A modern retelling of "There's a Monster at the End of this Book". Narwhal and Jelly are loved characters by my elementary students and I know they'll love this story that has interactive elements included throughout. Colorful illustrations and graphic writing will make this a fan favorite.

As someone who loves the Narwhal and Jelly chapter books, I’m so excited to see a picture book version geared toward younger readers! The title alone—This Book is Dangerous—is enough to grab any kid’s attention, and Jelly’s dramatic “I’ve got to get out of here!” line is just begging to be read in a silly voice. I can already picture the giggles.
This book is a perfect pick for fans of Mo Willems’ Pigeon or Elephant and Piggie series—funny, expressive, and full of character. It’s sure to become a read-aloud favorite.

A fun picture book to get younger readers interested in the world of Narwhal and Jelly. I love how Jelly's comments encourage children to do exactly what he is asking them not to do, thereby making the story proceed exactly how it is supposed to. I think my daughter would have had a blast with this book when she was younger.

This book is so perfect for a read along. I love the interactive nature and paired with all the twists and turns it is bound to have little ones in giggles. Narwhal and Jelly are such awesome characters. It is great to see them introduced to a younger reading audience.

I rather enjoyed this instalment into the series, it was funny and engaging. The story was good and I loved the illustrations.
Thank you NetGalley.

First and foremost I love Narwals. That’s what brought my attention but I stayed because this is part of the Narwal and Jelly universe by Ben Clayton.
This time around we are focusing on Jelly. He is a little paranoid and his paranoia gets him into some very delightful and amusing situations. This book is fun and interactive that read aloud story time is going to be so much fun. Watching the kids try and help poor Jelly will be a lot of fun. The illustrations are adorable and well thought out.
I would recommend this for interactive story time for ages 4 and up.

I received an electronic ARC from Tundra Book Group through NetGalley.
The first of Clanton's picture book adventures for Narwhal and Jelly. Jelly takes center stage in this book as he looks for a way to escape danger. He directly engages with readers and asks for their help to escape each situation. Readers will laugh along as they help Jelly and watch as he finds more ways to get in trouble. Love the sweet ending.
A delightful new adventure by Clanton.

Very fun! A modern reimagining of "The Monster at the End of the Book" along with a combo of books like "Press Here" and "Don't Push the Button". Imaginative and engaging - kids will love it!

I am a big fan of the Narwhal and jelly books and very excited they are doing picture books. This book fits right in. It is a call and action book that tells you to shake or move or help. But at the same time, it says not to do some of those things. Then you add the art styles of Ben Clayton, and how Jelly talks to Narwhal, and it makes the story move perfectly. It all works together to make a highly enjoyable picture book that kids are going to love for a long time to come.

This Book Is Dangerous! is such a cute addition to the Narwhal and Jelly series of books! I read this with my kids and asked what they thought of it, and their responses were, "Cute! Fun! Awesome!" and I have to agree. While I prefer the interaction between Narwhal and Jelly in most other books in the series, this Jelly-led title still had the fun and humor characteristic of the original books. As a picture book, it is also much easier to read aloud than a graphic novel. I highly recommend it for families with younger children looking for a fun and interactive read aloud experience.
Thank you to Tundra Book Group for gifting my family with an ARC to review. All opinions are my own.

Narwhal and Jelly in picture book form! I wish my boys would have had this when they were too little for the chapter books, but we are loving the transitional readers now. Everything fans love about Narwhal and Jelly is in this picture book, plus it has interactive elements for fans of The Monster at the End of this Book, and Christy Matheson's books, such as "Touch the Magic Tree" or Press Here by Herve Tullet.
This will make a great read-aloud for classroom or library storytimes, and will be fun for parents and children to bond over. Highly recommended!

For my students who adore the graphic novels, a picture book is going to be tough to keep on the shelves! Jellyfish is not a fan of scary things or danger but can’t escape it in this hilarious book!

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to review an advance copy..
This is yet another wonderful piece from Ben Clanton. My daughter loves his Narwhal and Jelly series. This spin off series delightfully follows Jelly on a dangerous adventure. Ignoring the literal warning signs, our poor hero stumbles into the belly of the beast and must find a safe way home.
My daughter gives this one two thumbs up and a happy dance, as well.

Narwhal & Jelly are well-established as very popular early reader graphic novels but, as a picture book in this series is a new venture, I wasn't sure what to expect or how it would translate to a picture book format. I was pleasantly surprised that this series is just as great in picture book form as it was in graphic novel format. I think this is a great introduction to the series for younger readers to get them hooked and then keep them as readers for all of the graphic novels. This would be perfect for 2-5 year olds though I think kindergarteners would love it as well; my six-year-old certainly did. Clanton does a great job of building suspense as you turn the pages -- what dangerous element will Jelly experience next? It keeps the reader guessing and then giggling as we experience all of the dangerous things with Jelly. Finally, at the end Jelly finds Narwhal and they eat the characteristic waffles that are a cornerstone of the series. I will definitely be buying this for my nieces and nephew and would recommend adding it to any pre-k to K collection in a public or school library. Clanton has done it again! Highly recommend if you're looking for a picture book addition, a book that's entertaining for all, or love Ben Clanton (as so many of us do!).

A Day in the Life of Jelly, Without Narwhal
Jelly is a jellyfish, in case this is your first Narwhal & Jelly book. Actually, in this book, Jelly is the star! I can't wait to share this with my grandson. Not only is this a great book, but the illustrations are adorable and it's very funny, so you can laugh too while you read to the the kids!
Thank you to Ben Clanton and NetGalley for the gift of a free advanced reader's copy. I give my reviews their stars based on whether I like them enough to finish them, I have no obligation to anyone. This is great kids' book and it's a series!

I smiled while reading this entire book. Narwhal and Jelly are known and loved by so many kids, and now there's a fun and interactive picture book to add to the collection! I know my 4 year old will love this one as jelly keeps getting in crazy situations. Definitely will be a favorite for many children and introduce different families and readers to the world of Narwhal and Jelly! Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.

This picture book focuses on Jelly and their fear of anything dangerous. Designed to be interactive, the story follows Jelly as they attempt to escape the "dangerous" book. Unlike the usual lighthearted and adventurous Narwhal and Jelly graphic novels, this book doesn't feature clever puns or fun facts. It is aimed at early elementary readers, roughly up to 6 years old. The themes are similar to A Super Scary Narwhalloween. While fans of the graphic novel series may prefer to stick with that, younger readers who are new to Narwhal and Jelly might enjoy this one most.

Loved this fun new picture book featuring the adorable Jelly...with a smidge of Narwhal. Kids will have a great time interacting with the story as Jelly dodges danger in the deep sea. It will definitely appeal to kids who like the yell-out-loud fun of Mo Willem's "Don't Let the Pigeon" series and the classic "There's a Monster at the End of this Book".

ARC Copy...That was hilarious basically another Narwhal and Jelly adventure in bite size form...mostly only Jelly this time and his paranoid levels are up at 11 with lota of hilarious "interactive" moments for the reader to mess with! It was funny to read!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was so adorable and all the illustrations were so cute! This was a fun read and will be great to share with kids.
