Another great book in the Narwhal series! The idea of a sweet tooth and it falling off instead of out like we often tell children will make for a great connection, as will doing some non-fiction research on narwhal to see if the tusk can truly fall off. My students are sure to love this title!
A cute and quick book with learning moments for kids sprinkled throughout. The animal facts were a highlight! Loved the emphasis on healthy brushing habits as well.

The Narwhal books are always a huge hit with my kiddos! They’re a fantastic way to get young readers excited and engaged with choice reading. For this review, I had my grade four class take a close look at this book and decide whether they’d recommend it to their little buddies in kindergarten and grade one.
The consensus? They thought the book was super silly and a lot of fun, definitely something their buddies would love! The art work is clear and simple, and the story is easy to follow. However, they did note that it might be a bit tricky for a kindergartener to read independently (and they’re right, our kindies aren’t quite ready for a Narwhal book solo yet!). That said, several of my grade fours are keen to read it to their buddies, which just melted my heart!
We’ve even put in a request with our library to get a couple more copies for the school. It’s safe to say this series is a crowd-pleaser and a much-loved favorite among the kiddos. Highly recommend for schools or families!
A lovely addition to any narwhal and jelly collection! These two friends are back again for a fun adventure to fix narwhal's tusk! With the same fun vocabulary and silly solutions -- this is a great read. My two-year old loved it!
What an adorable book about tooth health!
My 8 year old struggles with ‘ rushin the brushin’, despite years of reminders from us (and her dentist). I can’t wait to read this with her! She loves Narwhal and Jelly already, so this book is perfect!
I’d absolutely recommend this one for the 3-9 crowd, who are learning about their bodies and love learning about the world around them. The intermission from the story to present animal facts has always been a favorite feature of mine in this book series.
Loved it. An insta-buy and insta-recommend.

My daughter adores Ben Clanton's Narwhal series. When I told her we could read Narwhal's Sweet Tooth, she quite literally did a happy dance.
These latest stories about Narwhal once again hit the mark. If you'll forgive the pun, Narwhal's contagious goofiness is as sweet as ever. I highly recommend!
This was such a great read! It was very entertaining and the storyline was great. Thank you for the advanced copy!
My 8 year old and I love the Narwhal and Jelly series! This one focuses on Narwhal's tusk. As funny and delightful as ever. We also loved the added factual section--some narwhal have two tusks!
My kids loved this!! We’ve read it together several times. This Narwal and Jelly graphic novel was so cute and just made us all giggle and have a great time while reading! My 5 year old now sings a song while brushing her teeth just like Narwal. It’s honestly our first exposure to Narwal and Jelly and you’d better believe we will be tracking down more of these books!
Review up on Goodreads!!
The Narwhal and Jelly books were a big hit when I was working school book fairs, and this is a great addition to the collection. I can't believe we're at book 9. I do recall that parents at the book fair were hesitant to buy these because they were mainly picture books geared at older readers. The parents felt that they were not getting the value for their money. But in my view, any book that gets a kid to read and be engaged in literature is a win, and there is just something about these two characters that draws them in.
Narwhal goes on a quest to figure out what's wrong with his horn and how to fix it. Along the way, we meet some of his friends, including the tooth obsessed shark, and learn some interesting facts about Narwhals.
Jelly sticks with his friend, and by the end, I was interested to see how the next book would progress. No spoilers, but I definitely want to know what happens now.
As always, these books are written as stand alone. Yes, there are references to past adventures, but nothing that requires having read them to understand the current dynamic and plot. So, if your child wants to read this book at their book fair, go for it. Support a fun series and encourage your kid to read, and know that there are at least 8 other books in this series you can snag at the bookstore or the library to help keep them in the zone.
My daughter liked the narwhal and jelly books so I requested this to read to her. Both my 7 and 3 year old loved it. Cute story and liked the science facts about the sea.
This is such a cute story! This was our first Narwhal and Jelly but my twins loved it and want to read them all now. I loved the science facts sprinkled throughout the charming story as well!
i requested this for my daughter and we enjoyed reading it together so much! the artwork is as cute as ever, the story is adorable, and we are obsessed with the cover! can't wait to buy the physical book for our little library.
The Narwhal and Jelly books are brilliant. I have a hard time keeping them on the shelves.
In this latest installment, Narwhal is experiencing some tooth pain. Jelly tries to teach Narwhal to frown, along with some help from Crab. There are some excellent lessons, including tips on brushing.
Kids are going to love this book, much like the rest of the series. Ben Clanton just can't miss!
Thank you to Tundra Books and Net Galley for the DRC. All opinions are my own.
I was so excited to see a new Narwhal and Jelly release. This series is a favorite in my house!
Narwhal has a big problem: his tusk is cracked! What will he do? Narwhal and Jelly go to talk with other sea creatures about how they take care of their teeth. Narwhal's Sweet Tooth talks about the importance of good dental hygiene, while also sharing facts about various sea creatures. As always, the art is super cute and engaging. My kiddos (5 and 7) loved this installment and we would definitely add it to our collection!
Thanks to Tundra Book Group and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review.
This was so cute! Usually my kiddo can’t sit still with a long book, but we sat together and I read him this adorable story. He’s been really into narwhals as of late and was giggling the whole time. Perfect for a sick day at home. Full of puns and cute friends! I’ll buy this in physical form in a heartbeat
