I know with books like this you are suppose to take with a grain of salt (meaning don't take things seriously)

Why did we need the neices pov?

I think the whole round about way of the whole pregnancy could have been handle differently.

The writing style wasn't my favorite but i did understand what the author was trying to do..

Wyatt is a lumberjack and he’s here to deliver his seed. (Please tell me you get the stepbrothers reference)

Well to his surrogate that is..
Wyatt is a jaded mountain man who literally lives on his own mountain. With his 3 brothers. Which you know might seem a little odd but even though he keeps his words to a minimum and communicates mainly through grunts, they are close. So close that they support his decision to become a single dad. Because you def don’t need to communicate to children..

Anyways Wyatt is tall and handsome, wears plaid and owns a construction company. All the women want him but apparently he’s too picky so the surrogacy clinic drops him. His niece puts out an advertisement on Craigslist and his local watering hole. What could go wrong?

Trista, has had a lifetime of trauma and honestly should have gone through a lot of therapy before even considering being a surrogate. Like a lot. After being abandoned by her parents she somehow didn’t think being a surrogate would have ANY effect on her mentally? Yeah me either nbd. Unfortunately for Trista as she was getting fired from the clinic she ran right into Everly, Wyatt’s meddling niece. Who knew immediately Trista was the woman for her sullen hunky uncle in more ways than one.

A legally binding agreement, a barn, ranch cup and Tylenol dropper later Trista is knocked up and ready to bake a baby for Wyatt. As much as she wants him she actively fights against his general niceness and only wants to accept kindness from everyone but him. Because you know, trying to be friends with benefits him at every opportunity is fine but letting him help when you are too weak to move is a step too far.

We watch them dance around each other and their growing conflicted feelings for the majority of her pregnancy. Even with the conflict this book was SPICY. I thought it would be a slow burn but I was wrong.. so wrong.

All in all I enjoyed and it was interesting watching them open up about their trauma and come to a better understanding.

Thanks to Harlequin Trade Publishing and Canary Street Press for letting me read this book early. All thoughts are my own!!

I knew from the jump that this book wasn’t supposed to be serious, so I was prepared for that. However, I was not prepared for the very weird vibes this book gives off within this family dynamic. Other reviews mention things that support my theory, but I won’t add them here because I didn’t read that part myself.

Why are the uncles so involved in Everly’s sex life?? They keep saying she’s an adult, but they clearly don’t see her that way. She tells them she’s not a virgin, and they all go WILD and almost possessive. One of them literally screams. It’s definitely a weird vibe, paired with the other comments made about her and her uncle from Trista.

For some reason we switch to WYATT’S NEICE’S POV for three of the first five chapters. It reads like a journal entry. She says “OMG”, in dialogue instead of just saying “oh my god.” She references TikTok sounds in her head during her chapters, and unironically uses “rizz” twice in the first ten percent.

“When my dad is done rizzing my stepmother”

“I could overlook the cat-piss comment if she had that rizz about her.”

“‘Nobody’s gonna know...they’re gonna know...’That trending TikTok sound echoes in my head as I slide my shades on and pull my hood up over my hair.”

We jump back to Wyatt. He’s at the surrogacy place. He says the doctor talking to him has wide, hungry eyes and that the women in that place are always a little too eager. It’s weird behavior, and it gave me kind of bad vibes from him as a character. I read some other reviews, and it’s clear that I probably wouldn’t end up enjoying this book.

I’m saving myself from over 300 pages of whatever this is supposed to be.

Ok I loved this one! Everything about this was so fun and exactly what I was looking for. I’ve never read a book similar to this so I always get excited when there is a new idea and plot for me to dive into. And the physical copy itself is absolutely stunning!

🐐Not-So-accidental pregnancy
🌄Grumpy X Sunshine
🐐Small Town Romance
🌄Age Gap
🐐Curvy FMC
🌄Meghan Quinn and Tessa Bailey vibes

A quick rundown, Wyatt Fletcher is wanting to become a father but he’s not in a relationship and isn’t looking to settle down. So his family help come up with a plan to get him his happy little family via: Surrogacy. It was such a fun and fresh idea for me. I loved that it was the MMC seeking this out versus the FMC. It has pre-single dad trope vibes and I was here for it. It was also incredibly funny and had me laughing several times. 100% Meghan Quinn vibes. Light, cute and fun. If that sounds like something you’d like, this one is worth reaching for!

Thank you to @htpbooks and @htp_hive for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC!

Normally, books with pregnancy tropes are not my jam. But this one was such a pleasant surprise. I genuinely enjoyed the story- it was both heartfelt and hilarious. The banter in general was amazing and the relationship development between Wyatt and Trista progressed so nicely. I loved what a wonderful support system Wyatt’s family was. Such a great rom-com

I’ve read a couple of book by Amy Daws and she always makes me laugh. This book was no exception, Nine Month Contract had me laughing out loud.
I loved Wyatt’s family dynamic, it was so sweet seeing how supportive they are.
There were a couple of things that weren’t my favorite but still enjoyed it nonetheless.
Overall a cute romcom!

Thank you @htp_hive & @htpbooks for this ARC 🤍 #hiveinfluencer

this book had potential but unfortunately it wasn’t it for me. The pacing was off and there was more povs than necessary like the niece did not need a pov?! couldn’t get into this book which is unfortunate because I thought I would eat it up

Amy Daw’s “Nine Month Contract” was a fun, steamy, pregnancy trope romance. The grumpy mountain man, Wyatt, wants to have a baby and hires a surrogate, Trista, to carry that out. That sounds easy enough, but what the two don’t anticipate is falling for each other. I loved Trista’s passion for animals in the story. Her quirky sense of humor was a blast. Wyatt’s group of brothers was the built-in family that Trista needed, and there were several touching moments throughout the story with them.

“Nine Month Contract” included an interesting spin on the br33ding trope. It wasn’t heavy like I’m used to reading. It was sprinkled in. So I would say for those wanting to “dip their toes” into this particular shmink and are not ready to go full-on, then this would be the right story for them. The romance building up between Wyatt and Trista was sweet, and their spicy scenes were well written. I enjoyed the story.

I really wanted to like this book but I could not. Trista irritated the heck out of me. I just could not get how a woman would preaches independence and didn’t like Wyatt helping her a bit was okay with everything everyone else was doing for me but also how she was technically doing stuff like bringing animals which he had explicitly told no as it was his boundary.

Plus her calling herself a Cow, it gets irritating after a while & not funny.

I mean she guilt tried him throughout but didn’t like when he showed care towards her and cold it smothering- mam you were carrying his child, obviously he would want to help you.

Other thing, she said she didn’t want to have kids, I mean she threw that on his face when he was showing there is more but then suddenly after 90% she wants to keep the baby & relationship?

I loved the Fletcher Family and their close knit nature & I won’t judge them what happened in their past & I am also not judging what happened with Trista in her past but she made it her goal to challenge him every step of the way and then was suddenly okay with everything.

Plus her after the baby shower realizing she wanted him was ICKYY!!

I felt author trauma dumped and made a long list of insecurities for the fmc to deal with & I just didn’t feel she even loved Wyatt.

This story follows Wyatt who lives on a farm and wants to be a father. The problem? He's still hurt over his last relationship and doesn't want to be in one to have a baby. He wants to use a surrogate. When Wyatt's niece runs into Trista at the surrogate clinic, they hit it off right away. Trista doesn't want to be a mother and needs start-up money for her dream.

When Wyatt and Trista meet, it's obvious to everyone around them about their chemistry and attraction. Their forced proximity makes Wyatt and Trista see that they're both getting into something that neither one of them expected.

The chemistry between Wyatt and Trista was palpable from the beginning of their story. There were a ton of one liners which | love and had me cracking up multiple times. Wyatt's grumpiness made this whole book for me to be honest. The story behind his grumpiness got me hooked and I needed to know what was going to happen!
I can't wait for the second book in this series!!

Oh my...the giggles that came out of me while reading this. I loved every second of Wyatt and Trista's story. It is a little humorous but also heartfelt. I honestly couldn't get enough!

This was a 4.5 Star read for me.

Going into this book I did not expect to catch myself crying. I’m pretty certain it was just a reminiscence of when I was pregnant with my kids. Either way this book had me laughing and crying! I really needed a light hearted book with a side of spice.

I enjoyed all the animals that were added to the mix and the love this family showed each other was so heartwarming! I enjoyed this book!

I loved this! Obvious by the title you know when you go in that this is a pregnancy romance. You have a mountain man, Wyatt, who is grumpy who is tired of waiting and wants to start a family on his own. With things that has happened in his fast he wants to make sure that his child is his. So he goes in search of a surrogate.
Enter stage left Trista, our curvy FMC who is trying to be more secure in her life. All she wants to do is start her own animal sanctuary. She is our sunshine!
A nine month contract that is what they have. She can live on the mountain and after that baby comes they part ways. I loved after the chapters are introduced we have headers that tell us updates on the mountain and the time and population of the mountain. I thought this was very cleaverly written and even the side characters, including the niece who you get to meet at the very has a great voice especially since its more like she is speaking to us and her plans.
This was my first Amy Daws I do have some of her backlist on my TBR and they are going to have to be moved up becuase I found I really enjoyed her writing style. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series. If it has monuntain men I must read!

Why is no one talking about this book? This is SO freaking sweet.

I love a grumpy/sunshine combo as much as the next girl, but add a side of found family to it and you have d the perfect combination.

This book was written for the acts of service girls and it shows.

If you want a unique but amazing take on the pregnancy trope with a grumpy mountain man that would do anything for you.. STOP ✋ what you are doing and go read this book ♥️

I can’t wait for book two 🥰

Amy Daws is back and I couldn't be more excited.

I'll admit, I gave a little side eye to this book when I saw the blurb. I was curious to see how all this played out but I feel like Daws handled the storyline in a really well rounded way. It was obvious she put the research in when it came to surrogacy. It's still a touchy subject and this story might not be for you, and that's OK!

Wyatt is such a grumpy mountain man and I loved it. When we met the Fletcher brothers in the last series, I knew they would push all my buttons and I was right. Wyatt just wants to live on his mountain with his goat, his brothers, and hopefully add a baby to the mix as a single dad. Trista basically wants to save all the animals and open up her own wildlife rescue. She figures surrogacy might be a way to add to her savings, on top of her regular job. After being denied by the clinic, she runs into Everly, Wyatt's niece, who thinks she would be perfect for her uncle. You can see where this is going.

I really enjoyed this story and found it be a lot more thoughtful and emotional then I was expecting, Daws touched on a lot of subjects like internalized fatphobia, abandonment, and trust issues. Underneath it all, is a really solid story that still brings the spice and humor. I loved that Trista just kept bringing random animals to the mountain, and Wyatt just accepted it. There were a few cringey moments (not sure I can look at a ranch cup the same way again) but they didn't take away from my enjoyment of the story.

I'm really excited for the next book in the series.

I love Amy’s books as they make you laugh, cry and swoon all at once!

Wyatt and Trista’s story is absolute chaos but in the best of ways. Wyatt is desperate to be a father but doesn’t care for marriage or a relationship so he’s looking for a surrogate to live his dream of being a single dad. Trista has only known family as those who abandon you, so has never wanted one of her own. Trista decides to use her eggs and healthy body to help someone else create the family they always wanted while earning money to fulfill her lifelong dream.

Wyatt and Trista can’t deny the attraction they feel for each other so give in to a physical relationship during the time of their surrogacy contract, meaning the end of their “business relationship” will be the end of their physical relationship. Wyatt hasn’t wanted more than physical intimacy years and Trista doesn’t want a family which Wyatt is about to have so there’s no way they’ll develop feelings and complicate things…

I absolutely love the Fletcher family and I’m glad we get to see Max, Cozy and Everly again as well as the crazy brothers! Can’t wait for all the Fletchers to get their HEA!

Amy Daws writes hilarious romance books. Nine Month Contract is another fun installment with a wannabe single dad and the sassy, animal loving surrogate who’s going to carry his child.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Wyatt has always wanted to be a dad. But his romantic past has him swearing off relationships, and deciding that a surrogate is the way to go. For her part, Trista is trying to figure out a way to earn some cash so she can start her own animal rescue sanctuary. The two feel a connection when they meet, but once they decide to go ahead with the surrogate agreement, they are determined to be professional. But with Trista living on Wyatt’s property and the pair spending lots of time together, can they ignore their mutual attraction?

Look, this story is tons of fun. But it’s also a great example of “romance reasons” and willful suspension of disbelief. No, I don’t believe this is a realistic representation of how the surrogacy process works. But I had a great time with it because I didn’t worry about little things like details.

I went back and forth between the ebook and audio, and adored listening to this one. Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon are some of my favorite narrators, and their work here is top notch. The duet narration is a delight, and both of them can make the simplest quip or statement absolutely hilarious.

Nine Month Contract is a fantastic escape. This steamy romcom is tons of fun, and I had a blast listening to the audiobook. Amy Daws writes some of the funniest romances around, and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I thought that this book was super adorable and it gives everything that you could possibly want in a book!

*Small Mountain Town
*GrumpyXSunshine
*Found Family
*Forced Proximity
*Age Gap
*Plus Size FMC
*Surrogate/Pregnancy

I loved the character development that we saw with the FMC. Trista is hard headed, stubborn and very reluctant to let people in. I will admit that she does come across as frustrating throughout the book with the way that she refused to budge, but I think its good writing from the author because it felt very human. Her reluctance for change allowed me to resonate with Wyatt, MMC, as he went about trying to show her love and support in the ways that he knew how. They couldn't be more opposite but they meshed in an absolutely perfect way. They brought out each others insecurities and issues and shredded them to pieces as they lifted each other up.

The animal aspect was probably my favorite part. Trista kept slowly bringing more and more animals onto the mountain and Wyatt was fighting an uphill battle against himself at accepting them. Seeing how Wyatt was against the animals but then he clearly accepted and even loved them was so adorable and it had me kicking my feet.

Trista's mantra of "I'm a cow" was one of the better parts of the story and I loved the humor the author brought into the book.

I will absolutely read the next book in this series as I am already obsessed with our mountain men!
