This was a cute holiday read!
When Kate is surprised by her boyfriend with a marriage proposal that she is not sure she wants, she panics and accepts a work assignment in Boston. To fulfill a clients wishes, she moves into the deceased client's house and ends up becoming roommates with the client's family, As Kate gets to know Sam better, she continues to question her engagement.
I liked that this book had Kate evaluating her life, not just romantically but also what her values are and who is important to her. It was a bonus that there were diary entries from the past that Kate delved into to know her late client's wishes. This was a light-hearted read that had me cheering for Kate!

Snow going back is the first book. I have read by this author. It was a genuine surprise to me that I loved this book! I find it hard to find holiday romance books that actually live up to the hype, but this one did! The hilarity between the two main characters had me rolling with laughter. I could just imagine the events playing out in real life. So funny! I loved the strong female, main character’s personality, and the fact that she is in her mid 30s and not yet married or with children. It felt very realistic and with the times. A very modern take on many women nowadays. Excellent book and I’ll be back to read more by this author!

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advance listener copy of Snow Going Back!
The phone call requiring Kate's presence in America ASAP after accidentally getting engaged to her boyfriend could not have come at a better time. While Kate initially is horrified at the prospect of an even longer stay in the U.S., once she is there, she finds she doesn't want to return home to plan a wedding she doesn't want in the first place. As Kate lingers in America, she discovers more about herself and her goals and isn't sure they align with those of her fiancé, Lance. Amidst this uncertainty in her relationship drives Sam. Literally as he almost hits her car. And then things escalate from there in the enemies department. But could enemies turn into lovers?
Coming from a legal background, the premise of this book is ridiculous. There is no way a lawyer would write a will requiring the lawyer decide who gets someone's money. Beyond that, I found few of the characters likeable and the situations they got themselves involved in were ridiculous. I didn't enjoy it much at all.
The narration was fine. I felt the accents were a bit uneven at times.

Snow Going Back is like reading a Hallmark Christmas movie. And I love reading these types of books at Christmas as well as watching the Hallmark movies. We all know they are cheesy, feel good stories. But like the Hallmark movies, there is a varying level of quality when it comes to the Christmas rom com books and this one felt like one of the lower budget movies. It's normal for most plots to be central around the fact that the entire story wouldn't have happened if the main characters had a simple conversation but that feeling just kept happening! I just couldn't get over that none of these characters spoke to each other. It also felt so unbelievable that a lawyer would just go along with an engagement. Overall, Snow Much Fun was a cheesy Christmas read with a closed door romance. Was it terrible? No. But it wasn't a stand out.

I really liked the premis for this book, although I would have like a little more romance. The characters were likeable and the humour and festive festive added to my enjoyment of the book. The only thing that let it down for me was the narrator’s bad English accent, which I found quite grating.

The banter between Kate and Sam was great. I lived thr small town atmosphere and how everyone was like family. However, this was a romantic comedy, and there was not a lot of romance. Thr narrator was just okay. Sometimes the voices were weird.

I had this pub date written down wrong in my journal! I apologize for missing the download but am on the waitlist at the library and will return to review once I read!

. Overall, I thought this was a lovely holiday read. I enjoyed the story and the characters although I did struggle a bit with the singular POV. I think this book would have really been great if we got Sam's POV as well because I really enjoyed his character.
It was sweet to watch Kate, realize what she really wanted out of her life (and it wasn't the fiancé she left back in England, that's for sure) and I loved how the author seemed to correlate parts of Kate's story with Cora's through the diaries. I would really have loved more of Cora :)
I think my favorite part of this book was the pranks that Kate & Sam played on one another. I did like their dynamic a lot and I thought they were sweet together.
It was a cozy read/listen and I did like the narrator even though it's been awhile since I've listened to single narration and it is not necessarily my go to.
If you are looking for a sweet, easy to read closed door romance with lots of holiday vibes then I think this would be a great book for you

In Snow Going Back, a woman get a surprise engagement and then immediately sent from England to Boston for a work assignment and is forced to live with a man she quickly despises. Side note, I am a lawyer and have never heard of a lawyer doing what she had to do - essentially inventory assets of a deceased and decide the fate of a company. But regardless, this book was hilarious. I guffawed several times. Very snarky banter. And a sweet romcom with close proximity and enemies to lovers and opposites attract. It had that British romcom humor that I find cozy and charming with such endearing characters.

I thought this was a cute enemies to lovers book - I wish there had been a little more of them falling for each other, because it seemed a little abrupt. I did like it overall!

I liked the male character lead here but not the female lead and her arc, and the book ended too quickly. I liked the town and side characters.

Overall this one was okay, but I had a very hard time getting past the FMC being British, but the narrator being…not British…and honestly not even being able to pass off as British. The accent the narrator uses for the characters is so fake, and I spent a lot of time wondering why the FMC was inner-monologuing with an American accent but speaking in a (fake) British one. It really took away from the story for me, if I’m being completely honest. The story was everything I expect from a winter/Christmas rom-com, and I really did enjoy the story, which is why I finished the book. Under other circumstances, I might have DNF’d after the first few chapters, but I definitely relate to Kate’s struggle and I liked her as a character.

This story had a lot of potential, but I felt like it fell flat at times.
I enjoyed the tropes, but found it difficult since the FMC was engaged for a large portion of the story.
I think that the one POV was also not the best choice for the story, there was a lot that I felt was beneath the story but it was just not told.
I did not feel attached to the characters either, and I wish I could've.

I wanted so bad to love this book and unfortunately it just fell flat for me. I really struggled with the emotional infidelity and the way that the mmc was strung along. I definitely think others will enjoy this story as it was well written, had great pacing, the narration was very well done, etc, the story just didn't work for my tastes and preferences.

This was so cute!!! After accidentally (???) saying yes to her boyfriend’s marriage proposal, Kate is sent on a work trip where she meets Sam. The MCs bickering and antics were hilarious, it really has you rooting for them. It left me really wondering why does she stay engaged to her fiancé for so long? There is absolutely no cheating in this book but Kate clearly does not want to get married…I don’t even know if she likes the guy ? He also wasn’t a total asshole (which I appreciated), they just wanted different things out of life. Kinda had me feeling sorry for Lance.
I guess because she stayed with Lance for so long there was also no opportunity for a 3rd act break up which I also appreciated.
The narrator did a fantastic job! Highly recommend picking up this audiobook.
Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was absolutely a hallmark movie. Kate's boyfriend has surprised her with proposing and she feels trapped. Work sends her to a small town in the states where she is expected to be the big time lawyer and solve the problems for the town, where she meets Sam, the annoying but hot guy. over time, she learns the importance of family and employee loyalty and falls for Sam.
Overall this story was just a story. I didn't swoon for the characters. it was definitely enemies to lovers but the enemy portion lasted quite a long time. and then the break up between Kate and her fiance was really lackluster.
Narration was good though. I liked the man voice that she had.
I plan to share this book on my instagram on Wednesday, Dec 11 at www.instagram.com/robinashleyreads.

Lance misinterprets Kate’s frustrated “yes” when he proposed and now Kate is stuck planning a wedding she doesn’t want. The next day, she’s called to Boston to work a case in VT that’s going to require her to be gone for at least 6 weeks. She is stuck living with the nephew of the lady whose case she’s working on and he is not happy about it either.
I thought this was a cute book. It had a very interesting premise.. it was frustrating seeing Kate lead everyone on planning this wedding when she clearly didn’t want it. I understand being a people pleaser but there’s no way I could be engaged to someone and not want to be!
The relationship between Kate and Sam was funny when they were enemies - pulling pranks on one another. But then all of a sudden things flipped and they were actually getting to know one another in a real way.
Amy was a great best friend already planning an escape plan from the wedding with a go bag ready to go! Way to be prepared! But also why didn’t she say something to Kate sooner?!
This book releases on December 10th! Thank you Emma Tallon, Dreamscape Media, and netgalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

What a fun and cute little holiday romcom. This books was like a warm hug and cup of cocoa. The setting is lovely and prefect for the season. The characters are cute and funny while also having real motivations for their actions. I did not love the audio narration as the accent did not sound authentic. Take some time out of your day and give this one a listen for the holiday season!

There were some problematic themes in this book and it made me a little less interested in the story. But it was still a nice winter read.

The concept is great. The execution was okay. I can’t stand just crazy irrational people who feel unrealistic, and I saw that in several of these characters. I enjoyed the first 10% of the story, then found myself annoyed and bored as I went on. This was not a fun enemies to lovers in my opinion. The romance was lackluster and awkward, and the FMC was a red flag. This was just not for me.
