this is like every other sports romance book. there is absolutely nothing that makes this one unique. i couldn’t even get through the first ten chapters. they were just randomly camping?? it has absolutely nothing to do with the plot. i have better things to do than read a book that bores me to death.
Such a cute and spicy sports romance. I loved the real and emotional moments along with the characters and how much they cared. The fmc left her abusive ex and job she hated and moves back in with her brother and his friend Clark. She and Clark have history but because of miscommunication and things that happened in the past she thinks he does not like her. There is so much forced proximity, yearning and tension between the characters and i loved how the mmc treated the fmc especially knowing about her horrible ex. This was also the fmc healing and coming back to herself after having to change for a man. This book is spicy with some steamy scenes 🤭. Overall i liked the romance and the its always been you vibes and i hope other characters get books. Thanks to Atria for this arc!

Excuse me? Why have I never read this author before? This was so good and I can't wait to read more by this author. This book was heartwarming, emotional, sweet and steamy. I admit that I love most brother's best friend rom-coms but this one was delightful. Melody's character progression in this book was wonderful. She went from a controlling relationship to becoming self sufficient and independent and started standing up for what she actually wanted and I loved that for her. The shoelaces and the four leaf clovers were sweet and sentimental and really showed their feelings one another. Zac is the best book boyfriend and Melody deserves everything he has to offer her.

Only in Your Dreams by Ellie K. Wilde is an absolute gem! This second-chance romance has all the emotions—so much angst, regret, and that slow-burn tension that makes you want to keep reading. Honestly, I loved everything about it.
The pacing was just right, and I really enjoyed seeing Zac in full-on grovel mode. Watching him work to get back into Melody's good graces was so satisfying, and their chemistry was off the charts. Melody’s growth throughout the book was amazing too. She goes through so much, and it's incredible seeing her come into her own and learn to trust again.
The side characters were so fun too! They added a lot of heart to the story and were great at helping Melody and Zac find their way back to each other. It was just a really well-rounded story all around.
This is definitely the kind of book that makes you wish there was a sequel, just to know what happens to them down the road. I can’t recommend it enough—if you love a good second-chance romance, this one is for you.

Trope: Second-chance romance, forced proximity
Triggers: Abusive relationship
Zac is Melody's twin brother's best friend and has had a huge crush on her since their teenage years that has been unknowingly reciprocated by her. But on a pivotal night when things between them seemed ready to be taken to the next level, Zac breaks Melody's heart with seemingly no reason, leading to a decade-long rift between them where Melody has tried to move on and avoid him at all costs but Zac has been waiting for her to come back to him to right his wrong.
Honestly, this whole thing was based on miscommunication since day 1 and their tendency for miscommunication/avoidance continued into their reunion in their adult lives, which made it a bit frustrating. When they meet again, Zac decides to be explicit in his feelings/flirtations with Melody and even lets her sleep over (platonically) every single night, but she doesn't listen/accept what he's saying to her and gets confused about why Zac does nice things for her ...maybe bc he likes her like he told her 5 minutes ago? Every chapter, I was screaming at both of them to just get together already!!
The pros of the book: the tension/chemistry between Zac and Melody (be ready for super spicy scenes) and Zac's unwavering love/angst/patience for Melody as she heals from her previous relationship; the side characters (I want them all to be happy, especially Brooks).
Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley for the ARC!
Melody and Zac grew up together and haven't seen each other since they graduated high school ten years ago. Melody went away to college and never returned back to her hometown until she gets dumped by her boyfriend. Zac has been in love with Melody since they were kids but never acted on his feelings due his friendship with Melody's brother. Only in your dreams is sweet love story. I hope there is more book to this series in the future.
Okay, I am so happy that I got the request to review “Only in Your Dreams” by Ellie Wilde. I loved this book! I have not read one of her novels previously, so this was such a pleasant surprise that nurtured my little romantic heart. Ellie has a wonderful writing style that had me reading so fast to see what happened next.
Must read if you love:
*** Destined soulmates
*** Hometown love
*** He worships her
*** Dual POV
*** Spice factor: 3-4 peppers
*** Miscommunication trope
*** No third act breakup
Zac is the perfect MMC; the ultimate romantic lead that is so confident in what he wants, which is Melody. When he’s given the opportunity to see her again after ten years, he does not let her slip away again. This is the kind of romance I want to read; the kind that makes you swoon and giggle.
Add this one to your TBR immediately!
Thank you to Netgalley and Atria Books for the ARC of this novel; all opinions are my own.
Thank you Atria for the early copy of this book! I read this book last year when it first came out on Kindle Unlimited and loved it and I am so glad that it is getting traditionally published next year because that gave me the perfect opportunity to reread it. I love a second chance and brother best friend trope and this book did them perfectly. I enjoyed the relationship between Melody and Zac and how they both helped each other through what was happening in their lives. Overall, I'm very glad I got the chance to read this twice and enjoyed the story!

This was genuinely a DELIGHT to read. It had the perfect amount of spice & plot. The banter was so so good. The angst? The longing? The pining? TOP NOTCH. The found family, so good. Zac is a quiet type of love guy, the type where his words match his actions. I understood Melly & her reservations after everything her ex did to her, so seeing her find herself again? Spectacular. This entire book had me giggling, kicking my feet, screeching, and crying.

This book was so good! It was the perfect amount of plot and spice. I loved their second chance at love story so much! This second change was just written so so dang well. A must read!
Zac knew he made mistakes in the past and he does nothing short of fixing everything. The mouth on Zac is...well, we can't talk about this in public. Just trust me on this one.
Thank you to Atria and NetGalley for the ARC.
Ellie K. Wilde has been on my author's to watch list since her debut novel The Sixty/Forty rule.
This book did not disappoint. It has some of my favorite tropes including: brother's best friend, "it's always been you", and second chance.
The MMC is top tier and and will do whatever it takes to prove they're meant to be.
The banter was great, the spice/tension was fantastic, and the conflict felt realistic.
Already looking forward to the next book in this series!
Thank you Artia for letting me read an early copy of this story!
I had the absolute best time reading this. It was a fun and engaging brothers best friend story with a dash of a second chance. I love both characters in this story. How melody was the prickly, sass filled heroine paired with the golden retriever of a man for her. The opposites of them fit so perfectly together in this. They had clear chemistry and a good banter that kept me hooked on their story. From when dislike turned into friends and eventually into more I couldn’t help but fly through the pages of these two. We get a good amount of spice but I love perfectly it was layered in the plot that I felt even without the spice their chemistry jumped off the page. You root for these two through every interaction. Melody gets to find who she is and what she wants next in life with someone who wants what’s best for her even if that is not him. I love that each character progression stayed true to who they were originally are but made their character even more lovable at the end. This has a cute found family group of friends and a football player you find yourself loving. The dynamic these two create for themselves is some of the cutest I have read. It’s such a fun read, with lovable characters, enjoyable but not repetitive spice and a satisfying ending that left me all the warm and gooey feelings.
caution: brother’s best friend ‼️
“ So, this is what it feels like. Wishing for something all your life, aching for it, and then having it appear at your feet.”
