I loved Nine Month Contract so much. It was such a fun journey. I do feel the HEA felt kinda rushed but given the timeline of one particular character it made sense for this relationship. Still 5 stars from me!

🐮REVIEW: 🐮
I enjoyed this book so much. While the subject of surrogacy is touchy, I feel that Amy Dawson wrote a book that not only touched on the struggles of such a process, but the lengths one would go to become a parent.

Wyatt and Trista are such a sizzling couple. Their connection is instant but their past trauma has them holding back a bit.
They both know they can’t stay away or ignore their connection, but at the same time the prospect of being abandoned and hurt sits at the end of the 9 month mark.

I loved the way Amy detailed just how gruff Wyatt is but how Trista managed to get to his gooey center (kind of a pun but not really but take it as you will), and Wyatt was able to show Trista that it’s okay to have help.

Everything about this was utterly (another pun??) swoon worthy and I’m still gushing over the grumpy mountain man and the eccentric farm his MB created.

Tropes:
🐽 Found Family
🐽 Forced Proximity
🐽 Pregnancy
🐽 Grumpy x Sunshine
🐽 Don’t Look or Speak to Her

A grumpy, reserved mountain man, Wyatt, is looking for a surrogate because he has decided to become a single dad. His brothers and niece interfere by posting an ad on Craigslist when he continues to fail to find one through an agency. His niece, Everly, has ulterior motives for meddling in his surrogacy search and thinks she’s found the perfect person in Trista.

This was really easy to read and the overall plot moved quickly. There was some good humor as well. I liked the writing and would be open to reading more from this author.

I’m not entirely sure what I expected from a surrogacy involved romance, but this was not what I thought it would be. I struggled to connect with the main characters, but I did like most of the side characters, most of the time.

Overall I just wasn’t super invested in it, and I think it’s that I’ve learned a surrogacy storyline is not something I enjoy.

Are you kidding? This was my first read by Amy Daws and I absolutely inhaled it! It was so good. Such a quick read with the most grumpiest of mountain men, the most yummy spice. I absolutely loved all the Fletcher brothers and Trista was a firecracker. I absolutely loved everything about this book, I loved that Trista got to have the family she deserved to have. And Wyatt got the family he so deserved and wanted too.

The only thing I didn’t like was how Trista seemed to weaponize intimacy with Wyatt to get what she wanted out of a situation. That was kinda icky to me especially since we already knew Wyatt was falling hard for her. But besides that I loved it. And I can’t wait to read more by Amy!

Thanks to NetGalley, Amy Daws and Harlequin for the eArc in exchange for my honest review!

If you enjoy the following tropes, you'll love this book:

Not- So - Accidental Pregnancy
Surrogacy
Multiple POV
Grumpy x Sunshine (persoanlly my FAV)
Forched Proximity
Found Family
Small Town Romance
Curvy FMC

Quick Overview:

Grumpy Mountain Man wants to find a surrogate, his brother puts an ad out and his niece finds a candidate.
When he decides she will work out, she loves his pet goat.
The contract is signed.
She’s his surrogate.
Living on his mountain.
He realizes that he wants more.

I really did enjoy this book! This was the perfect book to dive into since I've not read anything with this plot line before so it truly was a lot of fun! I relal yloved how close-knit the Fletcher Family is and how inviting they are. The story building with the small town - mountain setting, & animals, etc really sucked me in.

Nine Month Contract is a small town, surrogacy, spicy romance. Wyatt has always loved being an uncle to his niece, whom he adores, and has decided he wants to be a dad, not just any dad, but a single father. He decides to hire a surrogate to ensure he can be a single father, and this decision was not made lightly. Everly, Wyatt's niece, bumps into Trista, who a surrogacy service has recently turned down. Following an interesting meeting, Everly sets up an interview between Trista and Wyatt.

This book kicks off a new series for Daws and I’m already excited for the next brother’s story. It can easily be read as a standalone as well!

This was a cute and fun book, if somewhat predictable. I enjoyed the large cast of supporting characters but I did not enjoy the overwhelming amount of POVs. It got to be a lot. The ending was sweet but predictable.

The moment I saw Teddy Hamilton was narrating Nine Month Contract, I didn’t hesitate—I grabbed both the ebook and audiobook immediately. And let me tell you, Amy Daws did NOT disappoint. She delivered the plot, the love, the laughs, and all the steam. I devoured this book, ate it up, and left no crumbs. It was everything—funny, heartfelt, and oh-so-steamy.

If you love a grumpy-sunshine, “I’m having his baby” romance, this one is an absolute must-read!

Three things to know about this book:
1. “Rizz” can be found in multiple pages. Multiple.
2. Pre-Covid TikTok references are quoted.
3. The female protagonists name is TRISTA
4. There’s a lot of scientific jargon shoved in that is too long, too specific and wholly unnecessary.
5. Every character has the potential to narrate a chapter at any time.

I don’t know anything about surrogacy sensitivity or the political correctness of breeding kinks, but I’ll tell ya that those five things are all I need to wish 0 stars was an option. I skills have known when the author swore up and down that she went through sensitivity boot camp that we were in for a bumpy ride. I always love a preemptive apology from a guilty conscious.

A grumpy mountain man is ready to have a baby , but wants to leave relationships out of the picture. He opts for a surrogate leading him to Trista, a spunky independent woman ready to give him want he wants so that she can fund her wildlife sanctuary she dreams of opening. Contracts are signed and things are going smoothly except one thing. They didn’t factor in attraction to eachother in the contract.

This is a hilarious romcom story between grumpy wyatt and independent Trista. The plot itself was outrageous yes, but so funny and light hearted. Were things a little silly? Yes and that’s the point of a romcom. I was laughing out loud all the time. I loved the grumpy/sunshine dynamic. The fletcher brothers and theme of such a loving protective family was so heartwarming. The doting uncles were so sweet and the niece gave me “parent trap” vibes . It was diabolical and i loved it all. I feel like this book had a little bit of everything; humor, family, trauma, romance and spice.
The character development through this to the end was so great. Watching both the fmc and mmc break out of their shells into areas they arent comfortable in was so relatable.
The pace is slower through most of the book but theres enough spice and tension to keep you going , the ending went pretty fast once you got to it. The only negative thing I could say is that some of the spicy language was a little cringey for my tastes, but other than that I could completely appreciate the chaotic and hilarious nature of this book.
All around I very much enjoyed this book and give it a 4/5 and a 2/5 for spice.

I love Amy Daws, and although the pregnancy trope usually isn’t for me, I love how this was done. It was light hearted, but also serious when it wanted to be. There is a whole cast of characters introduced that I can’t wait to read more of!

The scenery was described so well, all lush beauty, making me wish I lived on the mountain next to the most perfect family ever. Such a fun and heartwarming read with plenty of laughs and great spice!

I laughed a whole bunch reading this. Loved it more than I thought I would. If a lumberjack mountain man does it for you, give this book a try!

The second I heard the FMC is an animal-obsessed, curvy surrogate to a grumpy farmer, I knew I wouldn't be able to put it down. Imagine my delight when my expectations were blown out of the water.

This book was amazing and had me snorting out loud at work (sorry co-worker's, but they're used to it by now.)

Found family galore in this book, not to mention a pet goat and pig, and a growing count of "foster animals." Amy Daws has the best knack of writing quirky but lovable characters, who are often unfiltered, and I am here for every second of it.

Side note: I loved all of the RHoSLC references (IYKYK!)

This is a first from Amy for me and will definitely not be my last. It was funny, heartfelt, steamy and everything in between! Cannot recommend it enough.

That new cover and edges are TO DIE FOR as well. Grab your copy!

I absolutely loved this book. I loved Trista and Wyatt. The banter was great! This is the first book I have read by this author, and I can't wait to read more. This book had all the vibes for me. Funny banter, independent FMC, grumpy MMC, protective MMC, found family. I just loved it.

I’ve read this before on KU twice already so nothing I say will be new. This book is hilarious, like cracking up in the middle of the night and kicking my feet with giddiness over the banter and romance. I can’t wait for seven year itch!

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Canary Street Press, and Amy Daws for the E-ARC of this book. All thoughts are my own.💚

If you like these tropes, you’ll enjoy Nine Month Contract:
🏔️ Grumpy x Sunshine
🏔️ Forced Proximity
🏔️ Found Family
🏔️ Small Town
🏔️ Aspiring Single Father
🏔️ An Abundance of Farm Animals

Wyatt Fletcher is ready to become a single father and turns to surrogacy to achieve his goal. When he’s unable to find a good fit through a surrogacy agency, his brothers and niece get involved and set out to find the perfect surrogate for him. Enter Trista Matthews, a woman turned away from the same surrogacy agency. After a chance encounter leads Trista to Wyatt’s niece, she’s told of the opportunity and decides to meet the man desperate to become a father, and a spark ignites…

There were a lot of things I really enjoyed about this book. The Fletcher family was amazing and I loved how inviting and tight-knit they all are, Everly was everything, the animals are adorable, the mountain setting, and the last 10% of the book made me so incredibly happy.

Trista is absolutely hilarious. She’s an awkward, animal loving, word-vomiting queen after my own heart. I really liked her, and her growth throughout the book felt realistic - I loved getting to watch her break out of her past and learn to love the family she’d found.

Wyatt was unfortunately a bit too caveman-y for me. I’m all for a possessive MMC, but some of the things he did pre-relationship put me off pretty quickly… Though I will say, I do feel the background and context we get later in the book made it a bit more tolerable for me, and his body positivity also earned him a few points.

Obviously, I knew what I was getting myself into, and for the most part, I didn’t mind the whole surrogate x intended father relationship. There were a few times it made me uncomfortable throughout the story, but it’s so clear that Wyatt and Trista worked so well together that I could overlook the instances of discomfort.

Don’t even ask me how I managed to completely overlook the fact that this is THE Wyatt - as in Max Fletcher’s (Last on the List) brother. The second I saw Cozy’s name pop up I went, “hold up… Wait just a minute here…” It was a lot of fun getting to see Max, Cozy, and Everly again - and I absolutely LOVED the woman Everly grew into.
