This sat for me at a solid three stars because it’s a book that I would recommend for the holiday season but it’s not that I know months from now.

Absolutely loved the writing style and the narration from Hayden Bishop.

I even felt the panic that the FMC Kate felt after Lance proposed because I too hate surprises, they do not induce positive emotions for me. I found Kate very relatable and very entertaining. I especially enjoyed the parts where the devil and angel would appear, that was quite hilarious.

I love it when my enemies to lovers play pranks on each other, it’s all round always a good time when they piss each other off and come up with new and devious ways to ruin the other person day 😂

All in all, a very fun Christmas listen, it kept me intrigued the entire time (and that’s a hard thing to do for me when there is no spice 😉😂)

the beginning was hard to get into - the proposal at Kate’s family’s felt like it was dragging on too long but I wanted to push in and see what happened after. Things really picked up when Kate & Sam met, and I laughed at their pranks & banter. There was a lot going on with her engagement, her work finding out who should get the company, people threatening for control, her & Sam, Cora’s diaries… it was a lot to follow and left questions (like who was the other guy in Cora's life she left for William?!)

Snow Going Back by Emma Tallon is the first book I have read by this author. It had one of my favorite tropes- enemies to lovers but had a hard time connecting to the two MCs in this one.

Still this book was a festive rom-come and had a lot of good laugh-out-loud moments. The charm that a good winter setting brings is always my favorite.

The story has only Kate’s POV, and is written in 3rd person. This also didn't have the romance I typically love in books and the miscommunication trope was quite present and that also isn't always my favorite.

I did love all the twists and turns that you didn't see coming. Cute, sweet and lots of funny moments!

Snow Going Back while short was hilarious, I enjoyed the banter between Sam and Kate. They were constantly playing pranks on each other, which gave the story an entertaining element.

However, it wasn't very detailed or deep, which left it feeling semi basic. That being said, it was still a fun, simple holiday read!

I was in the mood for a seasonal romance book, so I picked this one up and it was good! Wasn't my favourite book of the year, but I still had fun with it. The miscommunication thing going on at the beginning did bother me a bit, everything could've been avoided if Kate just said the truth about how she was feeling. Kate's mum was also infuriating, however I loved her best friend Amy, she seemed such a supportive person! I also liked the writing. I do recommend reading it, it was still a fun read!

Snow Going Back is such a fun holiday rom-com, and the Boston setting with all the snow and Christmas lights made it feel extra cozy. Kate and Sam were hilarious together, her trying to escape an awkward proposal and him being a grumpy “lumberjack” roommate led to so many laugh-out-loud moments. Their banter was top notch, and you could feel the chemistry building even when they were annoying each other. The narrator also nailed the vibe, making the story so easy to get into.

The story wasn’t just funny but had some really sweet and heartfelt moments too. Kate’s dilemma between going back to her safe but boring life with Lance or taking a chance on Sam felt so real. And Sam? Total grump to sweetheart goals. By the end, I was totally rooting for them, and the ending just left me smiling. If you’re looking for a light, festive romance with a bit of sass, this one's a must listen/read!

Kate’s casual boyfriend proposes to her out of nowhere—and in front of her entire (and very excited) family. And she’s none too thrilled, but way too chicken to say anything. So when her boss calls with an urgent assignment in Boston, she’s only too happy to jump on a plane. Immediately.

Off she goes, and then learns she has to spend six weeks in a small town in Vermont sorting out the estate of a huge client and business owner. As she settles in to the house she’s been provided, she’s stunned to find that someone already lives there. Someone who’s already become her nemesis in this town. And who happens to be one of the hottest men she’s ever seen.

As they’re forced to share space and spend time together, and after some drama, they figure out things are better when they’re on the same team. Secrets are shared, doors are cracked open a bit, feelings grow.

The pettiness, pranks, and banter at the beginning cracked me up—I could read the book for those scenes alone. I loved how Kate and Sam grew closer in a platonic, though longing, way. However, Kate really annoyed me for a lot of the book with her lack of a backbone, whether it was stringing her fiancé and family along or shying away other confrontations that almost had catastrophic consequences for other people. Sam also hid some things he shouldn’t have, which also could have spelled disaster. But I love how both characters experienced so much personal growth, supported each other, and figured out what they wanted. And Kate grew a backbone! Overall, a fun and heartwarming holiday read!

Snow Going Back is a Christmas/wintery enemies-to-lovers romcom set in a cozy small town in Vermont. This is definitely a romance for the lit-fic fans! The romance almost felt like a subplot, but I still really enjoyed it. The two MCs truly do start out as enemies, with BOTH of them causing the other to get arrested, then it snowballs from there. I really enjoyed this book! I will definitely be checking out more from this author.

I listened to this on audio, and this comment is strictly about the audio performance and not the book itself. I was not a huge fan of the narrator using an American accent for all of the book, then only using a British accent when the FMC, Kate, was speaking/thinking. I know the book is in third person, but it really threw me off, considering that the whole book is from the Kate’s POV. Again, this is just about the audio performance!

Thank you Dreamscape and NetGalley for providing me with an audio ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Overall I enjoyed Snow Going Back, but it didn’t quite stand out as anything special. I enjoyed the writing style and the narrators but I couldn’t quite get over the emotional infidelity in this one. The small town vibes were so cosy. I’d recommend this one if you like closed door romances with light and cosy vibes.

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁: This was a fun read, I always love a good enemies to lovers. I loved the sparks between the two MCs since the first time they met. It was an interesting storyline that was unique for a holiday read. I loved the FMCs British accent in the audiobook.

Kate was just proposed to by her boyfriend Lance; and she accidentally said yes. Now things are snowballing out of control and she doesn’t know what to do. Thankfully her work had a last minute emergency and she was called in for a meeting. That’s why she’s fleeing the UK and heading to the States the day after she said yes.

Turns out one of the clients Kate represents as a lawyer requires her to move to the small town for the next six weeks. Since the last living relative passed it is up to her to decide who deserves to inherit the company left behind, as there is no current will. This should be pretty straightforward.

But what she didn’t expect was Sam, the lumberjack who she didn’t know lives in the house she’s required to stay in. Sam and Kate begin a war of the roommates that escalates quickly landing Kate in jail her first night there.

But the town’s fate is in jeopardy if Kate awards the inheritance to the wrong person so there is no time for this game between them. Plus Kate needs to figure out what she needs to do in her own life too.

This will be a holiday full of big decisions with big impacts. No pressure Kate!

I almost DNFed this book at 10% because I struggled with the mix of an American-accented narration and British-accented dialogue. But I'm so glad I pushed through! This turned out to be such a delightful and cozy winter romcom. From laugh-out-loud moments to the slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers trope set in a charming winter wonderland, this book was an absolute gem!

This book delivers all the cozy, laugh-out-loud moments you’d hope for in a Christmas rom-com, with a sprinkling of tension and heartwarming romance. Set in a snow-covered, festive Boston, the story follows Kate as she escapes a mortifying public proposal and finds herself accidentally sharing a house with Sam—a rugged, infuriating stranger who’s as prickly as he is handsome.

The forced proximity trope works wonderfully here, as Kate and Sam’s initial clashes—over stolen milk and game nights gone wrong—evolve into moments of vulnerability and connection. Tallon captures their enemies-to-lovers dynamic with wit and charm, making their gradual thawing into mutual affection feel natural and satisfying. Sam’s unexpected chivalry and Kate’s inner conflict between her past (with Lance) and the possibilities of her future add depth to this frothy, feel-good tale.

Hayden Bishop’s narration brings this festive rom-com to life with warmth and charisma. Her ability to distinguish between characters through subtle shifts in tone and delivery makes the audiobook an engaging experience. Bishop captures Kate’s humor and frustration perfectly, while lending Sam a gruff yet endearing voice that highlights his complexity. Her lively narration enhances the Hallmark-movie vibe, making the audiobook a delightful companion for the holiday season.

A cozy, heartwarming Christmas read full of witty banter, festive cheer, and romantic sparks. Hayden Bishop’s excellent narration elevates the story, making it a must-listen for fans of enemies-to-lovers tales!

Overall, this was a sweet story of growth and self boundaries. I enjoyed the FMC and enjoyed her personal growth throughout the story. I thought the MMC was enjoyable, but wasn’t anything super special.

I didn’t enjoy that the FMC’s fiance was strung along for the first 75% of the book, but when you take a step back while she was thinking that she didn’t want to be married i think she also just thought it was what she was supposed to do. Was there emotional infidelity, maybe? BUT i think overall she just needed to set some personal boundaries and figure out what she truly wanted in life.

I enjoyed the basic plot points of the book as well - the concept of an outside lawyer coming in and her “getting to know” the deceased couple. It was fresh and new to me and i liked that.

The narration was well done & that’s why it got the extra .75 ⭐️

You’ll find: Grumpy/Sunshine, “enemies” to lovers, Tension but no spice, romantic comedy

Overall, i’d recommend it but would be clear on the blurry line of emotional infidelity that occurs in the book!

I absolutely loved the audio of this book. The narrator was fantastic! Kate is a very relatable fmc. She tries too hard to please others...to the extent she is accidentally engaged. The banter and the pranks between Kate and Sam are top tier. The book took an unexpected turn toward the end which I always appreciate! I highly recommend giving this one a listen!

This was a cute and cosy story following Kate, a 35-year-old lawyer who finds herself navigating her boyfriend's unexpected proposal. The book is a fun romantic comedy with an enemies-to-lovers twist. For me, the ending felt like a somewhat HEA, but overall, it was a delightful book and a fun read for the holiday season!

The narration was clear and enjoyable, making it a pleasure to listen to.

Thank you very much to NetGalley, DreamScape Media, and Emma Tallon for the opportunity to review the audiobook for “Snow Going Back”.

This was a really cosy romance read with some great tropes; opposites attract, enemies to lovers and forced proximity. The story contains some funny moments for sure, like when Kate accidentally accepts her boyfriend's proposal, but I'd say it's a more serious than hilarious read. You also have the whole aspect of Kate working with and sorting out a legal issue, and I really liked the parallels between her client Cora's background and Kate's own life.

This is a Christmas read and there were some really sweet and festive bits, but there's much more to the story with everything from pranks to family dynamics and choosing how to live your life. It was a bit slower than I expected and it took me a while to get into the story, but once I caught on with the vibe of the read I really enjoyed it!

I really wanted to like this one, but I feel like the synopsis set me up to expect something different than I got. This book is actually about Kate semi-planning her wedding from afar while pretending to be happy about it, while learning the story of her client and seeing parallels between her love story and her client's love story. Were it not for having entirely different expectations based on the synopsis, it may have landed more for me.

Guys, this is the one. I am so happy that I stumbled across this one on netgalley. For the past few days, I've became engrossed in this story and the characters. Let me tell you about it.

Kate is a lawyer. Her boyfriend, Lance, is also a lawyer.
She's content with her life and satisfied with her relationship. After a year of dating, Lance pops the question and Kate ACCIDENTALLY says YES🥲

Not knowing how to get out of it, Kate is swept up in celebrating this proposal she didn't necessarily want.
She's trapped. Until she's contacted by the law firm in Boston and told she has to come live in Boston for atleast 6 weeks to settle an estate due to some ancient contract.

Kate instantly loves the town. She finally has peace and distance from the whole Lance situation. That is, until Sam shows up. Sam, the great nephew of the recently deceased (Cora), comes home to spend one last holiday at his family home and let me tell you, Kate and Sam do not hit it off.

I loved this one. This was the perfect Holiday read. I loved that Kate was a strong willed FMC. I loved the whole diary aspect as well.

This was such a delightful holiday romance! Not only was it a good romance, but it also had a lot of substance and the FMC had an amazing character arc! Which I feel like can be hard to find in Christmas books. The narrator did a fabulous job as well and really brought the entire story to life!

Cute, cute, cute! I loved the enemies to lovers trope, although this is sweet, rather than spicy. It wasn't missed as the story was so well done. It was nice to see a character truly come into her own and this title did not disappoint!
