I really enjoyed this book! It was an engaging read from start to finish, and I found it incredibly accessible. The writing was easy to follow, and I appreciated how the story kept me hooked without feeling overwhelming. Overall, it was a great experience, and I definitely recommend it!

Yet another great holiday read. Kate is a people pleasure and I could totally relate. The oops acceptance of the marriage proposal was funny. I loved grumpy Sam and their relationship. Kate had some major growth along the way.

Emma Tallon brings holiday magic to life in Snow Going Back, a charming enemies-to-lovers romance filled with humor, heart, and just the right amount of festive chaos. Perfect for fans of forced proximity and slow-burn tension, this delightful holiday rom-com will have listeners swooning and laughing in equal measure.
Kate’s last-minute escape to Boston feels like the perfect way to dodge an unexpected marriage proposal—until she realizes she has to share her temporary home with Sam, a grumpy-yet-irresistible stranger. Their clashing personalities lead to hilarious (and sometimes infuriating) moments, but as the snow falls and the holiday spirit takes hold, their icy dynamic begins to melt. When Kate’s past unexpectedly catches up with her, she’s forced to decide: return to the comfortable familiarity of her old life or take a chance on something new?
The audiobook format makes the witty banter and sizzling chemistry between Kate and Sam even more enjoyable. The narration brings out the humor, emotion, and festive atmosphere, making it an irresistible listen for cozy winter nights.
With its blend of humor, heartfelt moments, and Christmas charm, Snow Going Back is a must-listen for fans of Catherine Walsh and Emily Henry. It’s a warm, feel-good romance that reminds us that sometimes, the best gifts are the unexpected ones.

Loved this FUN listen! Kate was not expecting the surprise she got when Lance asked her to marry him at a visit with her parents and he mistook her yes and declared to all "she said yes?" People popped out and she was stunned. Lucky for her she received a phone call and was called to the States for business so she literally was able to run away from her life. While in Vermont, far away from her family in the UK, she has to weed her way through all the journals and history and very old will to find how to distribute the proceeds of recently deceased woman who owned family business. She has moved into her home to go through her things to find answers. She is challenged by the weather and driving, it is Vermont after all, and she is stuck in the middle of the road and causes a one-car accident. The man who crashes and is carted off to jail shows up at the house the next day. When she calls the police, she is the one who is arrested. Oh, the miscommunication. He is the deceased nephew who has been away and she is in his house. What is she to do when she really is not ready to get married or at least to the man she is engaged to but finds herself intrigued by what is happening in the States. Not only that but saving the business of the woman she has grown to know through her journals. I really did love this story.

I enjoyed this! I liked the pranks the characters played on each other, and the eventual relationship was worth the hijinks to get there!
One think I didn't understand was the narrator's accent: When she read for the character it was British, but when she was just narrating it was American English. I would expect that, even if it's internal monologue, the narration would be in the same accent as the character.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ARC
A good holiday romance about breaking out of relationships where you aren't comfortable. Our FMC gets engaged with her boyfriend even though she doesn't really want to. In the aftershock she learns that he has different expectations of their lives together than she does. A job crisis across the Atlanteren therefore comes as a deilightful escape and might show her a new love.
I liked the points the book made and enjoyed the romance. I wouldn't say it's especially Christmassy, but good nonetheless

I struggled a bit with this one, and I think my hesitation comes down to the marketing—it didn’t feel like a holiday romance or even a romance in the traditional sense. Instead, it’s more of a serious love story centered on adult issues and personal growth, reminding me of *Slow Dance* from earlier this year. At its heart, the real love story is the FMC learning to love herself. While the “cheating” angle has been triggering for some readers, I didn’t see it that way at all. To me, the FMC didn’t cheat; instead, she gained perspective on her partner through a new friendship (not an emotional affair) and realized she didn’t have to settle for a scripted version of adulthood. It did take me a while to connect with her, and the enemies-to-lovers trope leaned more mean-spirited than fun, which isn’t usually my vibe. Plus, as the best lawyer at her firm, I expected her to handle certain things differently. Thank you to Dreamscape, and NetGalley for the audiobook ARC!

Rounding up from 3.5. I went back and forth a lot with this one, and I think my issues stemmed from the marketing strategy. I would really not classify this as a holiday romance. I would argue it isn't a romance at all--not in the way that it makes people want to throw a book across the room when the main characters don't get together, but in that it is more of a serious love story with adult issues and growth. (Think Slow Dance from earlier this year.) And I think the love story is the main characters recognition of how to love herself. Spoilers: I've read a lot of reviews where people said that the "cheating" angle was triggering, and I don't want to discount those feelings, but I didn't see it as cheating at all. I thought specifically the FMC did NOT cheat. I thought she had an opportunity to see a side of her partner that didn't mesh with her view of him as a dating connection, and she developed a friendship (not emotional affair) and was exposed to a male POV that showed her she didn't have to settle for a scripted set of adult standards. It took me a while to get into and to connect to the character, and the advertised enemies-to-lovers trope was really mean compared to what I find fun normally. Also I thought as the best lawyer at a firm she would have handled things differently. But if you are looking for a real woman-coming-into-her-own story, this ultimately won me over. Thank you to Bookouture, Dreamscape and NetGalley for the audiobook ARC and the opportunity to share my review.

Snow Going Back is a decent read, though it didn’t leave as strong an impression as I hoped. The main character, Kate, is likable enough—passionate and determined in her efforts to settle the will of a company in a small town. Her dedication to the case and the people involved is clear, and while I didn’t find myself fully invested, I could appreciate her drive and focus throughout the story.
That said, I did find some aspects of the plot a bit frustrating. Specifically, Kate’s relationship with her new fiancé felt unrealistic at times. It's clear from early on that they’re not the right match, yet Kate keeps leading him on for much longer than necessary. This created a tension that felt more uncomfortable than compelling, especially when she seemed to know deep down they were wrong for each other. While I get that this could be a reflection of her own personal growth, it did make it hard to fully connect with her in those moments.
Additionally, I’ll admit I’m not the biggest fan of the "enemies to lovers" trope or the heavy use of miscommunication in romance stories, both of which were present here. These tropes can feel a bit forced and repetitive at times, and while Snow Going Back handled them better than most, they still weren’t my favorite elements of the book.
Overall, though, the story is still an enjoyable read with a lot of heart. If you're a fan of small-town romances, holiday reads, enemies to lovers, late stage miscommunication and character-driven narratives, Snow Going Back is worth checking out.

Snow going Back by Emma Tallon
Audiobook was excellent. Narration on point even if the accent did slip on occasion.
Kate is a lawyer, right after her boyfriend proposes, she is sent to Boston to figure out a will. It's a welcome reprieve from the proposal she didn’t want except the house they put her up in, has the nephew still living in it and he isn’t happy about her being there.
The antagonism is evident but the more they learn about each other, the less frost there is in the house… Except now she has feelings for a man she barely knows and a wedding to a man she didn’t want to say yes to..
I loved the relationship between Kate and Sam. They seem so different and the pranking they do… had me giggling so hard! It was nice to watch these enemies turn to friendship. I feel like Kate was stuck in a rut before agreeing to marry a man she had lukewarm feelings for. It was great to watch her spread her wings.
I thought the writing was cute and I loved all the Christmas feels! It was a super easy read and very entertaining.

Snow Going Back Review!
Thank you Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for this gifted audio, in exchange for an honest review! Snow Going Back is out now! I will always want to sprinkle in a cute small town romance during Christmas and this one was fun. Definitely read like cheesy Hallmark movie. Big town business girl runs into small town grumpy man. I am not a fan of infidelity at all and this one was just on the cusp of it for me. I also thought the romance felt very rushed. Overall, if you like cheesy Hallmark movies, odds are you will enjoy this one. 3.5/5 stars.

I received a copy of this audiobook from netGalley for a honest review.
I loved this Christmas romance/lawyer story so much. It was fun to see the mistaken identities and see Kate learn about all the people in the town. The struggle both with saving the company and realizing her fiancé was not for her were real. I will read more by this author.

3⭐️, 0.5🌶️
I was interested in the first 1/3 of this book, but then I just lost all interest - idk whether reading between Christmas and traveling or the story itself but my attention didn’t stay stuck to the book and I missed sooo much, and by the time I clued back into the end of the book I missed quite a bit and was confused. But I couldn’t go back to listen…cause I wasn’t invested enough to mind. So maybe the end would have been more interesting with the mystery or Kate’s (overly and toxically) dramatic family.
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an ALC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Following an unwanted (but accepted) proposal, Kate finds herself running away from her fiance to take a last-minute work trip to Boston. She discovers that she’ll be rooming with Sam which may or may not be a bad thing. This gave some messy mid 20-30s life crisis with some enemies-to-lovers and forced proximity. The plot is reminiscent of Twice Shy with some ridiculousness, mommy issues, and omission of communication. Overall, a light, easy read.
Thanks NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the arc!

A romantic comedy that had almost zero romance (not even a kiss!) and no comedy. It fell flat for me.
The characters were quite two dimensional, with little depth to them at all and the 'baddies' were a tad over the top (kettles of boiling water - really?). Considering the MC was a lawyer sent over to spend 6 weeks with people to gauge who gets the company, she didn't do a good job of getting to know them and makes a colossal mistake. Perhaps conversing with them first then getting opinions (like she was supposed to) would have saved the drama and the court case where she's hailed as a hero (only because she blew it beforehand).
I listened to this on audio (thanks Netgalley and Dreamscape Media) and the narrator was not the best for this. Juggling American and English accents is hard and didn't quite pull it off. And the mothers voice was soooo grating.
A quick holiday read.

Cute, clever, and very original, I enjoyed Emma Tallon's Snow Going Back.
The audio version is nicely performed by Hayden Bishop.

In "Snow Going Back," British lawyer, Kate, is suddenly summoned to the US by her firm to handle an unusual case in Vermont. And the summons offers Kate the perfect opportunity to hide right after her long-term boyfriend, Lance, decided to propose to her (out of nowhere!) in front of her domineering mother. Caught off guard, Lance interprets her response as a stunned acceptance of his proposal (after all, what else would her answer be?!), and the gears start churning.
So, not only is Kate unexpectedly engaged, but the wedding is only nine weeks away. Therefore, when one of the partners in her firm says she is urgently needed in the US, she packs a bag and leaves as quickly as she can.
But when she finds out more about the case she has to work on for the next six weeks, she has to content with Lance's disapproval and her mother's ire, all while trying to figure out what's going on with the estate she has to settle.
To top off all of the other surprises of the past few days, when she gets to Vermont, she learns that she has a grumpy housemate named Sam to contend with as well! But as time goes on, learning more about the person whose estate she's settling, meeting the people of the small town she's stuck in, and finally breaking past her housemate's walls reveal another side of life that she's been missing out on.
The question is, with her life at a crossroads, which way does she want to turn?
If you like stories with strong, intelligent women, witty banter, and grumpy counterparts, you'll want to check this story out.
Thank you to Emma Tallon, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for an advance review copy.

Kate is a lawyer and she gets accidentally engaged to her boyfriend and she isn't happy with how he is behaving since the engagement. The wedding is on the new year and she has to live in one of her client's house for 6 weeks to manage the estate and decide who the new CEO of their business is going to be as per the contract.
The tropes are haters to lovers, forced proximity and I loved their initial confusion, banter and pranks. They were very entertaining. I liked the entire plot of her deciding the new owner and it was a wild ride and kept me guessing. They liked how the old owner's storyline was equally important and they were not just 2 dimensional characters.
I wish there was more spark and chemistry between Sam and Kate but I liked how she never really thought of cheating even though she wasn't interested in getting married to her fiance. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was perfect for Christmas week.

Delightful and a solid 4.5 stars. I truly enjoyed Snow Going Back. Yes, there were preposterous moments that stretched plausibility, starting with the "accidental" proposal acceptance followed by Kate's apparent unbothered ability to drive effortlessly on back roads in the Northeast immediately upon arriving from Britain. But Kate's determination to do her job and keep everyone happy was admirable, and her rocky relationship with Sam was fun to watch change. I was rooting for them both as the story progressed, and I'll happy read more romantic comedy from this talented author.

This book was cute. A nice fun quick read with an enemies to lovers storyline. I listened to the audiobook and I liked the narrator although sometimes her British accent was not consistent.
