This is a great collection of comics with dark humor. The artwork is fitting more innocent and straight forward which makes the jokes even more funny. I highly recommend this if you're looking for this type of collection.
Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. The opinion in this review is my own.

The black comedy in these pages is too funny and to the point! I discovered the duo of the authors from this comic collection only and will definitely be watching out for more of their work.

This one was so funny! It's a book that has comics about the earth and it just talks about silly topics like aliens, dinosaurs, end of the world stuff in a hilarious comical way and I was HERE FOR IT!
Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing & NetGalley for this e-ARC.

I enjoyed these comics. This was a very short read that brought some humor to the struggles that the world is facing right now. Laughed out loud at a few of them.

Hi, Earth is a collection of comics from War and Peas about climate change. Quite many of them were relatable, some made me a bit uncomfortable (and I think it was on purpose). The humor is dark, as generally is the topic. About 15% of these comics I already saw posted on War and Peas’ Instagram over the last year.
There were a few comics about mantises which in my opinion didn’t match the theme of the book.
Otherwise it was fun to read through, some of the comics will definitely make it to the group chat once the book is published.
Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC!

Thank You to Net Galley for making this title a Read Now title. It was a dark humor look at the state of the world told through comics. I found many of them genuinely funny, but my favorites were any of the ones with the aliens. There was something incredibly amusing about an outside perspective that amused me the most. I recommend it to people who enjoy comics and have a slightly darker sense of humor.

Delightfully crude. Makes you feel better about feeling really bad because of the current state of planet Earth.
This was a very quick read (I would have liked an even larger collection), but I highly recommend it if you, like I said, have been feeling Badly about things lately.

I loved this. The humor in each page and the illustrations make for the most lighthearted, hilarious book I have read in a long time. Thank you so much NetGalley for letting me read this.

Literally... How fun is this? There is just something kind of perfect about having a morbid sense of humor regarding your inherently impending demise. Its nice to take the humor and mold it in a way that is perceptible and lighthearted in a way that people are able to understand.
While I have never really heard of War & Peas before this, I will be on the lookout, going forward. The gay mantis is one of my favorites, I wish I could hang it up and never let it go.

Firstly, thanks to Netgalley for the free ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. Always a pleasure!
This is a highly enjoyable little collection of satirical works that reflect with enthusiasm and wit on the uncertain future of the human race and the weird little blob we call home. It's neat and funny and not lacking in highly honest reflections on climate change and the world around us.
There are some chuckle-worthy recurring gags and the art style fits well with the material.

If you are a fan of War and Peas comics, you will love Hi, Earth. If you have never heard of Elizabeth Pich and Jonathan Kunz, you will still love Hi, Earth. This is a compilation of many different comics centered on this crazy world we call earth, and earth is not doing so hot. This is the kind of humor that I think many different generations can laugh at and enjoy, sarcastic and silly, and focused on the environment.
There are comics on the animal experience, the human experience, the trees' experience, the alien experience, the list goes on. Oh, and of course, the planets' experience. This book to bring a smile to your face. I recommend picking this up or gifting it to someone who needs a laugh, but who is not sad enough to cry if they see plastic bags at sea or a distraught tree.
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing a copy of this to review.

Right from the first page, you know that this compilation of comics is going to be absolutely hilarious. Page after page you find lighthearted humor--albeit some comics lean more towards the sexual side. Still, very funny about a topic that so many of us are anxious about. We could use a little levity.

War and Peas artists collect their comics that touch on climate change and environmentalism, and deliver. Comics are usually 4 panels, maybe 1, and maybe a two page spread to illustrate how awful climate change is (in a humorous way). It's a dark humor collection of comics. It's a quick read. I almost read it all during my lunch break (except I had to pause for a very specific comic to print off and show to staff about reading). Overall, this is a great collection of comics. Some will make you laugh. Some will make you cringe. It will all make you think. Grab this for general adult collections and maybe high school collections where readers study humor and comics.

I wish I could be a fly on the wall of a climate change denier as they read this comic.
Hi, Earth is a lighthearted and satirical comic collection that roasts the human folly and its cause on climate change.
My thoughts:
As an anxious person that thinks about climate change daily, reading Hi, Earth was a bleak, but enjoyable time. This was brilliant. I smiled, I giggled, I chuckled, I laughed my ass off, and then sat there in total darkness as I thought about our society’s demise. The illustration, dialogue, and execution was beautifully done.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed about 30% of the satirical comic strips. The humor ranges from dark and clever to downright crude sometimes. Tackling topics like environmental issues, human nature, and society’s absurdities. The simple yet expressive art style was good. That said, some of the humor wasn’t really for me, and it’s definitely not for kids. Still a good read for fans of bold, offbeat humor.

Lighthearted and humorous while also putting a much needed spotlight on the issues of today. The Webcomics duo of War and Peas have put together another wonderful collection of work.

This was hilarious in that dark humor kind of way. I think it would be a lot of fun to look at some of these in my geography class when we talk about climate. It was fun and I had to read several parts out loud to my husband. But minus 1 star for being mean to manatees. hahaha.
5 stars

This painfully funny collection of one-page comic strips from the “War and Peas” webcomic takes a hard-edged satirical razor to humanity’s follies, including climate change, deforestation, extinction, and all the other laugh riots of the 21st century.
Of course, the creators aren’t mocking climate change. They’re making fun of people, and I’m sure you’ll recognize a few of their characters’ actions. You might even find a few moments when reading the book feels like holding a mirror up to yourself.
Like many webcomics the art here is somewhat simple and the gags are occasionally crude. But Hi, Earth comes with a unique point of view: Nature is celebrated, Earth survives, and people get knocked down a few pegs — although at one point a tree acknowledges that it sure is nice to be hugged.
This is a short book — you can dive through it in half an hour — but it will leave you thinking (and maybe chuckling under your breath) long after you’ve finished reading it. (Available April 1.)

I had read Jonathan Kunz and Elizabeth Pinch's other works before Hi, Earth and all I can say is this comic is not as good as their previous works. Despite of my three stars, I was still laugh with the joke and how they try to "educate" us all about climate change, about how Earth is suffering from whatever human do.

Hi, Earth is a fun collection of one-page comics that make lighthearted jokes about Earth, animals, aliens, and more. The color palate was great and the concepts were really funny. I enjoy flipping through the book and some of the ideas made me chuckle out loud.
