Absolutely love this read. It has provided such great insights and tips into building quiet into both our personal and professional lives. I can’t think of any one role this book wouldn’t serve. In a world that thrives off noise and constant connection, this book provides insights into how quiet can serve us far greater than the noise we live in.

**5 Stars: *Quiet Works***
This introvert loved the validation! Joe McCormack’s *Quiet Works* is a refreshing guide to thriving in a noise-saturated work culture. The book offers practical advice on carving out moments of silence, setting boundaries, and creating a balanced workflow. For anyone overwhelmed by constant distractions, this is a must-read to reclaim focus and productivity in today’s chaotic world.

“Quiet Works: Making Silence the Secret Ingredient of the Workday”, by Joseph McCormack, is a well researched and enlightening read on the power of silence in the workplace.
The central argument of the book advocates for the insertion of intentional quiet time during the work day, in lieu of the traditional practice of over collaboration with colleagues. McCormack argues that setting frequent appointments for quiet in the workplace, though unconventional for most, will result in professionals being more prepared, productive, and effective in their respective roles.
The author’s writing style is intelligent and accessible. The clarity, pacing, and depth is just right for those who want to be enlightened but not bogged down by writing that is too technical or dense.
The most valuable aspect of this work by McCormack is his retelling of the real life ups and downs of implementing quiet as a workplace strategy. His honesty is raw and powerfully persuasive in encouraging the readers to take their work performance to the next level through practical application of quite. The book’s audio narration also deserves honorable mention for its clear, punctuated, and well performed delivery.
A critique would be the poor correlation made between AI use and workplace quiet. The author attempts to convey a perspective that AI contributes negatively to our compulsive need to intake information. But, his point was unclear and not well defined.
Based on the topic and author’s informative writing style this book is best for leaders and workplace professionals who value introspection and appreciate researched-based practical application of self improvement strategies.
Overall, Quiet Works is an informative read that takes the reader on a journey of self reflection and self discovery that potentially ends in implementation of healthier habits in the workplace. I highly recommend this book giving it a 7/10.

4.75/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m sold and I’m bought in! Quiet Works was a gentle reminder of all the reasons why we need to pump the breaks and create the space to think. On the surface this topic seems obvious but Joe McCormack does a great job helping readers make the connection to HOW building quiet into their workday, and even everyday life, can lead to life changing results. As someone who lives meeting filled days and is on the go 24/7, this book gave me practical ways to integrate quiet in baby steps. I will and have recommended this book to my colleagues and friends as I do believe that everyone can contribute to a healthy culture of quiet. There’s a time and place for quiet, and this book helps to spell how to find and also do to effectively. If you’re looking for tips on how and why you should slow time, turn down the sound and take control of your workday, don’t sleep on inhaling this book! I listened to this book however I am definitely going to be purchasing a physical copy of this book.
