This was a new author for me and I really liked this one! I’m always a fan of plus sized romances! I thought the characters were perfectly matched! The banter was perfect! I loved how sassy the MFC was! She was wonderful! I can’t wait to read the next one!

first off the cover of this book? I AM SO SO OBSESSED.I knew I had to pick this book immediately.
the phrase, I'm a cow was said so much in this book that after a certain amount of times I had to put the book down.
I feel like this book lost me halfway in and it didn't recover when I wanted to like it so badly.

Wyatt & Trista definitely didn’t plan to find each other in the way they did. Or fall in love, but they did. And what a journey they go on to find their happily ever after.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Sooo I tried Nine Month Contract and honestly… wow, not for me. Wyatt is this grumpy mountain man who hires a surrogate, and I was like okay, fine, this could be cute, but it just… wasn’t. The chemistry between him and Trista? Totally flat. I kept waiting for sparks and instead got awkward small talk and a lot of sighing.
The story drags. Like, a LOT. Some scenes are kinda sweet (the family bits, a couple funny moments) but they barely count. The rest is just predictable, like I’ve read this exact same plot a hundred times already. It feels like everyone else is having this warm, fuzzy small-town romance and I’m just… not.
And omg calling women ‘females’ gives me the ick.
I kept hoping the story would pick up, maybe the characters would grow on me, but nah. Honestly, this one’s a hard pass from me.
Thank you to Netgalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the arc!

If you’re into the whole ‘she is mine/he is mine’ super jealous man type romance then don’t bother reading my review. This book is for you. It was not for me.
The MC Wyatt was just a walking red flag to me. Agressive when he’s mad, possessive, controlling, and distrustful. Yes there’s backstory, but it was flimsy. We’ve all been hurt.we don’t walk around telling people who they can and can’t talk to.
Anyways, aside from that, the intimate scenes. I’ve never had a problem reading spice, but these were so detailed. Turns out I do have a limit and I don’t want to hear about stuff dripping… I’ll leave it at that. A number of descriptions truly gave me the ick. And I hate the C word which was used numerous times.
On the plus side I can say I enjoyed the ending, it was very sweet.

Hilarious and spicy. A bit emotional and real. A truly awesome blend for a romance in my opinion, and this one delivered! Gruff mountain man Wyatt wants nothing more than to be a dad. On his behalf, his niece searches for a surrogate and finds Trista. What is supposed to be a mutually contractual relationship only turns out to be more, as they both develop feelings for each other. I thought the count-down of the impending birth as well as the number of animals that also come to stay with the couple was too cute. I enjoyed the transformation of Wyatt and how his true, caring nature shines through the toughness. I loved the banter between Wyatt and Trista. Such a cute romance that sheds a positive light on surrogacy, body positivity, unconventional love and finding happiness. 4.25 stars

Review Title & Vibes:
{READ THE FINE PRINT} because you’re not gonna want to miss a thing about this one. Amy Daws made a surrogacy book sexy. These characters were hilarious but held deep wounds from their pasts. With the overly helpful prompting of his favorite (only) niece, Wyatt Fletcher signs a surrogacy contract with the stunningly curvy Trista. Her love of animals and wildly independent nature makes her perfect match for Wyatt’s quiet loner mountain man vibe.
Things I Loved:
-the backstories - so much character depth that explains the insecurities of our MCs
-the acts of kindness - Wyatt shows up.. even when Trista doesn’t outwardly want him to.
-the spice - feral and possessive! Affirming and hot at the same time.
-the found family - just yes. Trista deserves all the love. Everly’s joyful meddling and mast plan. Calder’s playboy secret softy goodness. Luke’s quietly insightful comments. Jo’s mothering! Cozy’s instant friendship. Max’s willingness to put his money where his mouth is. I’m so excited to read the rest of this series.
Audio Notes:
{duet} loved and binged. Teddy was exactly the right voice for Wyatt’s possessive daddy vibes. Erin performed Trista so well - the independence but secret longing for belonging. I would highly recommend this audiobook!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy. This book gave beautiful imagery of Colorado and had a lot of spice. Fun, easy ready.

This wasn't what I expected, and I loved that about it. The pacing, tone and general vibe of this one was so good and I would happily read this author again.

Yes please to all of it! ❤️ Grumpy mountain man & sunshiny surrogate, messed up pasts, heartache, and steamy romance. This one has it all.

Hear me out, the k*nk in this book wasn’t for me, but Amy Daws’ writing is absolutely for me. I found all the farm animal references to be top tier humorous. I am holding out for the niece’s book because she is a firecracker. If you go into this for a silly goofy time with heart you won’t be disappointed.

I loved Wyatt and Trista.
The story was extremely unique and the plot kept me intrigued.
I loved the animals and the relationships between characters

Amy Daw’s first installment of Mountain Men Matchmaker, Nine Month Contract, is a cute romcom. Wyatt is looking for a surrogate and after several failed matches with an agency his niece, Everly, steps in with a spreadsheet and a Craig’s List ad. When her approach is just as bleak as her uncle’s and time is running out from break and her college overseas is quickly approaching she creates a flyer to hang at the surrogacy agency quite literally runs into Trista. After the agency ruled her out because of her weight the two hatch a plan. With rescue animals in tow and a perfect apartment and barn Wyatt and Trista’s close proximity might not just be heating up due to the hormones from her pregnancy. Check this book out if you enjoy:

Nine Month Contract was very cute! The concept was unique, the writing was solid. However, I found the MFC a bit childish, obnoxious, and silly, which made me struggle to fully connect with her. A bit over the top, but an enjoyable read overall.

Wyatt wants to be a father and has had no luck with the agency he hired to fjnd him a surrogate. Trista needs money badly and the agency has turned her away as she doesn’t fit their ideal profile. These two end up meeting and decide to enter into a surrogacy contract. The characters are fun and their banter was entertaining. I found Wyatt’s desire to become a single parent interesting. Wyatt comes from a boisterous family that brings a lot of levity to the book and I liked Trista’s ever growing zoo she tries to get past Wyatt. The romance between Wyatt and Trista was well done. Over all I enjoyed this book.

Very fun and whitty comedy about a man who wants to be a dad and does it a little differently. The chemistry between these two is great. Didn’t love some of the negative self talk and the heavier nature of the subject matter but it was decently handled.

I had to DNF this one. The way the author writes makes the MCs seem younger than they are, which doesnt work here. The FMC was frustrating and holy internalized fatphobia??? Absolutely not. Also - I know others have probably mentioned this but good lord, the whole "soft as a baby's foreskin" thing? And the author's response to the backlash was... unbecoming. Anyways. I won't be requesting any further books from this author.

Nine Month Contract by Amy Daws is a truly epic small mountain town romance where a man who wants to be single dad & his surrogate are unexpectedly brought together by his niece playing matchmaker in this tale of hope, grand families, animals galore & so much more. If you love big, slight overbearing families with the best intentions, funny moments & overflowing hearts, this is the perfect read for you!
This is book #1 in the Mountain Men Matchmaker series, which is a fantastic start to this series

This one had me all up in the feels. It was beautiful, healing, pulled on those heart strings & had me saying “awe” at all the joy. It also made my animal loving heart soar.
I cannot wait to keep reading this series. This was my first from this author, but it will definitely not be my last. Now I need to go buy me a copy because I’m obsessed with the sprayed edges.
Massive thanks to NetGalley & Harlequin Trade Publishing for the gifted copy, which I voluntarily read & reviewed.

Nine Month Contract is the kind of steamy rom-com that hooks you fast. Amy Daws takes the fake relationship trope and gives it a bold twist with a baby contract at the center—and somehow makes it both hilarious and heartwarming.
The chemistry between the leads is off the charts, and their emotional journey caught me off guard in the best way. I expected heat (which it delivers), but the deeper moments gave it balance. The pacing lagged a bit in the middle, but the banter and tension kept things moving.
If you’re into spicy romance with a side of heart, this one’s totally worth the read.

Nine Month Contract...wasn't for me. I almost DNF'ed at fifty percent, but Teddy Hamilton's narration allowed me to at least finish the book so I could give an honest review. I almost wish I hadn't.
Wyatt, as a grumpy mountain man, wanting to be a dad? Ok, fine. He sounds gruff but swoony. Trista...oof. I don't want to pile on other women, even fictional ones, but yeah. She's supposed to be strong and independent and curvy and beautiful--but she constantly refers to herself as a cow (something like 70 times in the book?), and her sense of humor and mine just didn't jive. There was some humor in the book that gave me the ick, and the whole at-home insemination thing I've discovered isn't something I enjoy reading about. I liked his family and all the animals they kept accumulating, but it wasn't enough to overcome the breeding kink ick and the insemination ick and the awkward humor ick and all the rest of the ick.
I'm glad they fell in love and got to be a family, but it wasn't worth it, IMHO.
