Wyatt has grown up a lot over the past decade and is more than ready to start a family. He’s having some trouble finding a suitable surrogate so ha can’t exactly complain when his family get involved. They find Trista and she’s perfectly. Maybe too perfect since he finds himself wanting more from her than just a baby.

I haven’t read a surrogacy romance before and I liked it more than I’d anticipated. A planned pregnancy is way superior to an unexpected one. And I appreciate the research the author put in. The mcs have incredible chemistry no matter how hard they try to deny it. There are plenty of spice scenes that unfortunately are a bit cringy.

Both mcs have been thru some difficult family situations that bring an emotional element to the story. My heart aches for Trista but I agree with her that animal can be better then humans sometimes.

I’d sum this up as a funny romcom with some questionable spice and the cutest rescue animals. The ending felt a bit abrupt so all in all I give it 3,5 stars.

I absolutely loved this book.
I love anything written by Amy Daws and when I heard this story line I just KNEW I had to give it a shot. It did not disappoint me one bit! I am animal lover myself and I could really resonate with struggling to take stray animals home! A single dad trope but with a whole new twist. A plus size curvy FMC is something we ALL love to see. And add a little bit of country flair = perfection. Nine Month Contract is a must read for those who want a powerful yet soft dynamic with tons of spice & tons of cuddle ✨

“Wyatt Fletcher is a man full of beige flags…”
Nine Month Contract is a follow up from Amy Daws last book Last On The Line which featured the oldest Fletcher brother.

This one centers around the second oldest, Wyatt. Wyatt Fletcher is ready to have a kid and he has decided he doesn’t need a wife or a girlfriend for this new journey. Trista has dreams of opening an animal rescue and not of having a family of her own. Her childhood was less than ideal but she is open to helping someone else achieve their dreams of a family.

They certainly had a very unique relationship. The two don’t have much in common but are the perfect fit for each other to achieve their goals. Trista was all sunshine while Wyatt was a grump whose brothers were convinced he had a word count for each day since he rarely spoke.
“I’m fluent in grunts, growls, and heavy sighs. So yes, totally fluent in Wyatt.”

Wyatt and Trista were a fun way to get to know the Mountain Fletchers and I’m excited for Calder and Luke Fletcher to find their other halves soon!
Thank you @amydawsauthor for the ARC!

*Thank you so much to The Hive, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and Amy Daws for providing me with an ARC of this story. I greatly appreciate it! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’ve read my fair share of romance books, but never have I read a story quite like this one. Usually when wanting to start a family, traditionally it follows with someone having a significant other to help make that a reality. For Wyatt Fletcher, he was ready to become a father, and a single father at that. With the hopes of having a baby, Wyatt went to an agency to help him find a surrogate. For Trista, the last thing she ever wanted in life was to be a mom, but when finds herself stumbling upon the opportunity to potentially become a surrogate, especially considering the money she could get from it, it would be the best chance to secure the funds needed for her own animal rescue center. Wyatt needed a surrogate, Trista needed the job to secure her dream rescue center, and so the two of them embarked on the journey of pregnancy and becoming a parent.

I’ve read stories where it’s been a single parent trope, but never have I read a story where a man wanted to be a single parent right from the beginning. The premise of the book already caught my attention when I read it, but to actually read about it was fascinating, enjoyable, and addictive. This was also my first time reading a book by, Amy Daws, and omg I see why so many people love her books. The way Amy wrote Wyatt and Trista’s story really expanded on the different views of parenthood, the different approaches to starting a family, and even not necessarily wanting children, but willing to help others achieve that dream of having kids.

The other things I liked about this book was that it didn’t hold back on the whole topic of surrogacy, as well as the reasoning behind why Wyatt wanted to become a father. I found myself becoming endeared to Wyatt especially because, most men (at least from my assumptions) don’t willingly take matters into their own hands of starting a family on their own. Wyatt was use to his solitude, but with the hope of having his own child, it was a way of extending his family legacy and in a way also honoring his father. The story hinted at Wyatt’s past in how he was a bit of a wild bachelor especially in his younger years, but now as a thirty-eight year old, he had a sturdy sense of what he wanted in his life, and was responsible. Sure Wyatt tended to be “a bit” overprotective and as Trista would call him, a psycho with his smothering ways haha. In Wyatt’s defense he was just caring take of Trista in every way possible. Wyatt was a doting, overprotective, possessive, and increasingly obsessed papa bear to be alongside Trista.

Now, I’m not an outdoors type of person, but with the way Trista was living in a comfortable, relaxing, and picturesque place on Fletcher mountain, and being surrounded by gorgeous flannel wearing hunks…IMMEDIATELY YES FOR ME! Trista was throughly enjoying living on Fletcher mountain especially with the accommodations that allowed her potbellied pig, Reginald to live in the barn, as well as the additional animals that Trista kept bringing haha. I felt myself throughly immersed and having fun while reading. Trista and Wyatt had great chemistry, great tension, and together it made for the best time when they eventually got together and had their own types of fun *wink, wink IYKYK! Give me a man like Wyatt Fletcher and I will gladly lay back and relax as he does the absolute most for me, and I’ll be ready to give him my whole heart (sigh) that Mountain Man sure had me loving him. On top of that, also add in Luke and Calder, and oh boy, I already want to read their books once they get released!!!

As much as I enjoy a spicy romance book with lighthearted humor, I also appreciate the way stories such as this one illustrate the different ideals when it comes to having a family, the idea of love, and opening yourself to another person. Trista went into becoming a surrogate with eyes wide open, and she knew from a young age she never wanted kids of her own. I also liked how unapologetic Trista was in how she originally saw her future kid free and wanted to focus on her career. Plus, the fact that Trista said that not everyone needs kids to live a fulfilling life stood out to me as her being her authentic, honest self. As I later saw in the story, Trista’s views on becoming an actual parent to the baby she was having for Wyatt changed which was also perfectly fine as well. I think the biggest takeaway from this book aside from the lovable characters and the humor was also getting to see some of the reality behind surrogacy and how it isn’t an easy process as seen by Wyatt’s initial struggle in the beginning. In addition to seeing how Trista felt and dealt with the role of being the surrogate too. All in all, this story had a great balance of entertainment, swoon worthy romance that had good spice, laughter, and some unexpected depth that really intrigued me.

Awww this was a really good story! I loved Wyatt and Trista together, they had good chemistry, tension, some obstacles to overcome, but nothing like a bit of time to work through them. Trista went into the whole surrogacy thing with the mindset of just doing a job, but instead she found herself falling for a mountain man, and finding her place with his family. There was also glimpses of the other Fletcher family members who I’m really intrigued to read about, namely, Calder and Luke. For this being my first Amy Daws book, let’s just say it won’t be the last, and I’m looking forward to reading more books by her. This romance book was unique, humorous, lovely, spicy, and amazing. Trista and Wyatt got their happy ending together, and formed their little family together which was a heartfelt moment to see. Highly recommend if you’re looking to read a unique romance book.

Thank you to The Hive and Harlequin publishing books for selecting me to read this e-Arc! I enjoyed this one a lot and is definitely a different rom com book I have read since this story talks about surrogacy. I’m glad I picked this one as I love trying new books/plots 🫶🏼 I gave this one a 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoyed Wyatt’s and Trista’s romance! This was fun, silly and I liked this was giving grumpy mountain vibes from the MMC. These two characters were steamy and hot 🤭🔥

I thought the author did well with the character development which is what I look forward to when I read anything with romance couples especially with Trisha’s character as she had a past with hardship and had to learn to grow up. Wyatt’s family was so nice and I look forward to reading more about his brothers if this is planned for book 2! They had their struggles as well but their love for one another touched your heart!

One of my favorite things about Wyatt is that he is observant especially when it comes to Trisha and one of my favorite quotes from him is when he said:

“I just think confidence and independence are two qualities that some men find hard to handle in a woman, and you just haven’t found a guy strong enough not to be afraid of it.”

And in that moment Trisha was falling head over heels for this man and wanted him all in the best ways 🔥💗

I would highly recommend this one guys! 🫶🏼

So I’ll be totally honest I’m not usually a fan of the pregnancy trope, accidental or not. However, when I was pitched I was told it wasn’t your typical pregnancy trope story. Instead it’s a romance revolving around a surrogate that falls in love with the grumpy mountain main that wants to be a single father. I think I was so stunned by the concept that I just knew I had to give it a try. And boy am I glad I did. Amy Daw’s “Nine Month Contract” was a hilarious laugh out loud romcom with amazing steamy romance story to match.

I’m still honestly shocked I liked this as much as I did. I fell in love with both our main characters Trisha & Wyatt. Trisha is an our sunshine vet tech who had a passion for animals and wants to open her own rescue. Meanwhile Wyatt our grumpy mountain man that loves his family but doesn’t believe he’s fit for romance. Watching the grumpy v sunshine relationship play out between these two was so much fun to watch. The build up and the spice was extremely well written and I enjoyed every moment of it.

Not to mention Wyatt’s brothers and niece as side characters were phenomenal. I can’t wait to see each brother get their own book. And I already have the next one pre-ordered!

A little disclaimer though for any of my followers that read my reviews. “Nine Month Contract” does include the br33ding trope. Which I know several are uncomfortable with. However, the way Amy handled it made it not too heavy and was easy to follow. Basically if you are just trying “sample” or “dip your toes in” this book is perfect for you. I had no issues with any of it. Probably from being corrupted by too many dark romance books, but that’s a whole other discussion.

Overall, I had so much fun reading this book and I highly recommend it to anyone that’s a fan of romance! Plus on a personal note I can’t wait to meet Amy in Orlando next Month at the Magic with the Belles Romance Book Con. Lastly, Big Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing, NetGalley and Author Amy Daws for the providing me an arc to read and review! The thoughts and feelings are my own.

Loved this book. The animal count at the start of each chapter was so cute. The MMC’s niece is a force for sure. The FMC is a tough girly who doesn’t mess around and is hilarious! The MMC is a total burnt cinnamon roll who just wants to be a dad! The banter and sass between the MCs and the hysterical situations they find themselves in had me LOLing…. So Looking forward to more from the mountain!!!

This was a cute story!
I loved the mental health themes in this book. As a person who has struggled with self-esteem her entire life as a curvy girl, this book really spoke to me. It was very relatable in that aspect. Now I've never been a surrogate but I do have two children so this was hard for me at times.
Wyatt was everything I could have wanted and more. Bossy but so caring. The little things that he did were what every girl dreams of. Where can I find me a man like him?!
Trista and I have a lot in common. What happens in your childhood can have such a large effect on the rest of your life. I love how she battled through her past in this book!
Well done Amy Daws, I will definitely be reading more of your books!

While I enjoyed this book for the most part I did find Trista to be a frustrating FMC at times when she wasn’t willing to let Wyatt help with anything. I also struggled at times to connect with Wyatt but by the end of the book I did enjoy
The story & I was happy to see their happily ever after.

This was my first Amy Daws book and wow! It did not disappoint. It’s so unbelievably fun! Trista is such a great FMC, so funny and independent and I love her so much! Wyatt is so broody and sexy and I love their story together. I love a grumpy/sunshine and this angel animal lover and quiet mountain man are perfect for each other! They come to an agreement for Trista to be Wyatt’s surrogate but of course start crossing some lines. Their tension is so hot and it gets spicy! But it’s also incredibly sweet with Trista becoming apart of this big beautiful family and all the rescue animals were cracking me up! I read this all in one sitting and couldn’t put it down. Definitely one of my favorites that I’ve picked up this year! Easy 5 star!

Thank you Net Galley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is my second Amy Daws book and I am obsessed! Wyatt really wants to be a father. He has been at the surrogate agency with no matches. Every candidate is either too much or is missing something. His brothers and niece come up with a brilliant idea and make an ad for a surrogate. In comes Trista, she is being turned down at the surrogate agency for being “high risk” for being too big, although she has a clean bill of health. Trista really needs the money and is not interested in being a mother. Everly, Wyatt’s niece, finds Trista and thinks she would be a perfect match for Wyatt. As soon as they meet sparks start to fly. Wyatt finally found the perfect surrogate. What will happen next?

This was a five star read for me. There is so much complexity to both of these characters. Their past has done a number on them and they resolve their issues together. There was great banter and chemistry. The tension was top notch! We get plus size representation without it overtaking the story. Trista is a big animal lover and you get to see her bring strays into Wyatt’s barn, which he hates but has a soft spot for. I am not the biggest fan of the pregnancy trope but it was executed well. I loved the grumpy x sunshine dynamic. We were also introduced to the other two brothers, Calder and Luke, setting up the next book. I am super excited for the next book, which is Calder’s book. I highly recommend this book!

This is a heartwarming and sexy romance featuring a quirky heroine with a haunted past. Having no family of her own, she’s had to depend on herself to accomplish everything she’s wanted to, which leads her to agree to becoming a surrogate for a sexy Mountain Man to help pay for her dream of opening an animal rescue.

Watching him develop feelings for her and try to fight them had me giddy and kicking my feet. Even when they give in to their physical chemistry they say it’s only for a short while, but watching them fight their feelings was so much fun!

I loved all of the brothers who live on the mountain and their conspiring niece Everly aiming to help find a happily ever after for all her uncles. I can’t wait to read book 2 later this year!

This is a feel good romance. Very heavy on the grumpy sunshine and found family tropes. I loved the setting and all the animals. The humor is good. The romance/relationship isn't great though. Wyatt and Trista are very, very stubborn and so much of their time together feels clinical . Wyatt is definitely contributing more to the relationship than Trista. I know she's having his baby but that was the contract. And there's far too much mention of Wyatt's cum--it's like another character. I do want to continue with the series and maybe even read Max and Cozy's (horrible name) romance. Thank you to NetGalley for a digital copy

Pregnancy tropes aren’t usually my thing, but a curvy girl spicy romance always wins. This one completely worked for me. I read it in a day and couldn’t put it down. Now impatiently waiting for the next book in the series.

Wyatt’s meddling brothers take it upon themselves to post a “help wanted” ad for a surrogate, and despite his initial irritation, it leads him straight to Trista. She’s wild, opinionated, and completely unexpected but exactly what he’s been waiting for. Becoming a single father is the biggest decision of his life, and from the moment he meets her, he knows she’s perfect for the job. However, when their baby-making plan turns into undeniable chemistry, Wyatt realizes he wants more than just a surrogate. This book is full of of small-town mountain charm, a grumpy/sunshine romance, and a fiery, curvy FMC.

The author did a great job with character development, especially with Trista. Her past was filled with neglect and hardship, forcing her to grow up fast. She struggles to accept help, and that raw honesty makes her character funny and compelling. Wyatt’s family was another highlight. They’ve had their share of struggles, but their love for each other runs deep. The way they embraced Trista right away made me love them even more. Also, the meet-cute between Trista and Everly was fantastic. Trista’s rant on the BMI scale was spot on and immediately made me love her. Her passion for animals was such a great part of her character. Wyatt didn’t stand a chance once they entered the picture, and watching him fall for her was everything.

I absolutely LOVED and devoured this one (while reading several other books LOL). I had actually purchased this on audible before this edition was announced so I did a little reading and a little listening. This book reminded me so much of Meghan Quinn's writing- hilarious and SPICY. I laughed out loud several times while reading this one. Even the names of the chapters and the fact that the number of animals on the mountain kept increasing was epic. What I really liked about this though was the fact the behind Trista's humor there was a woman who had been hurt. She was on the other side of everyone in her life that mattered leaving her for whatever reason so had absolutely convinced herself she wouldn't care if she became a mom for a stranger. Then we have Wyatt who though seeing his parents love each other as they did, is grieving his dad's passing. Because of previous experience he has decided that he will be a single dad all by himself. Wyatt was a borderline grump and watching him come undone and get wrapped around Trista's finger made me smile SO BIG. I loved Trista's version of sunshine being that she legit collected animals. What started as something transactional between these two ended up being forever by the end!

Wyatt has made up his mind and no one is going to change it. He is on the hunt for a surrogate for a baby that he is going to raise by himself. Well technically on the mountain he will have his brother's help. But mostly solo. No woman involved besides the surrogate. The problem is that no one seems to be taking him seriously. Until his nice Everly gets involved and somehow finds the perfect woman. Trista. She wants to be a surrogate but hasn't been picked up by an agency. She has a true purpose that he can get behind on why she wants to do this. All that being said, she is also loud and beautiful and everything Wyatt isn't. She says what's on her mind. Like everything. She walks him through this process and when they come out on the other side and she is now pregnant he can't help having this draw to make her his. He finds himself going out of his way to help her. Though she doesn't accept it which is infuriating. He finds himself thinking about her none stop. He finds himself letting animals on the mountain for goodness sake. So when they decide to no longer fight this connection between them he is all in. Trista claims it can only last until the baby is around. And though he agrees something tells him that might not be long enough with this woman he is now picturing a future with.

Trista can't believe her luck when she runs into a young stranger outside the surrogacy agency asking if she wants to be the surrogate for her uncle. Is this real life? Is she insane? But the more that Everly talks to her the more Trista realizes she is just her level of crazy. Trista is in. She can get this money she wants and work towards her future. What she doesn't expect is her baby daddy to look like a true mountain man. Beautiful. Chiseled. Turning heads at the bar. All that to say he is a man of little words. But that doesn't bother her- she can do enough talking for both of them. So when they get down to it Trista feels good about everything. She has a roof over her head. She has taken the first step towards her goal. But then Wyatt starts showing up for her in ways no one ever has before. He starts to take care of her- even though she fights him on it. He starts to make her want to see if he uses more words in the bedroom. Fact check- he does. And now they are doing this thing- they are scratching itches with a time limit. Because Trista can't let herself get in too deep. She knows what happens to the people that she cares about, and she doesn't want to let herself see if Wyatt will fall into that category. What she doesn't expect is to be proven so wrong.

I seriously can't recommend this one enough! I really enjoyed the audio- Teddy Hamilton was fantastic as our grump Wyatt with the dirty mouth. I have found that I like a boy obsessed and Wyatt played that part so well. I like how they were so opposite but they worked. I liked how we learned more about each of their pasts and understood where they were coming from. The spicy scenes had me legit blushing- also I don't think I will ever look at a child's advil syringe the same way after this one. If you want something that is going to be make you laugh while swooning grab this one. I can't WAIT to read Calder's.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Nine Month Contract is a hilarious rom-com about a grumpy mountain man searching for a surrogate. It may be unconventional but the tension, emotions, and meddling family make it all come together. Amy Daws adds her signature comedy and spice for romance readers to enjoy!

Wyatt is a mountain man who is grumpy on the outside but is a softie Swiftie on the inside. After having a wonderful relationship with his niece, he feels like he is ready for a child. But he doesn't want to deal with a relationship and is going the surrogacy route. His family put out an ad asking for anyone interested, and he got a response. Trista is a strong-willed, curvy FMC, who loves animals and speaks her mind.

Together they embark on this journey of creating a family and gain so much more than a bundle of joy. It's so beautiful to see these opposites balance each other out and find love, family, and happiness.

This is my first book from Amy Daws and I must admit it was a fun one. It was a breath of fresh air to have a FMC who was normal sized and spoke to the fact that just because someone is "overweight" doesn't mean that they aren't healthy.

I enjoyed the interactions between the 4 brothers and their easy acceptance of someone that needed all the love in the world. I will continue to read the stories of the other brothers.

My first Amy Daws book and I will be picking up more of books!

Wyatt and Trista are perfect! The count of animals on from beginning to end, added lightness and fun to what was going to happen in the chapter.

Wyatt the silent (often grumpy) mountain man wants to have a baby and he can't find the right surrogate enter his mastermind of a niece to find him the right one. He ended up being just that silent and grumpy, along with caring and a complete family man who protects those he loves. Over protective most of the time but you know Trista was reading to let him know that.

Trista, she might not be for everyone, her mantras and certain names might make one go, what? But once you get to know her you understand it. A little humor it and lots of pride in doing things on her own. At times you want to tell her GIRL let him take care of you. The moment she realizes she has found a family, she lets go of those worries and allows herself to feel the love of Wyatt and his family and the baby she is going to have.

The moment both Wyatt and Trista give in, there is no looking back but there is still that pull of the past. But the spice was spicy.

Nine Month Contract had funny moments, moments that made you tear up and those angsty moments. A fun Rom-com with animals, realization of self worth and falling in love. I would recommend adding this to the TBR, two more Fletcher brothers to come!
