When fan fiction becomes the best romance novel....but the author and actor start off with a sizzling hate and tension!!!!

I adored this book and loved how finn changed his approach and became extremely considerate. Jane is extremely sweet and a devoted Jane austen lover through and thorough!!!

I loved how even thou it was a novella, it showed different depths of character growth and a beautiful story came along with it!
Super excited to read more from this author!!

Thank you Netgalley for this wonderful read!

i really don’t think i’m cut out for novellas. unless it belongs to a series and includes an established couple, there's almost never enough development, and it’s usually too fast-paced for me to care. i genuinely think “Star-Crossed Darcy” would have shined being its own full novel, with extra nuances and tension. but….with that said, it was such a cute premise (which is why i was ecstatic to receive an arc), and the characters definitely had zinging chemistry, so i was rooting for their happily ever after. thank you to NetGalley, Sunshine & Story Press, and Sarah Deeham for providing this eARC!

also, sidenote: the cover is ADORABLE

This book was so gorgeous. Would highly recommend for pride and prejudice fan. This book had me giggling and making me kick my feet. Was definitely a fun novella, with a lot of banter to! Highly recommend!

This was a spicy good time! I loved the set up from the beginning. Our two main characters start off as enemies and grow to become believable lovers. I love the way our leading man is portrayed. Our main lady faces things head on and in such a sassy way. Sarah Deeham did a great job of addressing issues in a real way while keeping the story moving forward. Overall, very happy I read this and look forward to reading more from this author!

Short and sweet, it takes the perfect romance novel plot (in my opinion) and has modernised it to perfection. I did find the fanfic angle a little bit silly, but it helped add to the humour of the novel.

Reading this I have discovered that spicy novellas are probably not for me, but by the end of the story I really liked the couple and was rooting for them. I don't know if all spicy novellas are formatted the same way but the spice before the relationship development felt odd to me... since they actually seem to have a connection. I think I would have had banter, make-out, relationship, then spice probably for that short amount of pages. Overall if you don't mind that, this is a fun, cute story.

This was such a cute quick novella. The Jane Austen Inspired parts of this book were so fun to read. I would highly recommend this book.

As a lover of Jane Austen and Pride & Prejudice being my favorite book of all time, I was excited to read this! I loved the banter between the MC’s! How by simply being locked into a room together forces both of them to face the social media disaster of an elephant in the room (so to speak). I ate up the banter that left me giggling! The chemistry between the two was great and this was a fun read and I will definitely recommend to family and friends. Huge thank you to Net Galley for sending me the ARC because this was so good!

Star-Crossed Darcy is a quick, cute read about an author and the actor who inspired a character in her book.

Jane and Finn had lots of chemistry, but it was definitely insta-attraction when they are forest thrown together. I would have liked a bit more of the time they spent building their relationship via text, calls, etc. as it was my favorite part. For a novella, though, it was fairly well done. I do want to try more from the series.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.

I have never read anything by this author, but I will be looking out for other books they write in the future. I really enjoyed the story as well as the pacing of the story.

I love Darcy, and love when my romances are in novella form, so this was a perfect fit. It was such a sweet story and both main characters were incredibly likable. I would absolutely recommend as a warm, happy novella that can be read in one sitting.

Jane Romano is a bestselling author, famous for her rewrite of Pride and Prejudice, with her Darcy based on the Darcy played by Finn Lyons. Unfortunately for her, Finn embarrassed her tremendously in an interview a year ago, even though he’s never met her. Now they find themselves together for a book signing.

I love the concept of this book. A man she adored and admired from afar in his fame and their worlds coming together. I love the forced proximity, and the growth Finn shows in the book even though it’s a short story, his character demonstrates amazing progress. Jane is absolutely relatable as the kinda nerdy, bookish fan fiction writer who may not be attractive to everyone but Finn sees right through it to who she really is. Jane makes great strides in trusting men again and I loved seeing Finn go back and right his previous wrongs and accept responsibility for those he hurt. He joins a knit a thon to prove himself to her and if that isn’t love I don’t know what is! Thank you to Sarah Deeham and the publisher for the chance to read this!

Star-Crossed Darcy is the first novella I’ve by Sarah Deeham.

Jana and Finn’s relationship does not start out well. Jane was a huge fan of Finn’s prior to him humiliating her during an interview. Now despising him, it is a great surprise for her when he shows up to her book signing. She doesn’t think it can get any worse until they’re both locked in a bookstore storeroom. However, while in the storeroom, Jane and Finn realize just how wrong they were about the other person and things escalate very quickly.

This book is full of lots of humour and passion. I really liked how Sarah Deeham explained more about the characters backstory and why they are the way that they are. I also thought that Jane and Finn’s relationship with one another was very sweet. They both showed how much they care about one another despite their crazy work schedules. It just goes to show that if two people want to be together then they will make it work.

Thank you so much NetGalley, Sunshine & Story Press and Sarah Deeham for this eARC in exchange for an honest review!

A cute novella between a celebrity and an author. Slight enemies to lovers (more on the FMC than MMC). MMC makes amends for a bad interview. Not necessarily Austen inspired but more of a love for Austen.

I received a copy from Netgalley and the publisher.

I'm always willing to read a Pride & Prejudice retelling or adjacent book. This was a nice, fun romance. I enjoyed the P&P tie in. The main character is an author of a fan fic based on a P&P TV show retelling. The male character is the actor who plays Darcy. They start with a love hate relationship because of something he said about her. Overall I really enjoyed it.

This novella was cute! It took me a little to get into it, but I read the last 75% in a day. I loved the plot line but found the male POVs a tad lacking in my opinion. Solid 3.5 stars!

What you get:
🌶️🌶️🌶️ spice
➡️Forced proximity
➡️bookstore love
➡️genuine friendships
➡️NO third act breakup

How many of us have sat in a bookstore, reading a classic, dreaming of finding a genuine connection while also feeling that life is passing us by?

Jane, despite being a famous author with a cult like following, dramas of a classic romance found in an Austen novel. And she has no idea what is in store for her in the stockroom of her friend’s bookstore.

5 stars – Star-Crossed Darcy by Sarah Deeham is the cutest, sexy novella about a fan fic author, FMC Jane and MMC actor, Finn. The story has great banter, some HOT moments and is truly adorable. Easy to read in one setting, you will not want to put this one down! Star-Crossed Darcy is book 4 in a series and now I’m going back to read the first three books.

A big “Thank You” to NetGalley and Sunshine & Story Press for allowing me to read an advance copy. This independent, honest review is happily shared.
