral dilemmas, and a darkness that tests the limits of their friendship.
The multiple POVs and timeline shifts enhance the narrative, offering deeper insight into the characters and their choices. Huntley’s writing is sharp and immersive, making this an addictive, binge-worthy read. Despite the dark themes, there are moments of humor that balance the intensity. The open-ended conclusion leaves room for interpretation, making the final twist even more satisfying.
If you love thrillers that keep you guessing until the very last page, Horrible Husbands is a must-read.

While away on a girl's weekend, three friends share secrets about their husbands' unsavory behavior that has them taking karma into their own hands. Can they get away with not only one, but three murders? Fast paced, twisty and hilarious.
Lisa, Penny, and Holly became close friends when they met in dance class at age 7. They are now in their early 30’s and are still very close even though they don’t live near one another. They always called themselves The Bitches.
Lisa is a pharmacist married to Simon. While she loves him dearly, he has taken to losing his temper and being physically violent to her, injuring her. She tries to cover up her bruises and hopes that he will stop doing this.
Penny owns her own company and is married to Drake, who is in insurance and works on the east coast in the U.S. most of the time. They have twins, Lori and Luca. Their home is quite large and expensive. However, Penny has just discovered something about Drake this is disgusting and she wants him gone.
Holly is a personal trainer and is in quite good shape herself. She is married to a man who lost his job and doesn’t do anything but loaf around the house. She knows he is gambling again and worries that he may be stealing her money.
When the three friends decide to get together at Penny’s home for a long weekend, they end up telling one another about all of the problems they are having with their husbands. That’s when they come up with idea to do away with them. Now, they have to figure out how to do it and not get caught.
Oh my goodness! What a story this is. There dark humor, violence, and revenge all rolled up into the perfect book. I wasn’t expecting the ending to be like it was, but it did wrap things up quite nicely. This is a 5-star read so enjoy!

'Three best friends. Three women who will do anything for each other. Including killing their horrible husbands.' This is what grabbed me from the beginning and I knew this book would be interesting and full of thrilling suspense and intrigue. And I wasn't wrong.
A great book that had you gripped from the start and I love the characters, Penny, Lisa and Holly and their friendship that goes beyond what any friendship does. It is fast paced, enthralling, emotional and so much more. I just couldn't put it down.

Horrible Husbands by Jessica Huntley was so addictive and I ended up reading it all afternoon and I loved it! It is full of brilliant twists and turns that will have you turning the pages to find out what happens next.
Penny, Lisa and Holly have been best friends since childhood, they're all married and are hiding secrets about their marriage to their husbands.. They haven't seen each other in person for over three years, even though they text and FacetTime each other constantly. Now, they have finally going on a weekend away and the alcohol starts pouring, the truth finally comes out about their husbands.
Penny: I know my husband has cheated on me. But I can’t believe what I just found in the bedside drawer.
Are my children safe . . . ?
Lisa: The first time he did it was on our wedding anniversary. He broke down in tears afterwards.
That’s the thing about Simon. He’s always sorry afterwards!!!. . . until the next time, always the next time!!! Of she survives!
Holly: My husband is useless. He just loafs around the house all day and spends my money.
But now I think he’s done something far worse.
"Is your husband so horrible that you’d ask your best friend to kill him?"
"Now thats a big question to ask someone!!! Would you?????"
A great book to get your teeth into and it will not disappoint!
WoW.......This is So good! I loved it! I highly recommend this book it was brilliant from start to finish.
Horrible Husbands is an addictive, twisty thriller that I could not put down! I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to find out how it ended, but at the same time I was sad when I finished it because I loved it so much! The plot is so cleverly crafted, and the twists and turns had me shocked! The characters in this book are most definitely flawed, but I loved them all the sake and found myself rooting for them. This book is a great mix of dark moments, emotional moments, and also humorous moments. It really was just the perfect mix of everything for me.
Overall, I loved this book and I can’t wait to read more by this author!

Penny, Holly and Lisa get together after many years for a girl's weekend. They keep in regular contact via Whatsapp, but do not mention how unhappy their marriages are.
It all comes out over the weekend, and they decide to kill their husbands.
Easily a 5 star read for me. I stayed up late to try and finish it, but the need to sleep won, so I woke up early to read the final chapters.
Riveting, fast paced, emotional, triggering. I could not put it down.

Horrible Husbands by Jessica Huntley is a suspenseful but also laugh out loud hilarious thriller! I couldn't put this book down I was so invested in what was going on. Lisa, Holly and Penny have been friends since childhood, sharing secrets, dreams and laughs as they navigated life together. Even after they moved to opposite ends of the country they still kept in touch with The B!tches group chat. But each of these women are hiding things. Lisa is married to Simon who abuses her, Holly is married to Will a lazy thief and Penny is married to Drake who cheated on her and who knows what else he is hiding. After 3 years of not seeing each other in person The B!tches plan a weekend at Penny's house where copious amounts of alcohol is consumed and all of the secrets the girls have hidden from each other come out. Thus begins a plan to reclaim who they once were. A plan to kill their horrible husbands.
This book was a highly amusing and thrilling read. Told from the POVs of the three women, this book alternates from the present to the past while we figure out all of the secrets that are being kept. And that ending? Holy! I thought I knew what was going on but nope.. I was wrong! If you are looking for an addictive humorous thriller that you want to read in one sitting, look no further!

Thank you to NetGalley, Jessica Huntley, and Joffe Books for the ebook. This book was intense and emotionally challenging, with numerous triggers and trauma. However, the vigilante theme kept the story moving at a fast pace. I'm still processing my thoughts on it, but overall, it was a gripping and thrilling read.
I have been a fan of Jessica Huntley's work for a while so i was very excited to read this and it did not disappoint. I felt gripped immediately and it had such great twists.
I love this book and I love this author. I live for books about bad husbands. It scratches some weird itch I have. Freely hating these fictional men gives me so much joy.
That ending! I was so surprised.
As a mother of twins I felt so much for Penny. I have to say that the Acknowledgements gave me chills. I have an Alice and a Kate. I hope they go on girls trips with their bestie when they're all grown up. I hope they come up with books too.
Three best friends plot to kill their husbands, this is the premise for a enjoyable twisty ride that hooks you from the start. Loved the book it's a one sitting read. Good characterisation and well plotted and a superb twist. Look forward for more from this author. Thanks to Joffe books and Netgalley for this review ARC.

I loved it. It is a great, unpredictable read. It is Good fun with a great plot and good characters. I recommend it.
Three women, best friends since childhood. Three husbands, who have all made big mistakes. When a weekend away gets the girls to finally be honest with each other, we get this fantastic page turner…
“The Bitches” haven’t seen each other in three years, though they text and FaceTime constantly. All three women have things in their marriages that they haven’t even confessed to their best friends: Lisa is married to the abusive Simon, Penny is married to the cheating Drake, and Holly is married to the lazy, thieving Will - and these are the LEAST of the things these men have done. I’ll let those who read it find out the rest of their sins, but let’s just say, you may want to kill them too!
When Penny invites her friends to her house for a weekend and the alcohol starts pouring, a deviously delicious plan is hatched - they need to kill their horrible husbands. This book had me hooked from page one, but when the planning started, I couldn’t stop reading until the ending that had me laughing and pumping my fist. Told from the points of view of the three women, this book seamlessly works its way through events of the past, as well as what is happening in the present.
I haven’t read a book this suspenseful in quite a long time - the bonus is that this book is also darkly humorous, filled with great characters, and gets emotional at times. It’s not easy to put all of those facets into a book, as well as have so many stories happening at the same time, and not have everything come out convoluted, but the author did it. There was no way I could put this one down until it was over, and because it’s so enthralling, it was a very quick read. Five stars!
(Thank you to Joffe Books, Jessica Huntley and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review. This book is slated to be released on January 23, 2025.)
This book is crazy….in a good way!! Definitely held my attention from start to finish. Read it very quickly because I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. A girls weekend went from lounging poolside and lots of wine drinking to planning their husbands demise. Good satisfying ending….which is a dealbreaker for me. I’ve already recommended this book to friends and coworkers. Put this on your TBR list!!
