Are you looking for the next spicy romcom? Pick up Nine Month Contract by Amy Daws. This was such a fun book.

3/5 because this book was absolutely not for me. If you don’t mind a breeding and have children, then you’ll probably enjoy this. Anything else I have to say feels mean, and I know there is audience for this book but it isn’t me.

First and foremost thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book. I had a good feeling about it from the cover and boy was I right. This book was a blast. I had so much fun, I read it all in one sitting and am now eagerly awaiting the sequels. Everything about this had me cackling and kicking my feet and I adored it from the banter to the spice. It was awesome! 10/10

This romantic comedy started off as slightly troubling for me to read, especially the insemination portion. Insemination in a romantic comedy is quite difficult to pull off being in such a sensitive topic. I did enjoy the spice and the romance blossoming throughout the rest of the book. The ending was very sweet. I definitely felt that I could envision the characters in my head while I was reading the story. Overall it took me about two days to read this book.

I just finished this one, and it's so cute, so why haven't I given it 5 stars?
Well l, first of all, there are too many spicy scenes I skipped nearly 10-20% of the book even the chapters that don't have spicy scenes have at least some mentions
Second, WHY THE FREAK DOES THE FMC KEEP DEGRADING HERSELF!!! OMG STOP CALLING YOURSELF A COW!!

What a fun read and a great take on surrogacy! It was so nice to read from both the surrogate’s POV and the soon-to-be parent, and the love story that was revealed was flirty and fun.

I definitely laughed out loud multiple times- though there were a few cringey awkward moments too. Either way, I recommend for an easy read that’s hard to put down!

This was a cute, easy read with good spice! I definitely laughed along the way too, especially with all the animals. I got a little frustrated with their stubbornness, they almost seemed too opposite at times, but I thought it came together well and ready to see what the other brothers have in store!

Enjoyable enough. Funny and emotional at times. I’m not sure the surrogacy thing was really for me, but I’d read another by the author. 3.5 stars.

4.5 stars ✨ The POVs are perfection in this book. A fresh addition to a rom-com book! I wasn’t sure how I would feel about a surrogacy romance but I ended up loving it! The plot was great, the characters were so fun and I can’t wait for book #2!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I loved that there were three POVs in this book! Not only did we see two people fall in love and help each other to heal from past traumas by we got the POV of a nosy match making niece. I loved the dynamic between Wyatt and Trista who seemed like a match made in heaven from the beginning (which Wyatt’s niece knew too!) the relationship between Wyatt and his family was heartwarming and showed Trista that she deserves to be surrounded by love like that.

Watching two people fall in love due to forced proximity (and a pregnancy) is always a great time. Watching two people heal past traumas (childhood and adult) without even intending to do so is even better I love when characters teach each other what healthy love looks like and in this case what a close and healthy family dynamic is. I loved the low stakes, no real third act breakup, and minimal drama from minor characters.

Nine Month Contract is book 1 in this Mountain Men Matchmaker new series . Wyatt has always wanted to be a father and now when he is nearing 40 he is willing to do it alone. The only problem is that all of the surrogates that Wyatt has interviewed he knows that they aren't the right ones for him. Wyatt with the help of hie niece Everly helps with the quest of finding the right person to make his dream come true. When Wyatt meets Trista he knows that she is different and she is going to be his lucky 13. Once Trista moves into the apartment above his barn, she knows that she wants more from Wyatt than whats in the contract . Wyatt feels the same pull towards Trista and now see that maybe he will get more than a baby. This is a funny grumpy / sunshine book for any one that loves a good rom-com with steammy scenes to boot! I would like to thank both NetGalley and Canary Street Press for letting me read an advanced copy of this novel. I can't wait for book 2 in this series.

This book just wasn't for me if I'm honest. The FMC just wasn't my favorite and kind of struck me as not great. This book doesn't really make Surrogacy look that great, it honestly is a slap in the face to women that have been surrogates.
I feel like it could've been written in more of a lighter way and really shown the benefits and importance of surrogacy but alas it was not portrayed properly.

Wyatt has grown up a lot over the past decade and is more than ready to start a family. He’s having some trouble finding a suitable surrogate so ha can’t exactly complain when his family get involved. They find Trista and she’s perfectly. Maybe too perfect since he finds himself wanting more from her than just a baby.

I haven’t read a surrogacy romance before and I liked it more than I’d anticipated. A planned pregnancy is way superior to an unexpected one. And I appreciate the research the author put in. The mcs have incredible chemistry no matter how hard they try to deny it. There are plenty of spice scenes that unfortunately are a bit cringy.

Both mcs have been thru some difficult family situations that bring an emotional element to the story. My heart aches for Trista but I agree with her that animal can be better then humans sometimes.

I’d sum this up as a funny romcom with some questionable spice and the cutest rescue animals. The ending felt a bit abrupt so all in all I give it 3,5 stars.

I absolutely loved this book.
I love anything written by Amy Daws and when I heard this story line I just KNEW I had to give it a shot. It did not disappoint me one bit! I am animal lover myself and I could really resonate with struggling to take stray animals home! A single dad trope but with a whole new twist. A plus size curvy FMC is something we ALL love to see. And add a little bit of country flair = perfection. Nine Month Contract is a must read for those who want a powerful yet soft dynamic with tons of spice & tons of cuddle ✨

“Wyatt Fletcher is a man full of beige flags…”
Nine Month Contract is a follow up from Amy Daws last book Last On The Line which featured the oldest Fletcher brother.

This one centers around the second oldest, Wyatt. Wyatt Fletcher is ready to have a kid and he has decided he doesn’t need a wife or a girlfriend for this new journey. Trista has dreams of opening an animal rescue and not of having a family of her own. Her childhood was less than ideal but she is open to helping someone else achieve their dreams of a family.

They certainly had a very unique relationship. The two don’t have much in common but are the perfect fit for each other to achieve their goals. Trista was all sunshine while Wyatt was a grump whose brothers were convinced he had a word count for each day since he rarely spoke.
“I’m fluent in grunts, growls, and heavy sighs. So yes, totally fluent in Wyatt.”

Wyatt and Trista were a fun way to get to know the Mountain Fletchers and I’m excited for Calder and Luke Fletcher to find their other halves soon!
Thank you @amydawsauthor for the ARC!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🔥: “Or maybe, just maybe… You’re not being smothered enough.”

*Thank you so much to The Hive, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and Amy Daws for providing me with an ARC of this story. I greatly appreciate it! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’ve read my fair share of romance books, but never have I read a story quite like this one. Usually when wanting to start a family, traditionally it follows with someone having a significant other to help make that a reality. For Wyatt Fletcher, he was ready to become a father, and a single father at that. With the hopes of having a baby, Wyatt went to an agency to help him find a surrogate. For Trista, the last thing she ever wanted in life was to be a mom, but when finds herself stumbling upon the opportunity to potentially become a surrogate, especially considering the money she could get from it, it would be the best chance to secure the funds needed for her own animal rescue center. Wyatt needed a surrogate, Trista needed the job to secure her dream rescue center, and so the two of them embarked on the journey of pregnancy and becoming a parent.

I’ve read stories where it’s been a single parent trope, but never have I read a story where a man wanted to be a single parent right from the beginning. The premise of the book already caught my attention when I read it, but to actually read about it was fascinating, enjoyable, and addictive. This was also my first time reading a book by, Amy Daws, and omg I see why so many people love her books. The way Amy wrote Wyatt and Trista’s story really expanded on the different views of parenthood, the different approaches to starting a family, and even not necessarily wanting children, but willing to help others achieve that dream of having kids.

The other things I liked about this book was that it didn’t hold back on the whole topic of surrogacy, as well as the reasoning behind why Wyatt wanted to become a father. I found myself becoming endeared to Wyatt especially because, most men (at least from my assumptions) don’t willingly take matters into their own hands of starting a family on their own. Wyatt was use to his solitude, but with the hope of having his own child, it was a way of extending his family legacy and in a way also honoring his father. The story hinted at Wyatt’s past in how he was a bit of a wild bachelor especially in his younger years, but now as a thirty-eight year old, he had a sturdy sense of what he wanted in his life, and was responsible. Sure Wyatt tended to be “a bit” overprotective and as Trista would call him, a psycho with his smothering ways haha. In Wyatt’s defense he was just caring take of Trista in every way possible. Wyatt was a doting, overprotective, possessive, and increasingly obsessed papa bear to be alongside Trista.

Now, I’m not an outdoors type of person, but with the way Trista was living in a comfortable, relaxing, and picturesque place on Fletcher mountain, and being surrounded by gorgeous flannel wearing hunks…IMMEDIATELY YES FOR ME! Trista was throughly enjoying living on Fletcher mountain especially with the accommodations that allowed her potbellied pig, Reginald to live in the barn, as well as the additional animals that Trista kept bringing haha. I felt myself throughly immersed and having fun while reading. Trista and Wyatt had great chemistry, great tension, and together it made for the best time when they eventually got together and had their own types of fun *wink, wink IYKYK! Give me a man like Wyatt Fletcher and I will gladly lay back and relax as he does the absolute most for me, and I’ll be ready to give him my whole heart (sigh) that Mountain Man sure had me loving him. On top of that, also add in Luke and Calder, and oh boy, I already want to read their books once they get released!!!

As much as I enjoy a spicy romance book with lighthearted humor, I also appreciate the way stories such as this one illustrate the different ideals when it comes to having a family, the idea of love, and opening yourself to another person. Trista went into becoming a surrogate with eyes wide open, and she knew from a young age she never wanted kids of her own. I also liked how unapologetic Trista was in how she originally saw her future kid free and wanted to focus on her career. Plus, the fact that Trista said that not everyone needs kids to live a fulfilling life stood out to me as her being her authentic, honest self. As I later saw in the story, Trista’s views on becoming an actual parent to the baby she was having for Wyatt changed which was also perfectly fine as well. I think the biggest takeaway from this book aside from the lovable characters and the humor was also getting to see some of the reality behind surrogacy and how it isn’t an easy process as seen by Wyatt’s initial struggle in the beginning. In addition to seeing how Trista felt and dealt with the role of being the surrogate too. All in all, this story had a great balance of entertainment, swoon worthy romance that had good spice, laughter, and some unexpected depth that really intrigued me.

Awww this was a really good story! I loved Wyatt and Trista together, they had good chemistry, tension, some obstacles to overcome, but nothing like a bit of time to work through them. Trista went into the whole surrogacy thing with the mindset of just doing a job, but instead she found herself falling for a mountain man, and finding her place with his family. There was also glimpses of the other Fletcher family members who I’m really intrigued to read about, namely, Calder and Luke. For this being my first Amy Daws book, let’s just say it won’t be the last, and I’m looking forward to reading more books by her. This romance book was unique, humorous, lovely, spicy, and amazing. Trista and Wyatt got their happy ending together, and formed their little family together which was a heartfelt moment to see. Highly recommend if you’re looking to read a unique romance book.

Thank you to The Hive and Harlequin publishing books for selecting me to read this e-Arc! I enjoyed this one a lot and is definitely a different rom com book I have read since this story talks about surrogacy. I’m glad I picked this one as I love trying new books/plots 🫶🏼 I gave this one a 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoyed Wyatt’s and Trista’s romance! This was fun, silly and I liked this was giving grumpy mountain vibes from the MMC. These two characters were steamy and hot 🤭🔥

I thought the author did well with the character development which is what I look forward to when I read anything with romance couples especially with Trisha’s character as she had a past with hardship and had to learn to grow up. Wyatt’s family was so nice and I look forward to reading more about his brothers if this is planned for book 2! They had their struggles as well but their love for one another touched your heart!

One of my favorite things about Wyatt is that he is observant especially when it comes to Trisha and one of my favorite quotes from him is when he said:

“I just think confidence and independence are two qualities that some men find hard to handle in a woman, and you just haven’t found a guy strong enough not to be afraid of it.”

And in that moment Trisha was falling head over heels for this man and wanted him all in the best ways 🔥💗

I would highly recommend this one guys! 🫶🏼

Tropes:

So I’ll be totally honest I’m not usually a fan of the pregnancy trope, accidental or not. However, when I was pitched I was told it wasn’t your typical pregnancy trope story. Instead it’s a romance revolving around a surrogate that falls in love with the grumpy mountain main that wants to be a single father. I think I was so stunned by the concept that I just knew I had to give it a try. And boy am I glad I did. Amy Daw’s “Nine Month Contract” was a hilarious laugh out loud romcom with amazing steamy romance story to match.

I’m still honestly shocked I liked this as much as I did. I fell in love with both our main characters Trisha & Wyatt. Trisha is an our sunshine vet tech who had a passion for animals and wants to open her own rescue. Meanwhile Wyatt our grumpy mountain man that loves his family but doesn’t believe he’s fit for romance. Watching the grumpy v sunshine relationship play out between these two was so much fun to watch. The build up and the spice was extremely well written and I enjoyed every moment of it.

Not to mention Wyatt’s brothers and niece as side characters were phenomenal. I can’t wait to see each brother get their own book. And I already have the next one pre-ordered!

A little disclaimer though for any of my followers that read my reviews. “Nine Month Contract” does include the br33ding trope. Which I know several are uncomfortable with. However, the way Amy handled it made it not too heavy and was easy to follow. Basically if you are just trying “sample” or “dip your toes in” this book is perfect for you. I had no issues with any of it. Probably from being corrupted by too many dark romance books, but that’s a whole other discussion.

Overall, I had so much fun reading this book and I highly recommend it to anyone that’s a fan of romance! Plus on a personal note I can’t wait to meet Amy in Orlando next Month at the Magic with the Belles Romance Book Con. Lastly, Big Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing, NetGalley and Author Amy Daws for the providing me an arc to read and review! The thoughts and feelings are my own.

Loved this book. The animal count at the start of each chapter was so cute. The MMC’s niece is a force for sure. The FMC is a tough girly who doesn’t mess around and is hilarious! The MMC is a total burnt cinnamon roll who just wants to be a dad! The banter and sass between the MCs and the hysterical situations they find themselves in had me LOLing…. So Looking forward to more from the mountain!!!
